    PlayStation Now Streaming Service Revealed

Back in February when Sony announced the PS4, they also touched up on their cloud service, Gaikai. When they talked about Gaikai, they also talked about how you would be able to stream PS1, PS2 and PS3 games on the PS4.

Today at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), Sony officially revealed their streaming service. The service, which is called PlayStation Now will allow gamers to stream PSOne, PS2 and PS3 games on their PS4. The service will have a closed beta in the US at the end of January. A full rollout is planned for sometime in the summer. You will be able to rent games individually or get a PlayStation Now subscription.

A digital rent service for older games then? I still have my old consoles, but if Sony's new patent for adding new content to older games couples with this, I'm in.

If it's not affordable, this service is dead in the water.

    For those in the EU/PAL:

As you can see in the details below, it will launch in North America later this year. Unfortunately we’re not quite ready to confirm launch plans for PAL territories. When it comes to broadband provision, Europe is a considerably more complex region, with a huge number of different providers and varying connection speeds from country to country. In short, we need a little more time to ensure a smooth and successful roll-out.
Rest assured we are working hard to bring PlayStation Now to our region as quickly as possible, and will update you again when we have additional news to share.

Options are good. I probably won't use it, yet it's nice to see they're offering it to people that will.

Gonna wait and see how this turns out first before I give it a try. Like Helyx said, if its not affordable, its in big trouble.

This definately seems like a cracking idea and, Like Helyx says, the price has to be right for me to come on down. Thats if it makes it to us, that is.

This sounds exciting as long as they price it right, and depending on what games they have. I'll probably try it out at least once regardless of price though just to see how it works.

Awesome way to get Vita games on PS4 or PS3. Wonder what the delay will be for titles.

Very cool. Assuming it's a good deal and the game selection is good, I might make use of this. As several others have said though, nobody's going to use it if it's not worth the price.

Hope they make something like a lifetime subscription...if they're coming with another idea to get our money bit by bit I ain't supporting it and they always lack some great titles...I'm always playing PS1 and PS2 because of that...prefer to play directly on them than paying to play on PS4.

Hmm. Cool kind of in some ways, but I still have all my hard copy ps1,2, and 3 stuff. Not that I can use them without hooking up the console since there's no BC on the 4. I hope there's a lifetime sub option. I'd rather just pay once and not have to think about it anymore.

It'll be a good idea, eventually but Europe is going to suffer for a fair bit, i have pretty decent internet and i still get problems with streaming so i'd hate to think what a mess it would be for anyone else.

As many already mentioned, i hope the price is right for this service. I'm hoping they put it somewhere in a PS+ section for customers who already have that service.

They posted a demo on IGN of The Last of Us streaming to VITA using this service and as long as trophies work using this, I'm in

PlayStation Now will allow streaming of classics from that system to not only PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but to televisions, tablets, and smartphones. 2014 model Sony Bravia televisions will support PlayStation Now, and PlayStation Now will ultimately scale to non-Sony devices as well.

I'm almost positive this service will be exclusive to PS+ members.
