DmC Release Date Announced

Capcom has announced the release date for the upcoming reboot of the Devil May Cry series, DmC, from the developers behind the hits Heavenly Sword and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Ninja Theory. The game will be available January 15, 2013.

DmC follows Dante in his teenage years as he battles demons in classic sword and gun based combat throughout Limbo City. Along his travels, he will meet a newly announced character named Kat, a runaway who joined The Order at an early age. Kat is a gifted medium with psychic abilities who can see into the demon realm known as Limbo, but cannot not interact with it, unlike Dante. Because of her limitations, she will act only as a guide for Dante throughout the game.

I'm trying to be as open-minded as possible, and actually watch and take in the trailers and info, regardless of Ninja Theory's hand in the development, but It's just not the same. I mean the action looks kinda neat, but Dante is too different (Not referring to the hair, I've made peace with that).

I tried to like it from what I've seen, but I just can't. We'll wait and see, but my money still goes to Bioshock Infinite. For now. FOR NOW.

I'm on the fence on whether I even want to rent it. Aside from his looks, there is the fact that they rewrote his family history: Mom is now an angel who he never met when in the original series she was human and died when he was like 8. Also, he comes across as a little juvenile punk instead of a badass.

The game is like Silent Hill 4: The Room. It may be a great game but as a DMC? I'm seriously doubting it.

Why even bother calling it Devil May Cry? They should just rename the game. Aside from the recognizable action gameplay, you would think it is an entirely different game.

As for DmC itself, I'm looking forward to it as I've never played any of the others before and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Bayonetta (which I understand was based on DmC ?) so.......... we shall see. This may have to be a used / price-drop purchase though because of the glut of new games early next year.....

Well I'm buying this even if it's not the good old Dante I know. I hope I can save enough for the early releases next year because there's a lot of games I'm going to buy later this year.

I'll give it a shot as I loved all the DMCs, but it definitely is going to be different. Most teenagers go through an emo stage anyway

Same here because I'm not shelling out for two new games when I can simply wait for this below average looking game to hit the bargain bin fast and buy Bioshock Infite for full retail instead. I made peace with the hair aswell its just after playing all four DMC games this game looks nice but I'm pretty sure DMC2 looked nice aswell, until you actually played the game .

Last I heard, the release date got pushed up to October from November.

Well least now I get to enjoy some games this year and look at this some point next it seems lol. Nice to have an official date, but see where goes. Might wait, but undecided as of yet.
