    DSL over cable

If it's marketed right, you'll buy it, but...if it's real, YOU"LL FEEL IT"

where does Fios fit? I selected cable since its the closest thing...
ive had RCN and Fios NEVER any problems. my brother has tons of problems with Comcast/Xfinity though
(Xfinity, lol new name, same shitty service)

    heres how it works

DSL, you pay for a speed, people in your neighborhood get dsl and pay for a speed. when too many people are on at once, it slows down. it gets bottle necked. try taking a drink with a straw in a bottle and 20 more people are doing it too at the same time. same hole, (speed) but harder too much pressure, not getting in.

now cable, (for me fios from verizon not Crapcast), I get a direct fiber optic line with a GUARANTEED connection straight from the source. no shared lines(phone lines).

PLUS, its fiber optic, pure speed.

That might of been the case like 10+ years ago. But now, if it does anything of that sort, it's hardly noticeable. Now You can definitely see the bottle necking on newer or popular content on the PSN store. Trying to dl a newer game might take a few minutes longer than usual because of traffic. But as far as internet slow down because people logging on... I haven't experienced that in over 5-10 years. Now back when 56k, and cable was becoming the new thing, yah. That happened all the time...

Must be where you live then, still running older lines with crappy service. I haven't experienced that in years and the only form of it I have experienced is with things like PSN and XBL, but that's not our fault.
