[top]Tips & Strategies

Tips:
Collect gems early in the game. You will want to upgrade most of your powers early as this will make the game easier.
Use special attacks on groups of enemies. This makes the task an easier experience.
Save the challenges for the end, as you can go back to any one of them and they are easier with upgraded powers.

Strategies:
  • Challenges:
Each challenge is different. Try to memorize the the gravity slide ones as well as the one you need to hit every portal. This makes it a lot easier to beat the scores.

For the defeat the Nevi ones, it is easier to use a special attack on them as you can hit multiple ones faster. This helps you earn the score faster.

For the challenges where you need to use the Stasis Field it is best to have your gravity gauge and stasis field maxed out. This makes it so you can use gravity longer and hold more and larger objects.

- These green signs mean there is a place where you need to use some precious gems to unlock a challenge.
- The blue speech bubble are people you need to talk to. They give out hints and rumors.
- These are story missions in which you need to complete.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1: Story
Play through the story. Here you will get all the story related trophies. You will also find and open challenge along the way. You DO NOT have to do these right now because at the end of the game you have free roam where you can go back to everything. Finding the manholes will also help a lot as well but again, NOT needed right now.

Step 2: Clean - up
Once you have the story completed you can go back to finish up the challenges, find the manholes, collect the gems and complete the lost couples.

[top]
Ancient Game Hunter
Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Ruins.

You can either do this when Gade first brings you here, or you can wait until you have access to it again.

Area:
After you have reached the second flower, fly down to the bottom where you will see a circular entrance. Go inside the hole to find the Nevi.

Tactic:
This is fairly simple. The only thing that will not work on the Nevi are special attacks. Stay above it and keep hitting it with gravity kicks. If you stay close enough to the Nevi it will not shoot missiles at you.

[top]
Burning Game Hunter
Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Inferno.

You can either do this when Gade first brings you here, or you can wait until you have access to it again.

Area: From the second flower, float down and around until you seen a wooden boarder around an entrance. Go into the entrance to find the Rare Nevi.

Tactic:
Remember, special attacks will not work. The best thing to do is the Gravity Kick to the orbs on the Nevi. Gravity Kicks are used when you are floating and hit . Wait for the Nevi to swing his arm out then go in for the attack. This Nevi is entirely difficult if you just avoid his hits.

[top]
Illusory Game Hunter
Defeated the rare Nevi in Rift Planes: The Mirage.

You can either do this when Gade first brings you here, or you can wait until you have access to it again. I would suggest returning here later on when you have upgraded your gravity gauge.

Area:
Right after the second flower, look to the right and start flying out there. You'll eventually see a Red ball kinda floating out there. When you get close enough to it, the Rare Nevi will appear.

Tactic:
No special attacks. This one is the hardest of the three though because most of the time he is shooting red balls at you. When he stops is your cue to head in with some gravity kicks. If you see your health getting low, fly back to the second flower to get some health then head back out.

[top]
Frequent Flyer
Landed 10 gravity kicks without landing or taking damage.

This is fairly easy when you do it in the first challenge you encounter. Here the enemies are much weaker and are less likely to attack as much. This is also a bit easier if you upgrade your gravity gauge first. This will help you stay up in the air a bit longer.

First, hit the (shoulder button) to activate your gravity. Target an enemy and hit to gravity kick them. Do this to 9 other enemies around you before you land on the ground or get hit.

[top]
Pitching Machine
Hurled 10 objects into enemies without missing or taking damage.

The easiest place to get this done is one of the challenges in the first town. This is way easier if you have your stasis field maxed out as well. You simply need to use to pick up objects and again to throw them at an enemy. Do this to 10 enemies while avoiding being hit by their attacks or missing.

[top]
Gravitational Anomaly
Defeated 8 enemies with one special attack.

The best way to do this is to fully upgrade your second special attack, the Gravity Typhoon. This attack is activated when the pink dot in the gravity circle, located in the top left hand corner of the screen, is there. When the pink dot is there press the left analog stick up and hitting at the same time. This attack shoots out rocks at the enemies. This is easily done in one of the challenges that requires you to beat a certain amount of Nevi in a certain time limit.

[top]
New Challenger
Cleared a challenge.

You find challenges all over the towns. You must first use gems to activate the mechanical device and the challenge will appear. You don't have to earn a medal in it, you just have to complete it.

See All That Glitters for some tips.

[top]
True Challenger
Cleared EVERY challenge.

You do NOT need to get a medal in the challenges for this to count. You will need to just play each challenge to the end. The challenges are found all over the cities. Each challenge is different.

See All That Glitters for details and maps.

[top]
Gold Medalist
Gold-medaled a challenge.

See All That Glitters for details and maps.

[top]
Silver Lining
Earned a silver or better in every challenge.

See All That Glitters for details and maps.

[top]
All That Glitters
Gold-medaled EVERY challenge.

Throughout each town there are challenges you need to complete. You don't need to do them to complete the story though. Each challenge is a different task, some more difficult then others. Simply beat the score or time they provide to receive the gold medal. This is the most challenging trophy of the game and will take some time. Some challenges will really be annoying and challenging as compared to others.

The challenges are the yellow spots. The yellow spots with the * on it is NOT a challenge but transportation.

There are a total of 16 spots where these 2 travels are found. If you run into them during your game play, then talk to them but they do not appear on your map. If you wait until you have beaten the game, then when you enter a new part of the map it will tell you how many you have left in the area. They are, for the most part, well hidden, so you really need to look for them.

Gem Aficionado
Collected a total of 40,000 precious gems.

There are gems scattered everywhere. You have to look high and low to find them. Using your gravity powers comes in handy here as well. You will also receive a great deal of gems from completing the challenges too. Each town has numerous gems in them. You just have to look for them.

This does NOT have to be what you have on you. This is the total you have even if you spend them.

Top Cat
Raised Kat's reputation to “Top Cat.”

You will get the rank of "Top Cat" when you finish the story, after you complete chapter 21. After you have completed a chapter your rank rises as well as when you unlock challenges.
