[top]Tips & Strategies

First of all you're gonna want to have a good feel for how MotorStorm: RC works, how each car controls and also you're gonna want to learn the different courses. Memorizing where each turn is, while that isn't an easy task it pays off in the long run. Since there's only five or so courses in this Carnival DLC learning each one is significantly easier than the main game. Here are some general tips:
  • Slow and steady - taking each turn without accelerating really pays off, it keeps you under control of your car and allows you to shave some time off (believe it or not).
  • Change the controls (PS Vita only) - I found it much easier to change the acceleration button to instead of pushing up.
  • Choose the best, leave the rest - change your vehicle to the highest one unlocked (except the silly ones, you'll know if it's a real car if you can customize the paint job/color) as they are usually the better vehicles.
  • Avoid walls - walls can significantly slow you down and that's something that can ruin your time. Avoid driving along walls. It's also a good idea to avoid other cars, getting stuck behind a car will slow you right down.

Step 1: Finish Each Event

This step is solely for getting used to each event and track, getting comfortable and even memorizing turns in them. Try to get all three medals when you can, but I suggestion leaving them for the next step. If you manage to get all three medals in a few tracks, you should get The Triple Triple and possibly Half Loaded.

Step 2: Earn All Three Medals In Each Event

Now is when you'll want to focus on getting all medals for each event. By now you should be very used to the tracks in the Carnival DLC, with only a few events that may give you some trouble. Completing this step will net you Perfect Stormer.

Step 3: Shave Off Your Overall Time

You'll now want to lower the overall time in the Carnival festival to under 17 seconds. Replay earlier events and try to shave seconds off your time. Each second is precious, so shaving off two or three seconds in an event is helpful in the long-run. I would suggest playing Race and Pursuit events, as they are ones that last longer (upwards of a minute or so) and give you more time to be faster, if you catch my drift. Finishing this step will unlock the final trophy, Carnival Champion.

The Triple Triple
Win all 3 medals on any Carnival Festival event.

This will be the first trophy you earn in this DLC. Simply earn all three medals in any event, which will most likely be the first one, Treading Water. For tips on how to get the medals, see Perfect Stormer.

Half Loaded
Earn 36 medals within the Carnival Festival.

This trophy will unlock once you have all three medals on eight different events. If you're getting three medals on each event as you go along, you should have this after Smack Your Beach Up. For tips on how to earn all three medals, see Perfect Stormer.

Perfect Stormer
Earn all 3 medals on each of the 24 Carnival Festival events.

You earn three stars for completing whatever objectives each event has you do either within a certain time limit or just finishing first in general. There's a total of 24 events in the Carnical DLC and none are too difficult to earn all three medals in, but some may take more tries than others. There are four different kinds of events:
  • Race - Finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd to win medals
  • Hot Lap - Beat the target times to win medals
  • Pursuit - Overtake the target number of cars as fast as you can to win medals
  • Drift - Score the total drift points quicker than the target times to win medals

Carnival Champion
Set a time of 17:00 or less across all Carnival Festival events.

To check your total time for the Pro-Am festival, on the main-menu go to Festival Carnival but don't select it. If you just look at the card it will tell you the time under the friends section. All you have to do is get this time under 17:00, and you should be able to easily do that after getting all three medals. For tips on each event, see Perfect Stormer.
