I much prefer the Pro controller to the GameCube controller but it is nice they're bringing out this adapter. I wonder how many games will be supported.

If only more Nintendo games supported the Pro controller instead of that stupid friggin wagglestick. I'm looking at you Super Mario Galaxy

That is for sure. The Wii remote is one of the worst controllers I've ever used and I'll absoutely never choose to use it again. I am curious as to why Nintendo decided to make the Pro controller's triggers digital though. Racing games (like Project Cars, which is actually coming to the Wii U) need analog triggers to control the car so Nintendo players will either have to use the right analog stick to control the throttle or play it like an arcade racer where the throttle is either 100% on or off. I highly doubt Nintendo will try to get drivers for any racing wheels either.

There already was a third party version of this item, but it's good to see an official one's been announced. Most likely in time for Smash Bros.

That's great news, but I'm rather sad one has to buy a device to hook up those controllers. Still, I'd rather buy the device than have to use the iPad-wanna-be controller.

Good in theory, bad in practice. Tried playing a Wii game via Wii U on a HDTV? :vomit:

    its great

heard PAL TV's don't like that though. Japan/US use NTSC.

More shite than great. It's nothing against Nintendo, I'd say the same for PS2 via PS3.

All companies should draw the line at HD moving forward. It looks like both Sony and MS are giving us that option, so I'm not concerned about B/C. Everything prior to last-gen, along with the Wii (it's not HD, so doesn't count as last-gen), looks like turd on a high-res screen.

Personally, if I want to play an original PlayStation game, I play it on my old PSone, like nature intended.

Seeing a game I loved 'back in the day' butchered by the higher processing power of a newer console almost brings a tear to my eye.

It actually is a "gamepad", a next generation controller with unprecedented technology.

    One thing I want cleared:

Is Nintendo/PDP/whoever making Gamecube controllers as well or is it just this hub? If it's the latter, I really need to buy another gamecube controller.

You have no idea how comfy it is playing games like 3D World, Tekken Tag 2, Wind Waker, etc while lying in bed. I love the thing

And they will still bitch and moan when they get what they wanted.

oh pls. Nintendo failed to meet the requirements for a decent controller. Sorry, nobody is going to walk around with an ipad for a controller on a tournie, thats just silly. :p

I think they will release a few Cube controllers. If you look at the one in the pic, you can clearly see the Smash logo on it, so they're probably releasing these Cube Smash controllers for people to buy and play the game on the Wii U.

They have to - aside from about 8-10 titles, no one buys Wii or Wii U games.

and this is why Nintendo is always in 3rd place behind Sony and Microshit, because they won't let their older systems die. I get that they're catering to their older fans, an trying to please everyone, but from a business stand-point, and sales numbers, its a terrible idea. if i could buy a GameCube controller for $1 at a garage sale instead of a $40 new WiiU controller, not only will I be buying that $1 controller, but that $1 isn't even going to Nintendo. just move on and sales will go up
