    External HDD question

So my PS3 run out of space and I got a WD 320 gb HDD to plug it in. I know 320 gb is not much but it was laying around being useless.
So can I move some games to the HDD and play them whenever I want if the HDD is plugged in the PS3? I only care about games and save data and not music/movies/photos. I'm only interested in knowing what happens with games and their save data.

The answer is a categorical, 100%, iron-clad no. External drives can only be used to house system backups, Photos, Music and Videos, not game-related files.

Delete Game Data files for games you don't play regularly or have completed and you'll clear some space. Alternately, backup all of your Game Saves (nothing else matters) to PS+ or a USB stick and replace the internal HDD with up to a 1TB 2.5" laptop HDD.
