Are You Happy The PS4 Only Has 2 USB Ports?

As you would see from the above image, the PS4 has a grand total of 2 USB 3.0 slots - similar to the amount the PS3 Slim and Superslim have (the original PS3 has 4 USB slots). Do you think that's a good amount? Personally I don't think so, as if you were to charge one controller while using something USB-powered (certain headphones, storage device etc) that's already all of the slots gone - you wouldn't be able to do something else like play a music game like Guitar Hero.

What do you think - is that a good amount of slots or should there be more? Personally, I was hoping for 4 slots...

here's a question what does the eye plug into? 2 does seem restrictive but I suspect it's all down to ensuring it's 399 price point

Doesn't bother me at all. They might release another PS4 at a later date that has more.

Multi-port USB hubs are dirt cheap. It's a non-issue if you already have one lying around or have $10 to spare.

Yup, pretty much that, though i've rarely had the need for more than two at a time before.

No need for four USB ports and having four ports wouldn't look as good. As others have said, you want more ports, get a USB hub...job done. The one thing i would like to see is USB 3.0 instead of USB 2.0 for the USB ports.

I can't remember a time when I've needed more than 2 USB ports so no problem here

I was hoping for at least three, even if it was a 2.0 connection four would have been sweet I need one for my controller and one for my headset so if i need to transfer setuff with usb/HDD or something it gets annoying.

Pretty much what others with experience have said, two is fine. I can use a USB hub. The only thing I'm curious about is whether the PS4 Eye needs to be plugged directly into the system like on the PS3. If you tried plugging the PS3 Eye into a hub with other USB devices, the video capture turned to shit. Of course, a USB 3.0 hub would probably keep that from happening on the PS4.

the playstation camera has its own propitiatory port on the back of the system so the two usb ports are free for use

I definitely would like more than two USB ports as my T500RS and shifter both require a USB port, let alone my headset and other things. I can live with only two and like posted above I can easily get a USB hub.

A bit disappointed but like others have said, a usb hub is dirt cheap online. Though then again I absolutely hate cables. I should get into the IT business and find ways to make everything wireless.

They are 3.0 though on the PS4.

Also, to everyone asking, what Reaper said, the PSeye connects to the back of the PS4.

Thanks to Bladia for the amazing Sig and Avy.

Read what I said, I mentioned at the start they were USB 3.0.

USB's won't make anything you see on-screen better - the GPU and in some cases the CPU are the stuff that deals with the graphics. What you will see late in the PS4's life is the most it will be able to handle (the stuff you see now doesn't take much advantage of its hardware)
