    Guitar Techniques

Now were going trough each Technique Challenge so get ready to learn:
    1- Sustains
    2- Shifting
    3- Hammer-ons & Pull-ofs
    4- Slides
    5- Bends
    6-Harmonics
    7- Palm Mute
    8- Tremolo
    9- Chord
    10- Double Stop
    11- Power Chord
    12- Barre Chord

Sustains- A Sustain a note happens when you strum a note and old it down until it fades away, the harder you strum the note the longer it lasts.

Shifting- It's one of the basics and most important techniques to play the guitar, it consists on moving your hand your up and down the neck of the guitar to place where the notes are played.

Hammer-ons & Pull-offs- These two techniques are used to play many notes without strumming them, they are done in a fast and precise movement. Hammer-ons are done after you pick a note and then quickly put you finger on another note (on the same string) when done correctly the nota that is hammered should also be eared. Pull-offs are the opposite, instead of hammering a note you antecipate by putting your finger on the note you want and pull-off from the note your playing. Pull-offs are harder to do beaucuse if you just realese the note your playing the other won't be high enough to be heard, so when you pull-off the note try to actually pull a bit of the string so you an extra vibration for the other note to have more sound.

Slides- A Slide is performd by playing a note and then sliding your finger (never letting go of the string) on the fretboard until you reach the note you want. You can sllide up or down the fretboard and the harder you a pick a note the higher will the note you slide in louder.

Bend- The objective of bending a note is to increase it's pitch, the more you bend the higher the pitch of the bended note. To bend a note (as the name says) pick the note and then bend the string. If you are new to the guitar and to this technique I advice doing this with your third finger and using the other two to help bending. In my opinion, Bends and Slides are the ones that are going to kill your fingers the most.

Harmonics- This one is a bit harder. Harmonics are notes that have a very pitch and can't be achieved in the simple act of picking or bending a note, they are also hidden in the fretboard. Instead of being played on the frethouses, harmonics are played on the frets (those pieces pf metal that spilt the fretboard and separete fret houses from each other). To do an Harmonic slightly place your finger over the fret that you want play, after you play it take of your finger and let the harmonic sound.
Here are the possitions of the Harmonics on the fretboard:
