The Official Platinum Difficulty Discussion Thread

This thread is first and foremost a discussion thread, but it also has a poll. Please do not vote in the poll until you have earned the platinum trophy for this game. That being said, we invite you to post below and discuss the difficult aspects of the game, even if you do not yet have the platinum trophy in your collection.

When you post, give more than just a number. Give reasons why you feel the game is easy or hard. What parts of the game are easy or hard? Were there collectibles? Were they a pain? Is there a required online component? How easy or hard is the online portion? What is the most frustrating part about the game?

Once you have obtained the platinum trophy, feel free to return to this thread and post your official vote. Say something to the effect of "I give this a 2 because there was only one tough spot and the collectibles were easy to find". At this point, you may also add your vote to the poll.

The poll is public, meaning everyone can see how you vote.

But I can't give it Very Easy as that's what I rated Trine 2

I am gonna vote easy on this one as well, but it's more like a 2.4 imo. Great game, shitload of ridiculous fun, and a very enjoyable platinum with very little grinding and guided collectables. If you haven't played this game, I think you should because it is far better and less frustrating than the first.

1/10. Very Easy.

Nothing hard about this in the least. There are no events required, collectibles were super easy to find, and you could play the game on hard with a new game + from easy. All the combat related trophies could be earned pretty much right when you got your new powers. A couple of random trophies like climb to the highest point in the city and stay off the ground for a certain amount of distance were simple enough and for me came by just playing the game. If you start the game on easy and do a second playthrough on hard you will, or should, have most of the upgrades through consumes so it really minimalizes grinding. I don't see too many people having trouble with this one.

1 - Very Easy

Extremely easy plat, nothing missable and even the hard difficulty isn't that hard.
Not after you get the first couple Health/Consume upgrades anyways.
Very fun though, highly recommended.

Easy - Did this one on new game+. I'm glad I did too cuz it let me spend a several more hours playing this awesome game. Only part that was a bit difficult was the last boss fight. Took me several tries to get em'.

Compared to Prototype 1, this game is a joke
It's really short and most trophies come naturally. The collectibles are also pointed out on the in-game map and you don't even need a collectible guide for it. I'm just not giving it a 1/5 because there are much easier games where all trophies unlock automatically by playing through the story. Here you have to do some special tasks at least

EASY: I still liked the game a lot. The first one I didn't like a all. The thing I liked the most about it was the way the collectibles were set up.

I voted easy because there isn't any hard parts really but I could see people struggleing on the last boss if they didn't use powerpyx's strategy in his video guide.

Had to give this a Very Easy. Hard Mode was a breeze, collectibles were a breeze, and all the other miscellaneous trophies were a breeze. I didn't know people were having issues with the final boss until I read this thread--I don't really understand how it's hard? Even on Hard, he was a joke... Regardless, though, the game is fun, much less frustrating (especially control-wise) than the first, and only took 3 evenings to Platinum!

Voted easy.

I played the game on easy first and I got all trophies except the ones for fully evolving Heller and beating the game on hard. Most of them came naturally and the collectibles were easy to find with or without a guide.

Hard mode was a piece of cake when you played it through on NG+. I did a speed run and finished it in around 3:30.

This was a very enjoyable plat and doesn't feel cheap.

My friend got the Plat the same day he bought it. Took him about 12 hours, so I'm going to say it will be Easy.

i give this a very easy. I did my first playthrough on Hard and didnt have any problems bar the final mercer fight which i only died in twice and the goliath which wasnt hard just took a while because i kept getting thrown. I was going to vote Easy and not Very Easy simply because for some reason in the after game free roam i couldnt get any upgrades to spawn and accidentally killed a few in the game so i was about 7 or 8 away from full, but after starting my NG+ on easy i just went to the caged brawler in the YZ after every mission and got it it. While the game is laughably easy I still think its worth it great story [terrible ending] loads to do collectibles arent difficult to find but arent right in your face either

Very easy. Extremely easy game and a lot of fun. One of the games I miss playing after finishing it.

The game on hard was easy after finished everything in easy first with only 2 trophies when starting hard.

Died a couple times at hard, and about 5 times at the fight with Mercer because I couldn't use hammerfirst anymore after the first 2 fights.
Realised that too late.

Hopefully there is DLC coming but I'm afraid we only hope for a PROTOTYPE 3!

Easy- I don't believe this game offered anywhere near as much as a challenge as the first one and I was a little let down but enjoyed myself none the less.

I voted moderate, only because I played through on Hard first (without all the powerups). What made it moderate was actually the camera and controls.

Often times I would find myself dying in the lairs because the camera would whip around and I couldn't see what was happening (every time you got hit) also I would die sometimes because I would come out of a cut scene and it decided to unequip my powers leaving me open to a couple of attacks by the enemy.

If they fixed these two annoying things (seriously why would I not want my powers equipped) I would have voted Easy.

Easy. The combat was significantly improved over the first one. You can go complete the game on easy first, getting all the collectibles and doing all the side missions, and then do a new game+ on hard with everything from your easy playthrough, making the game that much easier.
