    Selling A PS3

I went to gamestop (my first mistake) to sell my 120gb ps3. As I went to sell it they wouldnt accept it because the serial code on the back of the ps3 was missing. It was priced at 160 (system was 60 with a 50 dollar boost and included mw3 infamous 2 and both dj heros). So I need to know how or were i could sell this?

You could always try Craigslist. That is of course if you're willing to meet some stranger off the internet and what not.

Why is the serial number missing? I wouldn't buy a PS3 with that missing so your best bet would be Craigs list or Kijiji. You won't get much for it though seeing as it is an older model and the number is missing.

I usesd craigslist to sell mine after I got the same runaround from GamsStop. I had an 80 gig that I wanted to trade in for the $50 bonus (at that time) I would have gotten $120 in credit.
I sold it and got $150 cash. what helped me was I keptthe games I had purchased on the system, but still deactivated my name.
heres why, If you press triangle on any game it will say who the owner is. if there is no owner, than you can delete all names and put a new one on and the games work
I had about 23 games on there so it helped alot

Craigslist is a good idea. Been using for two or three years and I have never had a problem with either selling or buying stuff.

Put it on ebay and just disclose any issues with it, like the missing serial number. People will buy it, and for a much better price than local pawn shops or LameStop. Just factor in that you'll have to buy shipping and pay an ebay fee, but you'll still come out ahead, and you don't have to meet up with any people from Creepslist. Just make sure to disclose any and all issues.

I had a PS3 where my bluray drive was broken, but the software worked fine and I used it daily for digital games and Netflix. GameStop offered me $40 to buy it for refurbishment purposes. I put it on ebay, and sold it for $100 within two hours, with full disclosure of the broken drive (was even offered $120 and $140 after it closed if the deal fell through).
