    Darkstalkers Resurrection Announcement + Debut Trailer

    Earlier this evening during the Street Fighter 25th Anniversary panel at Comic-Con, Capcom announced the return of the Darkstalkers series! Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono surprised attendees today with an announcement concerning the Darkstalkers franchise. Although Ono isn’t working on a new entry (as far as we know), he was able to reveal “Darkstalkers Resurrection”.Two games will be included in Resurrection: Darkstalkers 2 and Darkstalkers 3, both featuring improvements. The package will be made available through the PlayStation Network in early 2013 for the price of $15.


    Players who want to face-off against their friends online are able to with GGPO-enabled online game play that helps create a virtually lag-free fighting game experience. Building upon the online system previously introduced in Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins, online game play now includes upgraded matchmaking with additional options such as region matching, ping lock and ping display. All you fighting game fans will enjoy that!

    Here are some more new features;

    • Iron Galaxy Studios working on the project
    • Makes use of GGPO netcode
    • Supports HD filters
    • Online ping rates
    • Can unlock concept art and other goodies like Marvel vs. Capcom Origins
    • Can share replays with others
    • Spectator mode included
    • Achievements supported
    • Challenge/tutorial mode

    Even though I'm somewhat happy that they're bringing Darkstalkers back, I just wish they had worked on a sequel rather than more HD ports.
    So please Capcom, instead of porting games, just give us more (and NEW) Darkstalkers, Rival Schools, Breath of Fire and Onimusha!

    I never played the original games and i know very little of Darkstalkers history. I only know of a few characters through Marvel vs Capcom and i have played them games so with that in mind i wouldn't mind giving this a shot as i have always liked these type of fighting games. And as johnny leyenda says above me, i would absolutely love a Breath of Fire on Ps3, that would be awesome.

    getting tired of this old games republished. Those were great games, but come on! what we want is a new, updated, graphically awesome and killer gameplay Darkstalkers! we already played this versions back in the day. No need to keep playing them!
