Sledgehammer Games' upcoming installment in the Call of Duty franchise will not release on the Wii U this fall, a Sledgehammer co-founder said onTwitter."No, no Wii U," Michael Condrey wrote. "That was an Activision decision. We are focused on Xbox One, PS4, and PC."
Sledgehammer is developing the game for those three platforms, while High Moon Studios is focusing on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The last two games in the Call of Duty series –– Black Ops II and Ghosts –– both released on the Wii U, and were ported by smaller teams at Treyarch. It's unclear why they won't be doing the same for Advanced Warfare, but Condrey confirmed their absence this time around.
This is a shame for those Wii U owners who were planning on picking this game up. This is yet another popular third party game that is skipping Nintendo's platform which isn't a good thing.
