[top]Tips & Strategies
- Try different lures. Some lures work better then others with the fish. What lures work with which fish, weather and condition is still unknown.
- Use the R corner button to zoom in and see where the fish are.
- Try to avoid the little fish if you can. If you let them bite your lure but don't hook, they will let go.
- When in the World Tournament, save after each tournament. This way, if you are in first, and happen to mess up, you can reload the save point and try it again.
- Don't stay in one spot to long when fishing, eventually the fish will disappear. Keep moving to the left or the right.
- Upgrade your skills when you have the points to do so. This will help with the challenges and the tournaments.
[top]Roadmap
Step One:
Play through the World Tour as any of the characters. There are three classes you need to complete with the character during the World Tour.
As you complete the World Tour, different courses will unlock for you for the Challenges.
Step Two:
Complete the Challenges. There are 11 Themed Challenges. Each theme has 4 seasons to them and each season has 3 different challenges for you to complete. Complete the challenge by doing what it ask, and receive a star. Get three stars on each season to unlock a lure at the end of each season. You will need to complete all the challenges as well as complete 5 challenges with each of the characters. The best way to do this is do 5 with Jamie, 5 with Ryuji, 5 with Kano and 5 with Ai. All the challenges are combined, so if you complete the Lodge with Kano, and start the challenge with Jamie, the Lodge will still have the stars.
Complete the World Tour with the other three characters you have left. You will have all lures available to you that you unlocked from the challenges.

Total Domination!

Collected all of the stars in Challenge Mode
There are 11 challenges you will need to complete. To star each one, you must play each of the 4 seasons within the challenges. In each of the seasons you must get a star on each of the three *missions* within the seasons. So, you need 12 stars per challenge to get a star on the challenge.
So you will need to have a total of 132 stars to have starred every challenge.

Super big fish are hard to come by. You will more than likely continue to catch fish between 1 lb and 6 lbs. You will know you have a big fish when you hook it and it struggles a lot. As soon as you reel the fish in, look at the top and it will say something like Enormous or something. The trophy will pop after this. Usually the fish will be around 10 lbs.

Half full Tacklebox

Acquired half of all lure types.
Lures can be acquired two different ways. During the tournament mode, certain tournaments reward you with lures. Not all of them though, you just have to look at the tournament when you enter it and see. The other way is during the challenges. Every time you get 3 stars per challenge, you can pick a colored circle which contains a lure.

By winning certain tournaments or completing challenges, you are rewarded with lures. Just keep playing the World Tour and winning or do some challenges and you will receive your first lure.
