Collect all the items and finish the game. This trophy is easily missed!!
You will need to get every item in the game to get this trophy, and they are all fairly easy, except the one on Stage 11 which is easily missed. Most items are bought at the Shop and here is a list of them:
- Invincibility Box
- Extra Life
- Flight Cane
- Ball A
- Ball B
Some of these can be picked up throughout the game, but most must be bought, and there are also 3 other items you can miss in the game:
- Stage 7 - Telepathy ball, found at the pit near the skull block. It is in plain sight but tricky to reach.
- Stage 11 - Letter, this is the hardest item to find, and I strongly suggest having the cane to reach it. You must first rescue your brother who is in the very top right corner of the stage, and then you will have to back track to the room with a lot of ladders and flame enemies. This is the part where the cane comes in handy, use it and float up to the the ladder to go into the room above, and you should see the letter past the spikes. Once you get this item, you have nothing to worry about as the rest are not hidden.
- Stage 15 - Stone Slab, this requires you have the Letter first. Just walk to the King and after the dialogue box the item will drop to the left, pick it up and then go to the riceball.
Once you have beaten the game with every item, this gold trophy will unlock.
Clear every stage.
There are 17 stages in the game, and all but two are straightforward. The castle stages are 11 and 16, and they are very different compared to the rest of the game. You will have to navigate multiple rooms filled with puzzles and enemies until you arrive at the boss. I found a video that can show you a good path for stage 16, as you can get very lost in the stage quickly, see the spoiler below to see it.
When you arrive on Stage 17, there will be a puzzle at the end. You will have to jump on the following blocks in this order: Sun, Waves, Moon, Star, Sun, Moon, Waves, Fish, Star, Fish. Now you will have to go up and jump over the spikes and possibly avoid ghosts to get the crown. Congratulations, the game is complete!
Clear Stage 9 while on the Suisui Boat.
As you start Stage 9, you will be on a small motorboat that functions the same as the other vehicles in the game; if you hit anything, you will lose the boat and be forced to go the rest of the level on foot. All this trophy requires is you to complete the whole level on the boat, so you will want to make many saves in key points throughout the level so you don't have to start over if you mess up. An important thing to know while going for the trophy is that you shouldn't always jump to avoid the fish, as you could crash into the pterodactyl if you don't shoot it, and there is one point where a pterodactyl is flying low, and one of the fish jumps up close to the pterodactyl. Don't jump at this point, instead stay on the water and shoot the fish with
. Once you get past that point, there shouldn't be anything you need to worry about for the rest of the level.
Have a snack on the Petit-Copter!
The best and earliest place to get this is on Stage 5, if you pick up the helicopter at the end of Stage 4. What you'll want to do here is make a save at the start and also throughout the stage at key moments so you don't have to completely start over if you crash, and remember to just avoid crashing your rotor into any red balls, blocks, or water. You will earn this when you get the Riceball at the end of the stage.
Lose rock-paper-scissors even while using a Telepathy Ball. This trophy is easily missed!!
There will be a part in Stage 7 where there will be 1 block-wide pit, and a ball with a star on it. Do not try to jump in directly, instead you will want to break the nearby skull block to get some height for your fall. Now save your game, and get on top of the regular block and fall to the right into the pit of lava while holding
. If done right, you will instead land on the patch of land and be able to grab the telepathy ball. At the end of the stage, you will encounter another boss to play Janken with, this is one of your many chances left to get this trophy. The telepathy ball tells you what your opponent will pick, so just save and pick the wrong one to lose at the game.
Enjoy a sky cruise in the Petit-Copter.
There is a Helicopter you can pick up at the end of Stage 4, after you meet the man and you go through all of his text, it is on the left side of him. Get it before you head to the Riceball and you will start Stage 5 with a Helicopter and the trophy will unlock instantly.
Rockin' the Bike
Ride through Stage 2 on the Sukopako Motorcycle.
At the beginning of Stage 2 there will be a shop you can walk into by pressing
, and inside you can buy the Motorcycle. All you have to do is avoid the red balls throughout the stage. The game lets you slow down and jump, so this shouldn't be too tough, but I'd still save at the beginning of the stage when you have the motorcycle just in case. Don't be afraid when you encounter a massive wall of red balls, as this is unavoidable and you just have to go through it for the trophy.
Fists of Stone
Break 300 blocks with your fists.
You will definitely get this trophy over the course of the game, all you have to do is keep hitting the breakable blocks and special blocks with your fist, as you will want to earn money and power-up items to help you out through the course of the game.
Defeat both giant octopi. This trophy is easily missed!!
The octopus enemies are exclusive to Stage 4, and the only way to defeat them is to move in slowly, avoiding the tentacle, while only attacking the very tip. I suggest saving before you attack him, and after you've destroyed half of the tentacle as it can take a bit to defeat him. There are only two in the stage, and once you have defeated the second one, you will have earned this trophy.
The spoiler below shows a way to defeat the octopus.
A Brush with Death
Outrun a ghost!
You can get this trophy on the first stage, along with Good Vibrations
. A couple of screens down, you will see a pink block with a skull on it, step on it and a ghost will pop out. Quickly run off the platforms onto the next screen and the ghost shouldn't be able to follow you.
Tears of Regret
Run out of lives in Janken's dungeon with less than $400. This trophy is easily missed!!
Janken's dungeon is Stage 16, the second to last. All you have to do is run out of all of your lives while having less than $400 on hand, so obviously save before doing this, you don't want to start all over!
You should have less than $400 if you've bought everything in the shops, as you should to make sure you get Amazing Score
. If you do, what you can do is hold
on the screen after you lose all your lives and it will take away $400, which should mean you can then die three more times for this trophy.
Freeze in fear from breaking a Skull Block.
This can be earned during the first stage, just go down a few screens and you'll see a stack of three yellow blocks closed off by some breakable blocks, the middle block with a skull on it. All you have to do is break it and Alex will tremble for a few seconds.
