Dimension Films announced a start of production for Sin City

Watch Monsters University Online There are plenty of things that are awesome about Snyder’s Superman, but humanity would never, ever trust him. The resentment and the hurt feelings would always boil under the surface, no matter how much good he did, and that is a gigantic problem for a character who's supposed to inspire wonder, awe and thankfulness. Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the sequel that seemed so unlikely for so long, is now a step further away from actually existing. An update at Box Office Mojo reveals that the film has been pushed back almost a full year, from a planned release of October 3 this year to August 22 of 2014.

Watch World War Z Online Of course, if you've been paying attention, this shouldn't be that surprising. The film kicked off production earlier this year, and in February director Robert Rodriguez posted the above image of Josh Brolin on set, taking over for Clive Owen in the role of Dwight. February to October is just 8 months, a ridiculously tight production schedule for any movie that involves effects, and especially for the stylized world of Sin City. Look at all that green screen behind Brolin! Someone has to fill that in, and that someone likely complained loudly to get the Weinstein Company to come to their senses and push back the release.

Dimension Films announced a start of production for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For more than a year ago, which just goes to show you what kind of timeline they thought they had when deciding an October 2013 release was possible. We have no idea if this kind of lengthy bump is a good or bad thing for A Dame To Kill For in the end-- they hadn't really started to build up buzz, so there won't be much lost in terms of marketing, and late August can be a good release window for slightly schlocky genre stuff like this. But in terms of how the film will look, and how well it will repeat the lush visuals of Sin City, this can't be anything but a victory. Somehow we've found ourselves in a world in which Disney is creating brand-new stories for their animated films, and Pixar is content to recycle a bunch of old ones. As the (admittedly lovely) prequel Monsters Inc. prepares to arrive in theaters this Friday, Pixar's parent Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Frozen, the latest effort from Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The title card in the very beginning reminds you that these are the people who last brought us Wreck It Ralph, and who are now creating a whole new fantasy world with new characters to populate it. So, OK, Frozen is technically based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale "The Snow Queen," but since that's not exactly a household name that comes with instant brand recognition, we're going to give them the original stamp anyway. Although, from watching his trailer, you'd never really know about any of that originality, since the entire point seems to be to introduce kids to the "funny snowman named Olaf" and the reindeer names Sven, two sidekicks who guide our heroes Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) on their journey across a frozen kingdom. The trailer here basically plays out like one of the Ice Age Scrat shorts, and tells us literally nothing about the film's story itself. Do kids just not like trailer with actual plots? Or do they not want to confuse young ones who have settled in for Monsters University by trying to give them another story entirely?

Because this is a spambot, not a real topic
