Prove your mental might with Smart As, the ultimate brain training experience exclusively available for PlayStationŽVita (PS Vita). Built from the ground up for PS Vita by Climax Studios, Smart As challenges players to test their brain power with 20 unique mini-games which utilize the platform's touch screens, front and rear facing cameras and augmented reality capabilities. Smart As offers daily challenges which include Logic, Arithmetic, Language and Observation based exercises to work all of the major lobes of the brain. [top]Tips & Strategies

  • Save yourself a lot of time by changing the date for the date-related trophies.
  • If traveling is an option for you, try to travel to other cities as much as possible and use Wifi Hotspots or your 3G network to make the Street Smart trophies take less time. Otherwise, it will take at least 3 months to unlock all of them.
  • One of the ways the Free Play games unlock is by playing Daily Training. Since you have to do 30 Daily Training games anyway you should focus on them first so that all of the Free Play games will be unlocked by the time you move on to them.
  • All of the difficulties in the Free Play games are locked except for Easy. You can unlock each difficulty level by getting 3 stars or by replaying that particular game until the next difficulty unlocks.


[top]Roadmap

1. Daily Training

Start off by working on Daily Training. You can change the date in between each one and by the time you have done 30 sessions you will have unlocked: 1st Day At School, Home Work, Star Pupil, Graduate, Marked Improvement, and Bright Spark.

2. Free Play Games

Next work on the Free Play games. Continue changing the date in between each game. Focus on getting 3 stars on each difficulty level and if you are struggling getting 3 stars on any of the games you can unlock the next difficulty simply by replaying the same game several times. By the time you are done with this step you should have unlocked: Logical Progression, You Do The Math, First Word, I See What You Did There, Logical Conclusion, All Adds Up, The Final Word, Perfect Vision, Stroke of Genius, Absolute Genius, Just Testing, Mind Game, Brain Surgery, Rocket Science, Heavy Brain, and Perfect Attendance.

3. Street Smart Challenges

Although this is step 3 you should try to do a Street Smart Challenge as soon as possible because the challenges take a week (172 hours) to expire until you can do another one. If possible, try to travel with your Vita to another city (so that you can unlock that city's challenge) and find a Wifi hotspot or use your 3G if you have it as this will greatly help reduce the time to get these trophies. After you are done with this step and earned 100 stars, you will have unlocked: Smart Move, Day Tripper, Commuter, Explorer, and Globe Trotter.

4. Clean-up

The only trophy that you might have left that I didn't put in the previous steps is Brainiac. For this trophy you just need to play all of the Free Play games in a single day. You can do this at any time as soon as you have all of the games unlocked.

Perfect Attendance
Play Smart As on 100 different dates

For this trophy you need to play Smart As on 100 different dates. You can either get this legitimately by playing Smart As every day for the next 3+ months or you can change the date 100 times.

To change the date on your Vita follow these steps:
  • Go to Settings
  • Click on Date & Time
  • Click on Date & Time Settings
  • Click on Set Manually
  • Change the date to any date in the future
  • Press OK
  • Press the PS Button
  • Scroll back over to Smart As

I recommend changing the date for every session of Daily Training until you get Graduate then change the date in between every Free Play game that you complete. This should help maximize your time and trophies as it will take a while to unlock all of the difficulties in Free Play. Once you have played Smart As on 100 different dates the trophy will unlock.

1st Day at School
Complete your first session of Daily Training

This will probably be the first trophy you get. When you are in the Main Menu of the game, click on the calendar on the left and press Start. You will have to play through 4 different random games that will test you in Logic, Arithmetic, Language, and Observation. Play through all of the games and at the end you will unlock this trophy.

Home Work
Complete 10 sessions of Daily Training

Star Pupil
Complete 20 sessions of Daily Training

Graduate
Complete 30 sessions of Daily Training

For this trophy you need to complete 30 sessions of Daily Training. You can get this trophy legitimately and play a session of Daily Training every day for 30 days or you can change the date on your Vita and get it much faster.

To change the date on your Vita follow these steps:
  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click on Date & Time
  3. Click on Date & Time Settings
  4. Click on Set Manually
  5. Change the date to any date in the future
  6. Press OK
  7. Press the PS Button
  8. Scroll back over to Smart As

I included step 8 and 9 as it will make it faster to keep the Settings on standby so you can easily change the date after each Daily Training session.

Marked Improvement
Increase your Brain Power score

To increase your brain power score you just need to have a higher score than your previous one. You can get this easily by scoring poorly on a Daily Training session and then just make sure you get a better score for the next days Daily Training. Once you complete the Daily Training and it shows your improved percentage the trophy will unlock.

Logical Progression
Play a Logic Free Play Game

This is another easy trophy to obtain. From the Main Menu, press the die on the right and then press on the puzzle piece that says Logic above it. Select whichever game you would like to play and play all the way through it. At the end of the game the trophy will unlock.

You Do The Math
Play an Arithmetic Free Play Game

This is another easy trophy to obtain. From the Main Menu, press the die on the right and then press on the 7 that says Arithmetic above it. Select whichever game you would like to play and play all the way through it. At the end of the game the trophy will unlock.

First Word
Play a Language Free Play Game

This is another easy trophy to obtain. From the Main Menu, press the die on the right and then press on the A that says Language above it. Select whichever game you would like to play and play all the way through it. At the end of the game the trophy will unlock.

I See What You Did There
Play an Observation Free Play Game

This is another easy trophy to obtain. From the Main Menu, press the die on the right and then press on the magnifying glass that says Observation above it. Select whichever game you would like to play and play all the way through it. At the end of the game the trophy will unlock.

Logical Conclusion
Play all Logic Games

When you first start off the game most of the Free Play games will be locked, but they will gradually unlock as you do the Daily Challenges. I recommend working on the Graduate trophy first and by the time you're done all of the Free Play games should be unlocked.

To unlock this trophy you just need to complete all of the games in the Logic Free Play area.

The games you need to complete are:
  • Cube Mania
  • Path Finder
  • Live Jigsaw
  • Roller Blocks
  • Chain Reaction

Once you have completed all of the games above, the trophy will unlock.

All Adds Up
Play all Arithmetic Games

When you first start off the game most of the Free Play games will be locked, but they will gradually unlock as you do the Daily Challenges. I recommend working on the Graduate trophy first and by the time you're done all of the Free Play games should be unlocked.

To unlock this trophy you just need to complete all of the games in the Arithmetic Free Play area.

The games you need to complete are:
  • Less Equals More
  • Bubble Sum
  • Calculations Plus
  • Number Pinch
  • Sum Sequence

Once you have completed all of the games above, the trophy will unlock.

The Final Word
Play all Language Games

When you first start off the game most of the Free Play games will be locked, but they will gradually unlock as you do the Daily Challenges. I recommend working on the Graduate trophy first and by the time you're done all of the Free Play games should be unlocked.

To unlock this trophy you just need to complete all of the games in the Language Free Play area.

The games you need to complete are:
  • Word Wheel
  • Spell It
  • Alpha Trap
  • Lost Letter
  • Odd Word Out

Once you have completed all of the games above, the trophy will unlock.

Perfect Vision
Play all Observation Games

When you first start off the game most of the Free Play games will be locked, but they will gradually unlock as you do the Daily Challenges. I recommend working on the Graduate trophy first and by the time you're done all of the Free Play games should be unlocked.

To unlock this trophy you just need to complete all of the games in the Observation Free Play area.

The games you need to complete are:
  • Boxed In
  • Where Is It?
  • Same Different
  • Turbo Tap
  • Rapid Recall

Once you have completed all of the games above, the trophy will unlock.

Stroke of Geniusl
Finish a game at Genius difficulty

In order to unlock this trophy you need to play all the way through one of the Free Play games on Genius difficulty. In order to unlock Genius difficulty you first need to unlock the Medium and Hard difficulties. You can unlock the next difficulty by getting 3 stars on the games previous difficulty. If you're having trouble getting 3 stars, don't worry the next difficulty will also unlock after you have replayed a game a certain amount of times (usually 5-10 depending on the difficulty you're on).

Once you play all the way through a game on Genius difficulty the trophy will unlock.

Absolute Genius
Finish all Free Play Games at Genius difficulty

In order to unlock this trophy you need to play all the way through each of the Free Play games on Genius difficulty. When you first play the Free Play games you will notice that the only difficulty that is unlocked is Easy. In order to get to the next difficulty level you need to either get 3 stars or replay the game on different days until the next difficulty level is unlocked (usually 5 times if you change the date by one day after every time you complete a game). Once you unlock all of the Free Play games on Genius difficulty, simply play each one all the way through. Once you have done this for each one the trophy will unlock.


The games you need to complete on Genius difficulty are:

When you first start off the game most of the Free Play games will be locked, but they will gradually unlock as you do the Daily Challenges. I recommend working on the Graduate trophy first and by the time you're done all of the Free Play games should be unlocked.

To unlock this trophy you need to complete all of the games (on any difficulty) in the Free Play area in one day. Once you have played each game at least once in the same day the trophy will pop.

The games you need to complete are:

Earn 3 stars in a game at Easy difficulty

You can unlock this trophy on any game in the Daily Training, Free Play, or Street Smart areas on Easy difficulty. This is pretty easy to do for most of the games. Choose whichever game you feel most comfortable with and once you get 3 stars the trophy will unlock.

Focus on getting all of the answers correct as quickly as possible. On most of the games if you get an answer wrong you will get penalized with extra time at the end of the game. If you are having trouble getting the 3 stars, just keep practicing and you will eventually get it.

Mind Game
Earn 3 stars in a game at Medium difficulty

You can unlock this trophy on any game in the Free Play area on Medium difficulty. This is not very hard to do depending on your skill. Choose whichever game you feel most comfortable with and once you get 3 stars the trophy will unlock.

Focus on getting all of the answers correct as quickly as possible. On most of the games if you get an answer wrong you will get penalized with extra time at the end of the game. If you are having trouble getting the 3 stars, just keep practicing and you will eventually get it.

Brain Surgery
Earn 3 stars in a game at Hard difficulty

You can unlock this trophy on any game in the Free Play area on Hard difficulty. This is a lot more challenging and may take some practice. Choose whichever game you feel most comfortable with and once you get 3 stars the trophy will unlock.

Focus on getting all of the answers correct as quickly as possible. On most of the games if you get an answer wrong you will get penalized with extra time at the end of the game. If you are having trouble getting the 3 stars, just keep practicing and you will eventually get it.

An easy way that you can get 3 stars is to play the Word Wheel game in the Language area while you're at a computer. You can type the letters that show up into an anagrammer and it will give you a list of possible words. I recommend using http://www.wineverygame.com/index.php and the correct word will usually be the one at the top.

Rocket Science
Earn 3 stars in a game at Genius difficulty

You can unlock this trophy on any game in the Free Play area on Genius difficulty. This is very challenging and will take some practice. Choose whichever game you feel most comfortable with and once you get 3 stars the trophy will unlock.

To get to the Street Smart Challenges follow these steps:
  1. From the Main Menu press the world on the top right
  2. Sign in to the Playstation Network
  3. Press the Street Smart bubble that has a map inside it
  4. Press Play

Once you have played all the way through the challenge the trophy will unlock.

Day Tripper
Earn a total of 10 stars in Street Smart

In order to unlock this trophy you will need to accumulate 10 stars in the Street Smart Challenges. The stars accumulate every time you do a new challenge, but the only way to get a new challenge is to either wait until your challenge expires one week (172 hours) after you completed it or to travel to other cities.

If you are fortunate enough to travel a lot then you will be able to unlock this trophy very quickly. If you usually stay in your city then this trophy will take at least a week as the most stars you can obtain per challenge is 9.

If you didn't get many stars the first time, don't worry you can retry the challenge at anytime within 172 hours to improve the amount of stars you got. Some of the challenges may take several attempts as the challenges are usually a mixture from Easy to Hard.

Once your stars add up to 10 from different Street Smart challenges the trophy will unlock.

If you are fortunate enough to travel a lot then you will be able to unlock this trophy fairly quickly. If you usually stay in your city then this trophy will take at least 3 months as the most stars you can obtain per challenge is 9.
