GOTY/Special editions with or without a code.

I like to keep the games that I enjoyed, and sometimes special or GOTY editions come out later with all the DLC included that I might not have purchased. I'll usually trade in my basic game for the used special edition later on. But I noticed some of these have a code that you have to download the dlc from the psn store. And if I buy it used, a GOTY edition with a used code is of no use to me. I would like to make a list of which GOTY/ Special editions have the dlc on disc. or require a code to download.

Post Below and I will add to the list.

    Does not require code.

    Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY

    Burnout Paradise: Ultimate Box

    Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition

    Fallout 3 GOTY

    GTA 4 The Complete Edition

    LittleBigPlanet GOTY

    Oblivion

    Red Dead Redemption GOTY

    Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition

    Exceptions to the rule

Borderlands GOTY - Some have a voucher some are included on disc.

    Requires Code

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare GOTY

    Dragon Age 2 Signature Edition

    Uncharted 2 GOTY

I believe Call of Duty 4 GOTY edition required a code, not that the game had trophies though...

I think Red Dead Redemption GOTY doesn't need a code. And, you may get lucky if you do find a DLC code with a used game. That happened to me a few times actually.

I think Borderlands does need a code for certain games, but later versions put the DLC on the disc itself

a word of advice - check Amazon first before buying used. You can usually get a new copy for even less than what GameStop charges for a used game. They also usually give you more in store credit when you trade in games too.

Borderlands GOTY has two different versions. One with the DLC on disc, and one with a voucher for the DLC. As far as I know, the only way to tell the difference between the two is to look at the disc, the one with the DLC on disc will say "GAME AND ADD-ON CONTENT DISC", and I think the one with the voucher says something about a voucher on the back of the box.

Anyone know about Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 & 2's special editions?

    I was considering buying those.

edit: well technically just TFU2 since I have all of the DLC from the First game.

Also does anyone know about Arkham City collectors/special edition?

I am thinking of getting the ultimate addition of dragons age. It has all the dlc's and awakenings. Do all the dlcs use codes or are they on the disc. Buying it new isnt to expensive but if i can save ten dollars i will get it used.

Does the Wipeout HD Fury retail game count since it includes the DLC on Disc?

Also does the Dead Rising 2 Zombrex edition have the dlc built in or downloadable code?

from what I have seen in the xmb there will be the disc icon to start the game and one below it to acutally install the dlc's. I have recently picked this up and tonight I'll throw it in the ps3 and confirm.

Your right. I have it, and once you pop it in, there will be multiple DLC bubbles you can download.

My Borderlands GOTY had the dlc content on the disk and it came with the download code as well. I didnt use the code and was able to play all dlc's just fine. That being said I think its safe to buy this used if you wish
