Capcom has decided to do something special to promote Resident Evil 6 and have announced today that they will be opening up a Resident Evil themed restaurant in Japan next month to tie-in with the upcoming release of Resident Evil 6 this October.
The restaurant will feature special swag for fans of the series along with performances by the dance troupe S.T.A.R.S. Angelique. Biohazard Cafe & Grill S.T.A.R.S. will only be open for about one year, and will host its grand opening in Shibuya, Tokyo on July 13, 2012.
This is the latest in a line of pop-up establishments similar to those that appear in the U.S. or Europe, the Biohazard Café & Grill S.T.A.R.S will serve themed food in an atmosphere appropriate setting. Capcom has yet to issue details concerning the menu of the restaurant, but it could likely mirror the one Capcom featured for their high-end restaurant + bar which featured a Tyrant steak and a cake desert modeled after the brain of a Licker.
The Biohazard Café may sound like its completely pointless but small themed shops like this are common in Japan. Capcom’s marketing style is very different and unique as they’re doing something different and of course it’s receiving attention.
We're very much looking forward to finding out how many people are willing to eat at a restaurant called Biohazard. Would you eat there?
