    PlayStation 3 Framerate problems

    Hey there..

Lately I have started playing the Final Fantasy 13 series again in preparation for Lightning returns. I finished 13 no problem. Now when I play 13-2 I have been getting really bad framerate issues. I cant recall having these issues when I played this game when it was released.

The worst framerate I had was in the Sunleath Waterscape area, It was like I was playing a really CPU demanding game on a low spec PC. I am not sure if this is a common thing for this game or is this a sign that my PS3 is lowly dying?

I have also experienced framerate drops on GTA V but this is expected as its a massive open world game. I will be testing other games when I get the time.

I was just wondering if anyone else has had any framerate issues with Final Fantasy 13-2 or is it just my PlayStation system going downhill? I have had this Slim Playatation since 2009 if this information helps. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    -Dan

It's been a long time since I played FF XIII-2 but I don't remember having those issues. And GTA V plays fine for me. I really have no idea what might be causing issues for you.

Yeah, I can't remember it having bad framerate when I first played it on release. Not sure if my PS3 is struggling to read the disk properly or if it's losing processing power.

Unless this is normal for 13-2, when a played through Final Fantasy 13 last week I didn't have any framerate issues. So I'm not sure what is going on..

EDIT: I have also looked at gameplay footage of Final Fantasy 13-2 on Youtube of the areas effected with framerate problems. But from what I can see there are no frame drops in the videos. This makes me believe my PS3 has a problem processing the game or reading the disks properly.

If that's the case your Blu Ray drive might me on it's way out. Try several other games and see how they run.

Yeah, that might just be the problem. I will test a few more games tonight and see if I get any framerate issues with them. Thanks for the help.

Has anyone else had any framerate problems with Final Fantasy 13-2?
