joinDOTA.com » News: Dota 2 not mobile enough for WCG?
In our previous news post about the World Cyber Games, we asked our loyal fans to head over to the WCG website to vote for Dota 2 in the upcoming annual event. As we near zero-hour, news have surfaced on the interwebs that the annual PC gaming event will be now switching to focus on mobile phone games.
Cadred intercepted an e-mail sent by WCG to their partners stating the World Cyber Games will no longer be running traditional games tournaments and will support only mobile phone games.
According to the screenshot of the e-mail, Brad Lee, the CEO of WCG stated that mobile shipments have exceeded PC shipment in the past year and this fact is cruel news to the PC-based gaming event.
"We have witnessed that there have been many companies and organizations who went out of business because they didn't put effort to change", Lee stated.
Lee continued to state due to this circumstance, they have made the hard decision to bring in mobile gaming as the new key sector in their event.
As of now, the organizers of the WCG event have not come forward to explain the content of this letter but is expected to do it soon. joinDOTA will update you as soon as more information becomes available.
