Looks great, but as Ps360 said, the gameplay looks very generic. We'll look forward to more info and screenies, though.

I'm noticing a distinct lack of puddles. The next-gen is all about puddles.

Werewolves attacking from fog looks good and all. But no puddles, no sale.

    Needs more puddles.

    Puddles. Yeah.

    welcome to the "next gen"

grey/brown muddy art style, qte events that last more than 5 seconds, third person shooter, Automatic weaponry in 1886 when the first automatic rifle wasn't even made till 1904

ya soiled it. you took a good premise and soiled it.

    also, nice frame drops.

(if i really wanted to nitpick, i would go into graphical details i saw in the video involving wall textures/clothing simulation/etc. but you'll go "that doesn't matter" or something when it comes to a new 400$ piece of hardware that is suppposedly next gen)

    Alternate history. Duh.

If you're gonna go out of your way to talk shit about a game, at least do more research than Wikipedia and some random video.

I don't think half-bred monsters were around in 1886 neither. This game is a joke

Really? Are we judging reality in gaming?

Edited: Adding a little gameplay video.

    P.S: I didn't know there was a press embargo

The PS4 hasn't even been out for 6 months, yet you expect 60fps 1080 mother of god graphics? Get over it already. How long is this graphical master race going to stop so we can actually talk about the game??

MGS GZ is doing it already, why can't this game?

Ground Zeroes is 1080p 60 FPS thanks to the developers making a proper engine. It also has really awesome AI and other things which is true next gen.

"True next gen" Oh lord. So a game is not considered next gen unless it meets some sort of standards that nobody cares about? Isn't MGS GZ a 3 hour game??

Length doesn't mean shit to a good game.

anyone who actually loves games knows that.

if it did matter, Journey and flower are piece of shit games.

MGS games are known for their length. You don't expect indie games to have the same length as AAA games.

Graphics, 1080P and 60 FPS don't make a good game either yet you bring those up quite a bit.

    A good artstyle does

1080p and 60 fps help the artstyle stand out.

cutscene length sure, but not gameplay wise.

I disagree, I think gameplay makes a good game more than anything else. Sure a good artstyle helps as does 1080p and 60fps but they aren't the end all be all in a good game.

Artstyle can benefit gameplay if done really well.

A great sony example is VSA vs Helghan. You know which person is which no matter how quickly you look. That way you don't friendly fire someone or get shot on by someone right in front of you.

In Team Fortress 2 and Dota 2, Artstyle is essential in combat, which is why they use Sillouettes in their artstyle.

If you can tell who is who from a simple sillouette reguardless of range, it benefits gameplay so you know how to properly react.

Artstyle is way more beneficial to gameplay than you imagine.

check out this dota 2 artstyle guide to learn more about how artstyle benefits gameplay.

    http://media.steampowered.com/apps/d...erArtGuide.pdf

and this TF2 one for a more in-depth version of above:

    http://www.valvesoftware.com/publica...mFortress2.pdf

the higher resolution and more frames you have, the better chance you have to process it faster and react quicker. this is essential in high end games.

    TL;DR

    artstyle srs bzns

artstyle helps gameplay by helping you identify whats good and bad faster.

Resolution and frames help artstyle help you faster.

Again, I agree that the artstyle can be an important factor in the gameplay but just because you don't like the artstyle doesn't mean it is a bad game.

Also, Adam Sessler disagrees with you too.
