    Rainbow 6 Patriots Gameplay Interview

Just found this video which tells us some of the features we can expect in the next Rainbow Six game, non of this 'gameplay' footage is actually gameplay from the final product (not sure why they are doing this).
Anyway, enjoy, it has some pretty cool info in there

Creative director David Sears discusses the various enhancements and additions in this incredible new addition to the Rainbow 6 series.

Also take note that he says the release date is 2013...so yeah, no PS3 in 2012

Glad they demoed it on PS3, you do not see that as often and it gives more hope that the PS3 version will be great. Also the graphics look decent so far, like the character animations and seeing the vains in your characters hands looked very realistic.

Gotta be honest, this is gonna be fucking stupid.

I am sick of these FPSs using shock value violence. Its no different than that fucking little girl scene in MW3 that was so insultingly stupid.

This is very clearly setting up for a bunch of controversy in the media and attempting just to tug some heart strings and some controversial issues.

    Attention FPS makers:

    - Just HAVING violence doesn't make you edgy or intelligent. You have to know how to use the violence. Violence without consequence doesn't advance anything.

What separates stuff like Ichi the Killer and Rambo from Oldboy and American Psycho is that the former titles have violence for the sake of having it. The latter titles use violence as a tool.

If you are going to do stuff like this, use it properly...

How about instead of having a quick scene like this where its done and over in 6 minutes, how about the story be split in two and this be the conclusion?

Yeah open it exactly like you did, but have several levels where you play as this guy. Show him slowly come around to these guy's side, maybe even become one of them. Make us empathize with him. Then when this scene happens, IT MEANS SOMETHING. It actually spawns a legitimate emotional reaction because we are connected to the character.

Its why I loathed No Russian and the Little Girl scene so much, they are there just to one-up the other.

Had 'No Russian' been a 2 hour long ordeal where there was a long examination of the event with characters we cared about, the scene would have meant something. It was a fucking joke as it was, and based on this 6 minutes... I can tell that this game is going to be a fucking joke too.

Ugh, I actually miss R6: Vegas 1 and 2 now. Yeah it was action schlock, but atleast it was good action schlock. This is fucking insulting.
Gauss's Piracy Uncertainty Principle: When you pirate a game, that act inherently changes the results of what is to come after your pirating. You can't make any statement with any certainty regarding what would have happened had you not pirated the game.

    Gauss's Rating Rationale:
0-1: A game whose very existence is abhorrent to all things creative and intelligent.
2-4: A just plain bad game.
5-6: A game that has alot of mistakes, but is atleast playable and has some enjoyable sections. Good for a rent.
7: An average game, should be played at some point
8: A good game, should buy at some point
    9: A great game, day-one purchase
10: A game that goes above and beyond the generation, its transcendent.
