Earn every trophy in the game

[top]
Creator
Create a character

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
Start a new game, choose a charm, a class and customize your character. Have a look at the Tips & Strategies section if you are unsure what charm or class to pick. Once you are done start your adventure in the dungeons under Silent Hill (if that's where the game is supposed to take place ) and your trophy will unlock.

Consumer
Make a purchase in Howard's shop

Howard is the mailman from Silent Hill: Downpour. Weird, I plat'ed SH: Downpour and even wrote the trophy guide for that game, yet I had no idea what this guy's name was... Anyway, good ol' Howard has a shop in every zone. Actually it's your objective in zone 1 to find his shop. Once you've found it purchase something and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Light Napper
Complete Zone 1

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
All you have to do is to complete the first 12 zones and this trophy will unlock. ...kidding, the first zone will do.

[top]
Deep Sleeper
Complete Zone 50

See Comatose below for details.

[top]
Comatose
Complete Zone 100

The story line of Silent Hill: Book of Memories ends after the 21st zone. Zones after that are generated randomly, they can be Fire, Wood, Light, Water, Earth, Blood or Steel. What you'll do in those zones will still count towards your karma for the relevant zone. You can also aquire the notes, broadcasts, forsaken rooms and even the different endings by just grinding your way to zone 100.

Unforunately, there is no easy way for this. How big a zone is is solely dependant on its number of challenge orbs. So it doesn't matter if your zone is Fire, Steel, Earth or whatever, if it says 0/7 Challenge Orbs in the bottom left corner you are in for a long ass zone. You could back out, start an earlier zone to reset the crap you just generated and then come back for your latest zone, hoping for only 5 Challenge Orbs this time around (there don't seem to be zones with only 4 Orbs after zone 21). However, given the long loading times of the game biting down on something hard and just beating the zone seems to be the better option.

Flash Burst
and Steel Sword are your best friends. If you run into a room with a Boogeyman and/or a Butcher always use Flash Burst first and eliminate all other threads. Same counts for Pyramid Heads actually even though they are not that dangerous. After that, take care of the big guy. You should always carry a Boogeyman's Hammer, a Great Cleaver and a Great Knife with you, so you can beat those bastards at their own game for Hammer Time, Choice Meat and Pyramid Scheme. It's gonna be a grind and it's gonna be boring as hell, but eventually you'll reach zone 100 and this trophy will unlock.

[top]
Novice
Level up to LVL 2

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
Yeah, a Silent Hill game which is a dungeon crawler with RPG elements. All my dreams have come true. Anyway, level 2, and your trophy, will both come in no time.

[top]
Apprentice
Level up to LVL 25

See Master below.

[top]
Master
Level up to LVL 50

Chances are that you'll reach zone 100 before hitting level 50. Time to do some farming. The higher the zone the more exp you'll get per kill. If you are lucky you'll get a mission which turns all enemies in zone 100 to Pyramid Heads. Once you've gotten this mission go find the save point and save your game. Kill all the Pyramid Heads, then save your game again and restart the level. The enemies will have respawned for another round. Rinse and repeat until you reach level 50.

Of course you could also just play online, helping to make this game's online a little less dead.

[top]
Choice Meat
Defeat 25 Butchers with the Great Cleaver

Well, first you'll need a Great Cleaver obviously. You can get one either as a reward for a mission from Vatiel or as a random loot in later zones. Kill 25 butchers with it and the trophy will unlock. I recommend going for this trophy after you've bought the upgrades for your backpack, so you can carry around a Great Cleaver at all times. Just make sure to use it for the finishing blow for every butcher you encounter and you'll get this trophy on your way to zone 100 without having to do any farming at all.

[top]
Disorderly Conduct
Defeat 25 Nurses with the Steel Pipe

Steel pipes can be found as random loot or they are dropped by nurses. Every time you encounter a nurse let her feel your steel pipe. Once you are done with 25 nurses your trophy will unlock.

[top]
Hammer Time
Defeat 25 Bogeymen with the Bogeyman's Hammer

While the Bogeyman was a lame duck in Silent Hill: Downpour he is a real bitch in Book of Memories. Especially in later zones he can easily one shot you. Remember that you don't have to do all the work with the Bogeyman's Hammer. Use ranged weapons to weaken him and just deliver the final blow with the Hammer. Oh, and if you were wondering where to find a Bogeyman's Hammer: Unfortunately they don't drop them very often, so you might have to wait until you find one in later zones or until Vatiel rewards you with one for a quest.

[top]
Pyramid Scheme
Defeat 25 Pyramid Heads with the Great Knife

The Great Knife is a very slow weapon, but it has a good range and does high damage. You can get it as a reward form Vatiel (Zone 8 in my case, but this might vary) or as random loot in later zones. As with Bogeyman's Hammer and Great Cleaver you should always carry a Great Knife around, in case you run into a Pyramid Head. You don't have to use the Great Knife for the whole fight, just make sure to deliver the final blow with it. After you've killed your 25th Pyramid Head the trophy will unlock.

Light Heal Me
Use Heal Me Karma Ability to restore 25% or more health

Light Heal Me is the first of the three light Karma abilities. To use it you'll need Karma... obviously. Check your Karma gauge on the upper right corner of the screen. It's divided into five segments. At the beginning of the game your Karma marker will be in the middle. Being in the middle gets you nowhere, you need to collect either blood or ash to move your Karma marker towards the blood (left) or the light (right) side. See the Tips & Strategies section on how to farm Karma.

To use Light Heal Me you need to be in the second segment from the right or higher (just like in the picture above). Tap your Karma gauge and select the Light Heal Me ability. Its icon looks exactly like the trophy image. Before you tap it make sure there is at least one enemy around! Moreover, you need to have lost at least 25% of your health for this to work. Now tap the icon and use the rear touch panel to drain health from your enemies. Once you managed to refill 25% of your health meter using this method the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Light Heal You
Use Heal You Karma Ability to restore 50% or more health to a friend (multiplayer)

This is an online/ad hoc mode trophy
Light Heal You is the second of the three light Karma abilities.

To use Light Heal You you need to be in the first segment from the right or higher (just like in the picture above). Tap your Karma gauge and select the Light Heal Me ability. Its icon looks exactly like the trophy image. Before you tap it make sure there is at least one enemy around! Moreover, you need a buddy around who has less than 50 % health. Now tap the icon and use the rear touch panel to "draw a line". You have to get an enemy and your buddy between the starting and the end point of this line and the monster's HP will be drained into your friend. Heal him/her 50% + and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Light Heal Us
Use Heal Us Karma Ability to restore 50% or more health each to 3 players (multiplayer)

This is an online/ad hoc mode trophy
Light Heal US is the third of the three light Karma abilities.

To use Light Heal Us you need to have your light Karma maxed out, that means your Karma marker has to be on the very left just like in the picture above. Now all you need is three partners with their health bars under 50 %. It's almost impossible to get this trophy with randoms, so check out The Official Silent Hill: Book of Memories Boosting Thread for help. If everyone comes with full light Karma all you have to do is to find a room with a trap. Use the trap to lose health, than start healing each other still everyone got the trophy. You do not need enemies around for this Karma healing ability to work.

[top]
Blood Barrage
Use Blood Barrage Karma Ability to kill 5 or more enemies

Blood Barrage is the first of the three Blood Karma abilities. To use it you'll need Karma... obviously. Check your Karma gauge on the upper right corner of the screen. I's divided into five segments. At the beginning of the game your Karma marker will be in the middle. Being in the middle gets you nowhere, you need to collect either blood or ash to move your Karma marker towards the blood (left) or the light (right) side. See the Tips & Strategies section on how to farm Karma.

Now to get this trophy you need to kill 5 enemies in a row with this ability. Make sure that there are 5+ easy-to-kill enemies around before attempting this or you'll just waste karma. Once you've found a good room trigger the ability by tapping the karma gauge and then the icon in the middle (it looks like the trophy image above) and start using the rear touch panel to select the enemies you want to kill. After the fifth enemy the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Blood Beam
Use Blood Beam Karma Ability on 5 or more enemies at once

Blood Beam is the second of the three Blood Karma abilities. For this ability you'll want your Karma marker to be in the first segment on the left, just like in the picture.

To trigger this ability you need your Karma to be in the first segment on the left, just like in the picture about. Tap the Karma gauge and select the ability in the middle. Now to get this trophy you need to kill 5 enemies at once with this ability. Make sure that there are 5+ easy-to-kill enemies around before attempting this or you'll just waste karma. I found a nice room in zone 8 with two mothers spitting out 5 of those little worms each, but since the zones are generated randomly you might find something similar in different zones. However, you need 5 easy enemies; try to get them huddled together as closely as possible and then trigger the ability. Use two fingers to form a line on the rear touch panel which goes through your little group and hopefully you will kill them all. Ding! Trophy!

[top]
Blood Burn
Use Blood Burn Karma Ability to damage 4 different enemy types at once

Blood Burn is the third of the three Blood Karma abilities.

To trigger this ability you need your blood Karma maxed out, just like in the picture above. Tap the Karma gauge and select the ability which looks like the trophy image. To unlock the trophy you need to damage 4 different kinds of enemies at once. You do not need to kill them.

[top]
Power Breaker
Use Weapon Breaker Power Move with a weapon that's about to shatter

Keep checking Howard's shop, sooner or later this ability will become available. Wait until your current weapon is deep red, then press and in front of an enemy (gem required). Make sure it's not your best weapon, because it will break in the process. Ding! Trophy!

[top]
Power Charger
Use Charge Tackle Power Move to knock one enemy into another

Keep checking Howard's shop, sooner or later this ability will become available. Now search for a group of enemies, then press and to Charge Tackle. Of course you need a gem for this to work. If everything goes as planned you'll push an enemy into the others. That's it. Easy, right?

[top]
Power Flasher
Use Flash Burst Power Move to kill 5 or more stunned enemies in a row

This is a really useful Power Move, buy it at Howard's as soon as it becomes available. As with all Power Moves, you'll need a gem to activate it. Look out for a room with 5+ enemies. Stun them with and and then kill at least 5 of them while they are still stunned. Use a powerful weapon and try this in a low zone and it shouldn't be a problem.

[top]
Power Inverter
Use Karma Flip Power Move to flip 8 or more enemies at once

With the Karma Flip you can change your enemies form blood to light and vice versa. Provided you have a gem all you need to do is to press and and voilá - Karma flipped. Note that this doesn't work on steel enemies. You'll find rooms with 8+ enemies in later zones. Just flip 'em all and the trophy will be yours.

[top]
Power Repeller
Use Push Force Power Move to knock 8 or more enemies back at once

Push Force is another Power Move which you can buy at Howard's Shop. If you have a gem you can activate it with and . Wait for a room with at least 8 enemies and activate the ability when they are in the vicinity. If everything goes as planned your trophy will unlock.

[top]
Power Savior
Use Health Siphon Power Move to bring a dying friend back to life (multiplayer)

This is an online/ad hoc mode trophy
This is another
Power Move which can be bought at Howard's Shop. As with all Power Moves you need a gem to use it. Press and near a dying coop buddy and your health will be siphoned into your friend, saving him form the clutches of death. Ding! Another easy trophy done.

[top]
Power Switcher
Use 360 Attack Power Move to strike 4 or more enemies at once

Provided you have a gem and the Power Move (check Howard's Shop, it will become available in the early zones already) you can perform a devastating swirl attack by pressing and rotating the right stick. You need to hit at least 4 enemies at once with this attack and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Beast Master
Defeat any Guardian without taking damage

Beat the game and you'll get the Steel Sword. You also should be around level 12 now. Return to the Fire Guardian, avoid his initial flamethrower attack and then start hitting the shit out of him. Shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 hits maximum. Ding! Trophy. Pffft, n00b-guardian!

[top]
Beat Maniac
Earn a 30 or greater timed hit combo

This can be done in the Forsaken Room in the Blood Zones. Equip a knife or a cleaver or another weapon it is easy to perform combos with. You need to equip the weapon before you enter the Forsaken Room because you can't switch weapons once you are inside. Now start attacking the cage, pressing the attack button again right at the moment of impact. If you screw up just leave the room and get yourself killed to try again. If the Forsaken Room happens to be too far from the entrance you might want to find the save room first. It might take you a couple of tries but it shouldn't be too much of an issue. Once you score your 30th hit the trophy will unlock instantly.

[top]
Blacksmith
Level up 10 different weapons

Levelling up a weapon takes ages, making this a bit of a grind. Check your weapons list in the Book of Memories and you'll notice that each weapon has an exp bar. Level up ten of them at least to level 1 and the trophy will unlock. Check Arms Dealer for a complete list of all weapons.

[top]
Bleeder
Lose more than 400% health in one Zone without dying

Just equip as many Med Kits as possible and start losing health. You can either 'use' enemies or traps for that. Keep taking damage until you are on the brink of death, then heal yourself. 400% means your life bar x4, so unless your backpack is fully leveled up you'll most likely run out of med kits before the trophy unlocks. Search around for more or simple buy some at Howard's. You could also use Light Heal Me I guess. Just make sure not to die and the trophy will unlock eventually.

[top]
Bouncer
Complete a Zone using only your fists (no weapons)

Just replay the first zone without having a weapon equipped. Beat all those nightmares to pulp and your trophy will unlock after the stage.

[top]
Braniac
Complete any 5 puzzles without using the hint lever

All the puzzles are pretty easy so this shouldn't be an issue. You always have to sort things, from light to dark, from purple to 'flames', which is red obviously (you have to sort them according to the color circle), from big to small or the other way around. You get the idea. There is a Puzzle Note in every level, make sure to grab it and you shouldn't have too many issues. Here is how to sort the stuff:
  • top to bottom: 'were cast from heaven'
  • bottom to top: 'rose from the abyss'
  • left to right: 'headed to the east'
  • right to left: 'followed the setting sun
  • clockwise
  • counter-clockwise (e.g. 'to reverse time')
  • in reading direction
  • reading direction mirrored

Solve five puzzles without using the hint lever and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Executioner
Perform a timed execution on 10 enemies in one Zone

For a timed execution you need to get a combo going up to five hits. You will then be prompted to perform an execution move with . Obviously you mustn't use too powerful weapons when going for this trophy or you will never reach hit 5. Use a cleaver or another weaker weapon you are comfortable with. Enemies like Insane Cancers, Flesh Lips and Mothers are perfect for this. You need 10 timed executions in one level and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Klutz
Trigger every kind of trap in the game

This trophy is story related and cannot be missed.
Seriously, it is. There is no other way to detect a trap than to activate it; there is simply no way to beat the game without havieng activated every kind of trap even once. Whooohoo!

[top]
Medic
Drop a health pack after a friend requests one (multiplayer)

This is an online/ad hoc mode trophy
First of all, you need your coop buddy to ask for a med pack. Do do this they have to press . Now just be the good kid your mom taught you to be and press  and tap a med pack on your inventory. Ding! Your kindness is rewarded by a trophy!

[top]
Moneybags
Spend over 250,000 MR in Howard's shop

No worries, you'll get this on your way to Zone 100. Just keep investing your MR and the trophy will unlock eventually.

[top]
Ninja
Complete a Zone without turning on your flashlight

Just replay the first zone without turning on your flashlight. Drawers with items won't glow as they do when your flashlight hits them, but you'll still get and prompt near them. Just check all the walls for drawers so you won't miss a key and this trophy will be done in minutes.

[top]
Sugar High
Complete a Zone without stopping for more than 30 seconds total

Just replay the first zone and keep moving! Transactions at Howard's Shop count towards this, so refrain from hanging around at his counter. You could also get this together with Ninja to double the fun.

[top]
Tommfoolery
Perform every in-game VO clip for one character

VO comments are meant to help you to communicate with other players, but luckily enough they work in single player, too. Press to open the VO commands menu. From here you can press for 4 Requests, for 4 different Commands, for 4 Tactics and for 4 different Comments options. Your character has two different lines for most of the commands, so make sure to play around with them until you heard them both. Just away until the trophy unlocks.

[top]
Wingman
Defeat any Guardian with all four players still alive (multiplayer)

This is an online/ad hoc mode trophy
The hardest part is to get a lobby with four players, you might want to boost this. Just replay the Fire Guardian, beating him with four people is a matter of spit seconds. Unless one of you guys is the worst uber n00b imaginable you should all survive the battle and the trophy will unlock.

Achieve the NEUTRAL ending in every Forsaken Room

Each zone has one unique forsaken room. Every forsaken room tells a little story. Your actions in the forsaken rooms determine if those stories have a good (light), a neutral or a bad (blood) ending. Below is a guide for for the three endings of each room.

Room Endings Guide
Light: Just stay where you are.

Neutral: Follow the girl one or two times, then stop bothering her.

Blood: Keep following the girl and scare the shit out of her
Light: Just stay where you awwwww.

Neutral: Kill the father.

Blood: Kill both parents.
Light: Approach the crib and admire the baby.

Neutral: Hit the crip one or two times, don't destroy it though.

Blood: Destroy the crip.
Light: Destroy all the nurses and save the girl.

Neutral: Destroy one or two nurses or just remain where you are.

Blood: Kill the girl.
Light: Encourage her: (command: go ahead) (random comment) (comment: yes) (exclamation)

Neutral: Don't do anything at all.

Blood: Taunt her: (command: follow me) (command: stay here) (tactics: rear) down: (comments: no)
Light: Just stay where you are.

Neutral: Destroy a couple of TVs.

Blood: Destroy all the TVs (only the TV which is currently playing can be destroyed, speed is important here,
since you have to be finished before the news report comes to an end; the drill worked perfectly for me.
Light: Destroy the lamps, leave the radio on the center table alone.

Neutral: Stay still and listen to all the

Blood: Destroy everything.

Emissary
Complete Valtiel's missions in Zones 1 through 21

Vatiel will bother you with random missions throughout the game. He is all 'you shall not pass' until you accept his crap. His missions range from killing a certain enemy, guiding a fricking dog through the zone, collecting stuff off drawers and many other random things. He will reward you with weapons or artefacts though, so at least it's worth your trouble.

The only mission I ever had trouble with was 'kill steel first'. You come to a room crowded with enemies, blood, light and steel creatures. You mustn't kill more than 3 of the blood and light creatures before you have dealt with the steel ones. Steel enemies are the gray ones. If you are not sure use to lock on and have a look at the color of their names. All the other missions are really self-explanatory, some are even unmissable.

After you have completed all of Vatiel's quests in zones 1-21 the trophy will unlock. You can always check your progress on the zone select screen.

[top]
Storyteller
Achieve all 6 of the game's endings

This is really complicated. It all boils down to the notes you find in the game. There are flavor notes, challenge notes, world notes and finally a boss note. There are ten notes for each zone, 11-20 for fire, 21-30 for wood and so on. The three challenge notes tell you what to do to influence the world notes. These in turn will influence the boss note. Boss notes can be either light or blood. Depending on the number of light or blood boss notes you collected you'll see a different ending after beating the Steel Guardian. There are 5 normal endings and one joke endings. The guys over on relyonhorror.com compiled a really thorough guide for the different ending. There is really nothing more to add to this guide, so I just want to thank them for their work and link you to it: relyonhorror.com's Silent Hill: Book of Memories Endings Guide.

Complete your Rooms Checklist 100%

Unless you were playing multiplayer you should get this trophy before reaching zone 21. The rooms will be added to the Book of Memories automatically, all you have to do is to walk into them. Forsaken Rooms will only spawn in SP games, so you might have to replay some zones if you decided to beat the game with a friend. The remaining 8 rooms will spawn randomly, but sometimes you even get two of them in the same room, so it shouldn't take ages until you've seen them all.

You can always check your progress in the Book of Memories.

Eventually, your trophy will unlock.
