This is a discussion on Post your PC/Desktop Set Up! within the PC forum, part of the Multiplatform Talk; I'd take a picture of my setup, but it's temporary at the moment and it's kinda lame.
AMD Phenom II X6 1065T 6 Cores @2.9GHz
12GB DDR3 RAM
Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR5
Bluray drive (read only )
I have my PC hooked up to my 7.1 Samsung receiver(its hard to see well in the picture since its all high gloss black) which then gets routed to my tv. Two bookshelf bose speakers, an 8" Klipsch sub, and 5 generic samsung speakers (1 center, 4 rear). Its a pretty decent setup cuz I have my ps3, 360, and PC all hooked up to my surround sound and tv, so whatever I play games on or watch movies, youtube, etc. on, its all in superb surround
I'm a keyboard and mouse noob so I use the 360 controller for PC games
The next upgrade I have planned for the future is another set of the bose speakers so that I can put all four Bose in the rear, and replace the FL and FR with some nice tower speakers. Also, I want to get a Bose center channel speaker because I find that my current generic Samsung one doesn't give enough speech volume in movies because the bose speakers are a bit overpowering, even when I alter the channel levels its still not to my liking.
Also, for the love of god I need a new mouse. This logitech wireless has packet loss all the time. Or the laser just isn't tracking properly. Either way, the mouse is a piece of shite.
I'll post pics later, but I'll post my pc specs of my computer I built a couple months ago.
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.4GHz (no need to overclock just yet)
Mobo: Asus p8p67 pro
RAM: 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz G.Skillz
GPU: Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 570 1.3GB GDDR5
HDD 1: Crucial 64GB Solid State Drive Sata III 6GB/s (for windows/some programs)
HDD 2: WD 750GB Sata II 3GB/s (for data/other programs/most of my games)
PSU: 850W (Corsair i think)
Case: CoolerMaster Storm Scout
Monitor: Asus VW246H 24" 1080p
Mouse: Cyborg RAT 7
Keyboard: Cyborg V5
Here is a old picture of my old PC setup. I upgraded to a new monitor recently so it's not identical. I would take a new picture but I dropped my phone today and it broke.
My PC is pretty crap and the neon lights are really fucking bright, but it can run most games decently at medium/high settings. Need to upgrade the Graphics Card though, BF3 doesn't work on my PC at the moment because of it.
For scale, that's 27" iMac, 17" Dell and 24" Dell screens.
A Logitech G19 keyboard, Razor DeathAdder Lefty and the Dell screens are connected to an overclocked Quad-core i7 PC with Quad-GPU (2 x GeForce GTX 295 in SLi), 6GB RAM in an Antec 900 full tower. OCZ SSD primary OS drive, 2 x WD Velociraptor HDD in Raid 0 for Steam are the newest additions, my previous HDD was the performance bottleneck.
A wired Astro MixAmp is plugged in via optical cable to a Creative X-FI Titanium PCIe Fatal1ty Pro soundcard in the PC. There's also a Logitech Z-5500 7.1 speaker system with subwoofer on the floor under the desk, front-left and front-right speakers mounted under the desk, rear-left and rear-right are on a bookcase 2.5m behind the 3-tiered Jellybean computer desk.
I'll be replacing the 24" Dell screen with a PS 3DTV when they hit the market. Either that or a 27" Samsung 3D PC screen if it supports 3D on the PS3.
The PC has been relegated to pure gaming rig status, whereas it used to serve as my work machine and network file storage. The 4 x1.5TB raid array has moved to a Drobo NAS to backup the PC, 2 laptops, iMac and netbook. An additional Synology DS211+ with 2 x 2TB drives acts as a media & web server on a wired Gigabit and wireless-N network throughout the house.
A Quad-core i5 iMac with Mac bluetooth keyboard and Magic Mouse serves as my workstation (this is also my home office) and as a screen for the PS3 when the TV's in use, or when I'm playing PS3 or 360 shooters and want to use a mouse and keyboard.
Xim3 setup for mouse and keyboard on PS3 which is connected to the iMac via Kanex XD. The kick-ass Xim3 also supports PS3 Move Navigator and Logitech G13, but as a lefty-gamer I prefer my ambidextrous ZBoard Fang and a Razor Orochi for claw grip. The wireless Astro MixAmp is connected to the PS3 and a set of Astro A30's.
That is an awesome setup!! Kind of pricey to if I’m not mistaken.
