The Last of Us to Have Longest N.D. Campaign So Far

The Last of Us, the highly anticipated PS3 exclusive that comes to you from the infamous developer Naughty Dog received some exciting news from the developer. The Last of Us follows the stories of Joel and Ellie as they go across the U.S. trying to survive this apocalypse that is going on. These guys will have to work together if they want to survive. Their goal won't come easy though, as they will have to fend off the fungus infected people and looters to complete their goal. TLoU releases June 14, 2013.

A few days ago, it was revealed that The Last of Us would be seeing a delay. A recent post on the Playstation Blog tells us a number of things, but nothing more so than Naughty Dog’s high hopes for this game. Creative Director at Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, took some time to relegate his feelings to the written word. I for one am fine with the delay. If they can polish it up, and not screw it up. I'm down with it.

“The Last of Us is an ambitious project. In many ways it may be Naughty Dog's most ambitious project to date – brand new universe and cast of characters, brand new tech, brand new genre, not to mention it's easily the longest campaign Naughty Dog has ever made.”
    And a little more..

“As we entered the final phase of development for The Last of Us, we came to realize just how massive Joel and Ellie's journey is. But instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards."

Come on ND. Time for a two-disc PS3 game for once. That way you can put whatever tacked on MP you have planned on disc 2.

Cool, more bang for the buck. I just hope it doesn't drag on.

not as if previous ND games have been long. If it wasn't for collectibles Naughty Dog SP games would be very short.

I hope that by this they mean 10+ hours and not "1 hour longer Uncharted."
I also hope the game has replay value, and I'm not talking about multiplayer, which I still think is a bad idea.

In any case, I can't deny I'm super excited for this. The delay is perfect since it'll give me time to save up money.

For 60 or 70 US $ I expect my game to be 20+ hours long, 30 hrs even if you count collectibles. The characters have to be interesting, likeable, believable and I need to feel like I'm involved in this story. I can remember the only time I felt more connected to a story and character, was in Red Dead Redemption.

10 hours for collectibles? You might need some glasses, mate.

I'm glad they delayed the release, especially because the date has been moved from in the middle of my exam period to my holiday period

Even if I'm a little annoyed at Last of Us being delayed, it's better to have a nice and polished game then a buggy mess.
