How do I get the analog stick controls working with PSone classics?

I thought PS+ was really cool with the free games (Never had a PS3 before), and so I'm playing Crash Bandicoot right now. I'm stuck with the stupid directional pad.

How do I switch it to use analog controls? I go into the options and everything and switch it from digital to analog, but it won't work.

If I'm not mistaken, you should hold the PS button for the menu, then choose a controller configuration. I may be wrong, as I'm just reciting what you do for PSP.

PS button, controller settings, switch to analog mode

Crash Bandicoot 1 doesn't have analog though cos it came out before analog PS1 pads were invented, i think Crash 3 (at a push, 2) was the first one to have the compatibility

    I think it differentiates.

Crash Bandicoot 1 doesn't, even if you switch the Analog to Digital (whichever way round), it will instantly swap back to the other, so it's incompatible.

I think Crash Bandicoot 3 supports the analog sticks though, so it does vary between games!

yes, they're direct ports so if the game came out before analog pads (mid 1997) then analog definitely won't be compatible.

Crash 1 came out before they added sticks to the PS1 controller. PSone Classics are direct ports, therefore if the original didn't support analog, the port won't either.

This. If the game didn't have analog support when it was originally released - you're out of luck.
