Industry insider and tipster Ahsan Rasheed has revealed via his Twitter that the PS4 may get backwards compatibility with PS1 and PS2 titles in the near future. Additionally, there will be native 1080p rendering for select titles.
By all accounts, Rasheed is known to be pretty accurate when it comes to the information he's leaked in the past. So while there's a strong possibility that the information is true, Sony has not released any official comments. There's speculation that this functionality may coincide with the launch of the PlayStation Now service, which will allow the streaming of PS3 titles to your devices.Be excited: 1. In addition to providing backwards compatibility, future updates will provide bluray and Media Player enhancements.
