[top]Tips & Strategies

Divine, Dark or Neutral Arm
Each has its own advantages. Divine Arm are those sorcerers who have high defensive stats thus making them a a good support and tank player during online play. They don't have much power but are great supporters. In offline mode, they don't die easy specially when doing those Avalon Pacts but in exchange for their high defensive stats is having a low attack power stats thus making a battle long.

Dark Arm users are those who have high attacking power thus making them the main offense during online play. In offline mode, they can take out archfiends very quick but their defensive stats is very low and prone to a 1 hit kill. If you are very good at dodging then defensive stats is not a priority.

Neutral Arm is basically a balance between Divine and Dark Arm so they can be either a support or an offensive player in online play.

Saving or Sacrificing
When fighting regular mobs, saving these creatures replenishes your health while sacrificing them replenishes your offerings.

Know your opponents
Most Archfiends have weaknesses and you can take advantage of this. You must know also their moves and attack paterns and this helps a lot if you want to play solo on those Avalon Pacts.

Gathering Lacrima
Lacrima are Librom's "tears". This accumulates as you just play the game. If you want to gather lacrima, just exit from the book and Librom will ask you if you have checked the droplets recently. Lacrima is used for repairing offerings, reviving dead or lost allies, re-adjusting your level and the like.

[top]Roadmap

Step 1: Finish the main story
Play through the storyline and finish it all up. Try to get the Legendary Sorcerer often as it gives you more rewards and at the same time you are also working on Spinner of Legends. If you find yourself stuck at some chapters, play some Avalon Pacts to get new offerings to upgrade your arsenal.

Step 2: Complete the Fellow Sorcerers
There are 4 pacts here and each consists of 4 chapters. They are easy ones to complete.

Step 3: Complete the Avalon Pact
This might be the hardest thing to finish in the game. The Avalon Pact has 11 pacts in total and the difficulty ranges from 1-10 stars. It's possible to solo it but you might find yourself going online or going through ad-hoc in order to get some help from other players. You can't rely on the AIs too much in the harder pacts. If you do go online or use ad-hoc, you are gonna be working on the MP trophies and at the same time completing the Avalon Pact.

Step 4: MP Trophies
You can earn the trophies through Online Play or through Ad-hoc play. I recommend doing this while you are also doing the Avalon Pact.

Complete all 7 chapters and you will be awarded with the trophy.

[top]
Bucking Fate
Read through all Magusar chapters and staff credits.

In order to unlock this trophy, you MUST complete all of Magusar's chapters and you MUST defeat him outside of the book by talking to Librom and when you manage to defeat Magusar, DO NOT skip the credits, just let it roll to the end for you to unlock the trophy.

What I brought here as offerings are 2 Slime Ooze (M), Sword Hero Icebrand(but any of your best melee weapon will do), 3 Irondrake Egg (L). The sigils I used should be damage boosters for the melee offering and explosive offering, and the Cause and Effect Sigil.

The battle will have 2 phases.

Phase 1: Sorcerer Form
In this form, you will see a circle around Magusar and this is his barrier. It can be taken down easy by just using the Irondrake Egg and keep using this until the Barrier goes down and keep hitting Magusar with it. After awhile Magusar will quickly rush out of the area to a corner and will start casting a spell that summons 3 Golems. You can cancel this if Magusar takes enough damage. If Magusar is able to summon the Golems, get back for awhile and stay as far as possible and just dodge the lightning bolts. Once the golems are down, keep hitting Magusar with the eggs and he should go down in no time.

Phase 2: Dragon Archfiend Form
This is where those 2 healing offering and 1 melee offering comes into play. Stay in between the legs of the Dragon and his head and some breathing attacks won't reach you. The only thing that can damage you between the legs are the legs itself. From between the legs, keep hitting the dragon with your melee weapon. After awhile the dragon will fly and perform a diving attack. Dodge this by going sideways and continue slashing him between the legs.

After you defeat Magusar, sacrifice him and let the credits roll and DO NOT skip it for the trophy to appear.

Commanding Awe
Completed all Avalon Pacts.

Avalon Pact contains 11 different pacts and each pact has around 7-14 quests with a difficulty that ranges from 1 to 10.

The pact has 2 categories:
  • Exploration Pact - This pact mainly just requires you to to collect Soul Shards which are scattered around the area. The quest won't end until you find every shard that is located around the area. Shards are those blue glowing auras which you see when using Mind's Eye. Once you find one all you have to do is to press and hold to retrieve the shard and find the remaining ones.
  • Extermination Pact - This pact will either require you defeat a certain amount of regular monsters or defeat an archfiend. It may sound simple but this type of quest gets harder as you reach the last remaining pacts which are VII. Judgement up to X. Recursion.

Later you will find that there are some Extermination Pact that requires you to defeat an Archfiend and the quests that follows it are covered by a black ink and you will notice some arrowheads beside those shaded quests. If you find a quest like this, these quests are linked to a main one and it will only be unlocked by either sacrificing or saving the archfiend you will face. Take a look at the image below

Take a look at the Snowfield Glutton quest. It branches into two other quests and only unlocked by either sacrificing or saving the archfiend from the Snowfield Glutton quest. Sacrificing the archfiend will unlock Forest Hides & Haunts and if you complete that quest, it will unlock the quest beneath it.

Now look here, if you Saved the archfiend then it will unlock the other quest but locking the previous quest before.

You will find a lot of these branching quests in the Avalon Pact.

For weaknesses, tips and strategies regarding archfiends, there will be a section at the bottom of the guide which contains information about them.

The trophy will be unlocked once you complete I. Innocence to X. Recursion.

[top]
Fully-Fledged Sorcerer
Defeated 10 archfiends.

See Path of a Great Sorcerer for more information.

[top]
Path of a Great Sorcerer
Defeated 20 archfiends.

In order to unlock the trophy, you must defeat 20 Different archfiends. You cannot unlock the trophy by defeating a single archfiend 20 times. This trophy should popout while you are doing the Avalon Pacts since you won't encounter 20 different archfiends in the main storyline.

You can check the different archfiends you have defeated by going to Network~>Multiplayer~>Sorcerer Stats~>Archfiends.

See Enemy List and Weaknesses below for the list of Archfiends.

[top]
Elementary Sorcerer
Acquired 100 Offerings.

See To be Known For Greatness for more information.

[top]
Gradual Gain of Power
Acquired 500 Offerings.

See To be Known For Greatness for more information.

[top]
To be Known For Greatness
Acquired 1000 Offerings.

Offerings are those spells or abilities that you use in while doing pacts. Don't worry about counting how many offerings you have already obtained since you will get this naturally along with Elementary Sorcerer Gradual Gain of Power while you are completing the main storyline and finishing up the Avalon Pact.

[top]
More Power, More Courage
Held 30 of One Offering.

Very easy trophy, you must have an offering which has a total count of 30. You can just replay a mission over and over again which gives you the same offerings until you reach a total count of 30 and the trophy should be unlocked.

[top]
Caring for your Wares
Repaired 50 Offerings.

While you are on the field, you may notice that after using your offering a couple of times, it will start to blink red. This indicates that that offering is running low. Once that offering has reached its limit and its been exhausted, you can no longer use it in the battlefield until you have repaired it.

Each offerings has its own lacrima count needed in order to repair it. Simply repair your offerings 50 times and the trophy should be unlocked.

What I did here is that every after a quest or when a quest is almost done, I start to use up all of my 6 offerings to exhaust it. Now before starting a new pact, make sure to repair all 6 and just do this around 8-10 times and the trophy should be unlocked.

[top]
Humble Beginnings
Acquired one selectable raiment.

See Stylish Sorcerer for more information.

[top]
Stylish Sorcerer
Acquired 60 selectable raiments.

Raiments are the clothes or costumes that you select for you sorcerer. There are 12 different ones (13 if you have the DLC raiment) for Male or Female and each raiment has 6 color variations. That being said, with only 12 different kind of raiments, the count should depend on the color variations. The trophy will be unlocked once you have obtained a 60th color variation for a raiment. Collecting the different raiment will depend on the pacts you accomplish on the Avalon Pact and in the main storyline.

Raiment List:
  • Noble(Default)
  • Intellectual(Default)
  • Spellcaster
  • Knight
  • Physician
  • Hunter
  • Wanderer
  • Conjurer
  • Warrior
  • Sand Dweller(Default)
  • Stranger
  • Nomad
  • Dancer(DLC)

[top]
Forbidden for a Reason
Learned a new Black Rite.

See Last Resort, Secret Technique for more information.

[top]
Last Resort, Secret Technique
Learned 5 Black Rites.

There are 5 Black Rites that you can learn in the game. 1 is learned in the storyline and the other 4 must be learned by achieving a certain level in order to learn it. You will unlock the trophy after learning all 5 black rites.

Black Rite List:
  • Infernus(obtained via the main story)
  • Gleipnir(Magic Lv.20)
  • Excalibur(Magic Lv.40)
  • Gorgon(Life Lv.20)
  • Vulcan(Life Lv.40)

[top]
Thoughts Flow in the Arm
Acquired 100 soul/life essences.

See Emotions Swirl in the Arm for more information.

[top]
Emotions Swirl in the Arm
Acquired 1000 soul/life essences.

Essences are obtained via sacrificing or saving a monster or an archfiend. This trophy is obtained naturally along with Thoughts Flow in the Arm while you are doing the main story and finishing up the Avalon Pact.

Essences are gained through saving or sacrificing a monster

[top]
Elementary Offering Fusing
Fused Offerings.

See To Be a better Sorcerer for more information.

[top]
To Be a better Sorcerer
Acquired 50 Offerings by fusing.

Trophy is very simple but a bit tedious because when you don't have enough offerings, you will find yourself grinding a few times. Just fuse offerings 50 times and the trophy should appear.

This is how fusing appears in the game. Very simple trophy but may require a bit of grinding.

[top]
Without a Scratch
Earned the "Unscathed Kill" award in an Avalon pact.

This is best done later when you have access to powerful offerings and have a good set of sigil. In order to unlock the trophy, you need to defeat an Archfiend without taking any damage. Like I said, this is a simple trophy to be obtained later since you can defeat quickly most of the earlier Archfiends with a good set of offerings and sigil.

[top]
Boundless Strength
Score 450 points or more in one pact.

Although you can get the trophy early, this is easily done without a sweat and you will find yourself doing this a lot of times when you have better offerings later in the game.

Easy suggestion is The Sorcerer's Ordeal Chapter 3, the fight with a Jack-o-Lantern. Equip yourself with Ice Rose Thorn, Icedrake Egg, Thunderdrake Egg, Ice Carving Lid and any recovery offering you have and start the mission. For Sigils, equip Ice Element damage boosters and Sigil that boosts the damage of the Drake Eggs.

At the beginning you will spot a few mobs, use Ice Rose Thorn and time your counterattack to some points then go to the location of the Archfiend. Once the battle starts, focus on the Archfiend's body or its head. Use Mind's Eye to see it the weak part of its body then use the Icedrake Egg, the boss should be frozen easily and once it is frozen, use the Thunderdrake egg for a chain attack and giving you awards like Frozen Hell, Attacked cursed part, Archfiend vulnerability, Chain Attack. If you manage to destroy the head then it should net you Destroyed cursed part award. If the boss starts rolling, just equip the Ice Carving Lid to defend yourself and knocks the boss for a few seconds. Don't get yourself hit and finish the quest as fast as you can and this will give you the high point boosting awards like Godspeed Quest and Unscathed.

Do it right and the quest should give you more than 450 points

[top]
Boil, Torch and Torment
Inflict 5 ailments on an archfiend.

This trophy is best done when you have access to the Hourglass offerings since using those offerings can instantly inflict an ailment to an Archfiend. The ailment you need to inflict doesn't need to be different ones since you can inflict the ailment repeatedly for 5 times and you should unlock the trophy.

When you inflict an ailment to an Archfiend, there is a corresponding battle award to it. You'll know that you have inflicted an ailment if the following appears:
  • Infernal Hell
  • Frozen Hell
  • Shocking Hell
  • Petrified Hell
  • Venomous Hell

[top]
Light-footed Sorcerer
Killed an archfiend using one Offering and without allies.

As the description says, you must defeat an archfiend with only 1 offering and without allies. Easily done on Several Years Later Chapter 2 where you fight a Carnivorous Slime. Equip your best golem offering, upgrade it if necessary to increase the cast count and start the chapter. Find the archfiend and when the battle starts, skip the animation and summon the golem immediately and get away for now until the golem disappears. Do this a couple of times and the archfiend will go down in no time. If you are running low on the cast count, just find offerings around the area that will replenish your offering and continue summoning the golem until the boss goes down.

[top]
Spinner of Legends
Achieve the rank of "Legendary Sorcerer" 50 times.

Each quest has a different point requirement in order to achieve a Legendary Sorcerer rank. My only tip here is to get the Unscathed and Godspeed Quest awards as these two have the highest boost on your points.

Note:
  • Quests that requires you to relieve the memories have a very low point requirement so make sure to get Unscathed and Godspeed Quest awards since these 2 will make sure that you will receive the Legendary Sorcerer rank.
  • Quests that is a fight against a sorcerer also has a low point requirement and getting Unscathed and Godspeed Quest along with a few awards will surely give you a Legendary Sorcerer rank.
  • Quests that requires you to slay normal mobs have an average point requirement. Unscathed and Godspeed Quest awards alone wont net you the Legendary Sorcerer rank but those 2 will boost your points so high that you only need to do few things like counterattacking, taking advantage of an enemy's weakness, using a chain attack and awards like those should net you the highest rank.
  • Quests that lets you face archfiends have higher point requirement than others so this might be challenging to do on quests like those but it is doable. You need to do more than the things that you did on the quests listed above. You must take advantage of an archfiend's weakness, destroy 1 or all of it's cursed part, inflict a status ailment and there more things you need to do in order to get a Legendary Sorcerer Rank.

[top]
Sorrow of Solitude
Teased Librom in 3 different ways.

Very simple trophy. As soon as you can start reading the book, you can play around with Librom for three different ways.
Now to unlock the trophy:
  • Use the touch screen to touch Librom. It should knock the book backwards.
  • Use the rear touch to knock Librom toward the screen.
  • Use the touch screen and swipe Librom either left or right and it should spin him around.

The trophy will pop out afterwards.

[top]
From Cover to Cover
Opened all pages of Librom.

Very simple trophy. Go to the Read Journal option and open the Mad Chronicle and start with the Sorcerer's Ordeal chapter. From here, just use the right analog stick and tilt it to the left to flip the pages. Do this until you get to the very end. If the trophy doesn't popout, check the pages on the Network option.

[top]
Pure and Straight
Started pact with 6 identical Offerings.

Very simple trophy. Just equip 6 similar offerings like having 6 Firetree Root and start a quest. It should unlock the trophy.

[top]
Use What You Can
Unleashed 4 spells with no offerings equipped in one pact.

Description is a bit misleading because you can have your offerings equipped.

Now to unlock this trophy, you need to use other offerings aside from the 6 ones you assigned on your gear.
Here are some examples:
  • Using offerings around the environment to create shields, weapons or armor and the like.
  • Look around the environment for items that will replenish the offerings you are carrying.
  • Sacrifice your ally when they are dying to unleash a spell.
  • Use a Black Rite.

Remember to do all four in one pact. You should unlock the trophy immediately after using the fourth offering.

[top]
The Offering Offers Power
Used a Chest of Fortune in pact.

The chest of fortune randomly gives an offering for you to use. Before you head out, equip it and use it once in the field and the trophy should pop.

Equip this and simply use it in the field. It gives random offerings and thats it.

[top]
The Path of Cooperation
Relived a pact in multiplayer.

See Sorcerer with a Swift Arm for more information.

[top]
What it Means to Fight Together
Relived 20 pacts in multiplayer.

See Sorcerer with a Swift Arm for more information.

[top]
Sorcerer with a Swift Arm
Relived 100 pacts in multiplayer.

Multiplayer trophies are obtained via either playing Online or playing through ad-hoc. You can even do this on solo just by going to ad-hoc and host yourself a quest and you can start this without any allies and this will still give you the trophies.

The pacts you are going to play here are the Avalon pacts. The are a lot of different quests on the avalon pact, you can even repeat the same mission over and over until you get the trophies related to the MP if you want.

Play online or through ad-hoc and have a play count of 100 times and you should get all the trophies.

[top]
Magical Milestones
Visited many places on pacts.

You will unlock this trophy once you have visited all places in the game. You won't unlock this just by playing through the storyline since there are other areas that are only accessible through the Avalon Pact. Once you are done with the storyline, this trophy will come naturally as you progress further the Avalon Pact.

[top]
Taboos should be Challenged
Used a Black Rite.

By default, Infernus is learned at the first chapter and the very first black rite that you can use. In order to use a black rite, you must have taken a massive amount of damage then a black rite indicator will appear at the lower left part of the screen. In order to use a black rite, you must touch and hold on to the indicator and wait for a few seconds to finish the offering.

The trophy will pop out once you have successfully used a black rite.

Black Rite is only available when you have taken a significant amount of damage.

[top]
I Decide Who Lives and Who Dies
Life level or magic level reached 20.

See Thy Strength Runneth Over for more information.

[top]
Thy Strength Runneth Over
Life level of magic level reached 99.

In order to unlock this trophy, your Magic or Life level must be 99. Only one of the two can reach the max level and it depends on your playstyle.

As you get nearer the max level, you will find yourself rewriting your arm's level. In order to do this, Go to Portraiture~>Right Arm~>Rewrite Lv. Lowering your level requires a certain amount of Lacrima . I only recommend rewriting your level once when you feel like you are confident enough already with your skills as either a Dark Arm user or a Divine Arm user and you are close to reaching Level 99 since you're gonna need extra defense or attack points when you are still grinding to the max level.

For grinding spots, I leveled up to 55 from The Memories Remain Chapter 6 where you fight a Hydra. Bring in your best fire golem and best Firedrake egg and this is an easy battle. Go to the location of the archfiend, skip the transformation scene and quickly lay down your golem and get back and use your Firedrake egg. I switched to Avalon Pact X: Recursion to grind the rest. The highest level Hydra is in this Avalon Pact and gives 150 experience and the mobs are around 11 exp.
