yea now im really worried about heat on the ps4.

the thing is the smallest console on the market with the most powerful hardware in the console market. where the hell is all that heat going

if it's a repeat of what happened with the ps3 then what are they thinking.

I am in a small minority but no brick is a big plus. I tend to drag my ps3 with me to work every weekend ( 16 hours X 2 ) and dragging a brick like the 360 has makes things more hassle. With wifi getting upgrade to N things should be faster to download.

Yeah I agree is ps4 has over heating issues like ps3 pats then history just repeated itself
but if they managed to keep it at a min then kudos
one thing for sure is I'm waiting til way after launch to hear consumer opinions and feedback

I don't think they would make the same mistake with the heat again. Pretty much the whole back of the PS4 is vents.

Glad there's no brick but wonder how it'll battle the heat?

Hopefully the vents on the back will be plenty to keep it cool or else we'll need those attachable intercoolers, I think they're called, to play for long periods of time.

if it's a repeat of what happened with the ps3 then what are they thinking.
From what I've read about it the console uses much less power than the Ps3 did so the heat produced from the hardware working shouldn't be to substantial but that just based of what the power use has been quoted to be, it does seem to have better ventilation than the Ps3 original did though also When I first saw pictures of the console itself I thought it was bigger than it is as there was no real reference to go off of, the downsizing of dies used to make the hardware should have a considerable benefit towards the heating the original ps3 used 200w and they've managed to get its power consumption down to 60-80w while standby and playing games just from die shrinking.
The Ps4 is going down in size againfrom 45nm to 28nm Sony also seem to have focused on using parts that do not consume much power to begin with like the processor, the standard one that it is based off with 4 cores draws only 18W they are going with a 8 core version of this though so it should use a bit more.
Based off the hardware they have been said to use I think the console will be using similar amounts of power as the current Ps3 super slim maybe a bit more, just with a bit better ventilation design etc.
    I guess time will tell.
