Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon was pretty good if you played the original on GCN.

I've had mine for about a year now and gotten plenty of entertainment out of Pokémon Y, Animal Crossing New Leaf, and Ocarina of Time 3D. Just waiting on Majora's Mask (if it's ever done) and the new Pokémon ORAS games.

I've heard many great things about Shin Megami Tensei IV, so you could try that. Same goes for Fire Emblem: Awakening, Bravely Default and all those Professor Layton and Phoenix Wright games. If you're into KH, you could also buy KH3D.

I haven't found anything that I would recommend to anybody yet.

Barely use my 2DS atm. Would recommend you stay away from Bravely Default though lol.

Does it say something about the state of portable gaming that you buy a 3DS and 8 games, and all 8 are regurgitated Nintendo games?

I know people harp quite a bit on the Vita, but if these are the default 8 games you pick up, maybe the 3DS isn't doing much better... Oh well, my list is going to be tons of RTS and RPGs, sorry.

    Anyway, my recommendations:

    - Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Its one of 4 good games released by Nintendo in the last few years.
    - Any Professor Layton game.
    - Bravely Default

Honestly most of the best 3DS games are DS games (since the 3D aspect is kind of like tacking on a moldy donut to the end of a good steak dinner).

    I would recommend:
    - Advance Wars (Any of them, they are all good)
    - GTA: Chinatown Wars
    - The FF4 remake for DS
    - FF12: Revenant Wings
    - Aliens: Infestation (if you are a fan of 2D Shooters)
    - Infinite Space
    - Robocapalyse
    - Contra 4
    - Front Mission
Gauss's Piracy Uncertainty Principle: When you pirate a game, that act inherently changes the results of what is to come after your pirating. You can't make any statement with any certainty regarding what would have happened had you not pirated the game.

    Gauss's Rating Rationale:
0-1: A game whose very existence is abhorrent to all things creative and intelligent.
2-4: A just plain bad game.
5-6: A game that has alot of mistakes, but is atleast playable and has some enjoyable sections. Good for a rent.
7: An average game, should be played at some point
8: A good game, should buy at some point
    9: A great game, day-one purchase
10: A game that goes above and beyond the generation, its transcendent.

    I would like to recommend:
-Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate (If you like fighting giant monsters and collecting things)
-Shin Megami Tensei VI (If you like a challenge)
-Bravely Default (If you like Final Fantasy)
-Code of Princess (A lot like Guardian Heroes)
-Zelda: A Link Between Two Worlds (Short, but still very fun)

link between worlds is a nice title to play especially if you played the original one back on the snes,
Zelda oot 3d was a very nice remake
Mario kart 7 ok but the new one on the Wii U is better
pokemon gen 6 cant go wrong
kingdom hearts is a filler for the soon to come KH3 on the next gen systems
    Mario (any of em)
    sonic generations, lost world
for retro ds titles too many to decide but remember the wifi functions on anything under the 3ds is gone now so if your an online gamer that is a turn off to some of the games

    I have a few recommendations

If you like games kind of like The Sims, get Animal Crossing New Leaf and Tomodachi Life.

If you like Fighters, pick up Dead or Alive Dimensions. It's the best (non Vita) handheld fighting game I've played.

Like shooters, Resident Evil Revelaitons (that's not a spelling mistake. That's how it's spelled on my game's spine). Game was so good they ported it to the 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC.

Adventure games? Since you have Zelda games, you should check out Link Between Worlds. Especially if you liked ALttP. Paper Mario Stick Star and Adventure Time Hey ice King are both hit or miss.

RPGs? Shin Megami Tensei IV, Devil Survivor Overclocked, Soul Hackers, Etrian Odyssey 4, Tales of the Abyss (although a port, it's a damn fine one), Fire Emblem Awakening and Bravely Default (if you don't mind supporting censorship)

Other games I reccomend are Kid Icarus uprising, Kingdom hearts 3D, Luigi's mansion 2, mario Kart 7, Star Fox 64 3D, and Theaterhythm Final Fantasty (although it's sequel, Curtain Call is coming out in 2 months so I'd wait for that).

I'm going to repeat several people here with some of my suggestions.

Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance
    Bravely Default
    Kid Icarus
    Professor Layton (any)
    Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
    Theatrhythm Final Fantasy
    Myst

If you just want a really good DS game but it's NOT 3DS, then pick up The World Ends With You, Okami-Den or 999. They will play fine in the 3DS.

    Have fun!

SMT4, Fire Emblem Awakening and Project Cross Zone had me buy a 3DS. Add in some Ace Attorney, and the Pokemon games, and all the DS games, there is a lot to play on it.
