Quoth the Raven
Complete The Raven

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

You will unlock this trophy after completing Mission 5: The Raven. During the mission, you awake to being cocooned nearly and the Raven, a special bigger xenomorph is prowling around. It runs off after O'Neal who is still in the sewers fighting and you have been captured. You break free and fight through the area to regroup with him.

Key things to note during the mission are the Boiler enemies which become present as you walk through the sewers without your gear. You will need to walk very slowly and if they should light up and start moving, stop completely and wait for them to resume their sleep. There will be numerous shells of other aliens down here and some of them are actually alive and will wake up and glow a green color when they are alerted. You will need to activate several generator controls which will create a noise and draw them all together, killing them as they run into it and explode.

Afterwards, The Raven will chase you again and you will need to seal the doors behind you with your wielder. Do this and keep running forward, opening and resealing doors as you go through until you regroup with O'Neal. Finally you will get back with your teammates and be chased further by the Raven through a junkyard.

At this point, you will be able to get into a PowerLoader and face the Raven. There are a few xenomorphs that will also attack you, but you can swap them away or let O'Neal handle them. You will use and to attack with the right and left arms of the powerloader to attack and defeat the Raven. Just keep tapping the buttons and watching as the green blood comes out and finally you will grab the alien and kill it, thus acquiring you this trophy.

Complete Rampart

Dragged Queen
Complete Home

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

This trophy will be acquired after completing the final mission, Home. You will begin in a hanger and your teammates will escape and you are left to face the Queen alien to try and protect them. This is a very simple and quick battle that requires you to activate four levers to move a docking crate back and then you activate the main controls to launch the Queen off into space.

There are two on each side of the hanger and you can use the containers to quickly weave back and forth staying out of the Queen's reach. She will knock you down and try to maul you and can swipe with her tail so be quick and don't hang around too long in one spot.

After you activate the final controls and take position behind the cargo, activate it as the Queen comes in front of you. Congratulations and enjoy the final cutscene.

Complete the game on the Hardened Difficulty to achieve this trophy. Difficulty trophies do stack!

[top]
State of the Badass Art
Complete all Campaign levels on Ultimate Badass difficulty

Ultimate Badass is the hardest difficulty on the game and is available at the start so you do not have to complete the game on a previous difficulty beforehand. Complete the game on this difficulty setting and you will achieve this trophy. All difficulty trophies do stack!

Probably the trickiest thing about Ultimate Badass difficulty is that you no longer have a HUD to rely on. That alone presents several problems. You cannot tell how much helath you have. Furthermore, for certain things like grenades and such, you don't know how many you are carrying, if any. The best tip is probably to take your time. You take a lot of damage very quickly on this difficulty, so there's no reason to rush into battle. Since you have no HUD, and can't tell how much life you have, try to pick up armor and health packs whenever possible.

[top]
Short, Controlled Bursts
Defeat all Xenomorphs in the Sulaco hangar bay without them crossing your barricade

During Chapter One, you will battle with your comrade Keyes and eventually come to the hanger bay where you first entered through at the beginning. Here you will need to hold off the Xenomorphs until he breaches the lock on the door.

You can do this section on easy difficulty to kill the aliens much quicker, but just using quick timed and short bursts will be key here. Switch between the pulse rifle and shotgun to make sure none breach past the barricades. Reload quickly when you have downtime in between waves which will come from both directions here. If you think anything got past, simply press and select to reload from checkpoint.

TIP: Counter-intuitively, sometimes it's better to stand outside the perimiter to draw the xenos towards you instead of having them cross the barricade.

Fire Drill
Arm the emergency release and escape in under 2:30 on Sulaco Falls

During Mission 3: Sulaco Falls, you will be tasked with arming the emergency release and need to get away in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. This isn't that difficult and you have plenty of time if you don't goof around and you know what you're doing.

Mostly Come at Night...
Find Newt's doll

During Mission 5: The Raven, you have a chance to collect this item, which you may remember from the film Aliens. At the beginning of the mission, you drop down into the sewers and you'll come across Boiler Xenomorphs, which are blind and only sense you from movement, but you can stand perfectly still and they will leave you alone. Move slowly past them in the first section and the activate the generator control. The sound will attract them towards it where they'll kamikaze themselves, clearing a path for you. Now you can explore down here in peace. In this first section, on some barrel you will locate Newt's Doll head and unlock this trophy.

Just a Grunt
Complete Hope in Hadley's

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

You will acquire this trophy for completing Mission 9: Hope in Hadley's. Through this mission you will continue through the wastelands and battle through a variety of Xenos and mercenaries. Also, you will meet and face the Crusher, which is a big brute alien that will try to charge at you and smash you with it's large crowned head.

You can easily face this enemy by running around the APC that is in the area and shoot at it's legs. The head is completely bullet proof so you will have some trouble here. Don't stand still for too long or try to hide behind the barricades as it will charge through and still hurt you. Firebombs and explosives work wonders on the enemy if you have them available as well. Defeat the crusher and you will finish this mission.

[top]
No Need for Alarm
Complete One Bullet without setting off the alarm

During Mission 7: One Bullet, you will take Bella to a Weyland Yutani facility to get the Alien out of her. However, this doesn't work and she still dies. After this, you will need to get out of the facility and continue forward with your mission. At this point, you will enter several rooms, with the mercenaries operating equipment and will attempt to sound an alarm releasing nerve gas into the room. Quickly enter and kill everyone before they activate any switches. O'Neal will make a comment about being quiet or taking them out before they sound the alarms so you will know which rooms to go after. There are two rooms you will have to get through.

Simply make sure the alarms do not sound and then complete the mission to achieve this trophy.

NOTE: There was one alarm that I couldn't get to fast enough, but the trohpy still unlocked. So, there may be one or two alarms that are scripted and you can't deactivate no matter how much you try.

[top]
Heavy Lifting
Defeat the Raven in under 1:10 on Soldier difficulty or higher

During Mission 5: The Raven, you will be chased by a bigger and stronger xenomorph, known as the Raven. You defeat it by using the Powerloader suit and use a combo of tapping and to use the left and right arms to hit it. Playing on Normal (Soldier) difficulty or higher, you will need to quickly defeat the boss in less than one minute and ten seconds. You will know you are close as you will grab the Raven in the arms and choke it with the Powerloader. After three times you will ultimately defeat it. Keep tapping the triggers and don't let up and you will have no issues with this boss. The other marines should stay focused on killing the rest of the normal xenomorphs in the area.

Adios Muchachos
Gib two enemies at once

For this trophy, you will need to blow up and explode two enemies simultaneously. There are numerous opportunities to accomplish this during the game, but simply keep your Pulse Rifle equipped and when you see two enemies next to one another, or any of the mercenaries, simply use the alternate fire to destroy them.

[top]
Field Promotion
Earn Rank 2 as a Marine

This will come as you normally play the game, most likely during the first or second mission, depending on difficulty. Simply reach Rank 2 and you will unlock this trophy. Single Player modes also grant XP and rank you up as you play so you don't have to play online for this trophy.

[top]
Lean and Mean
Earn Rank 20 as a Marine

You will also most likely receive Rank 20 before you complete the game, but this one will take slightly longer than Field Promotion.

[top]
I Love the Corps!
Earn Rank 60 as a Marine

Rank 60 will take the longest and most time to accomplish. For this trophy, play on the harder difficulties so you acquire more experience, play and battle online if you're capable, and complete all the challenges. You will gain tons of experience from these methods so this isn't a real challenge, just time consuming. Single Player modes also acquire and rank you up as you play so you don't have to play online for this trophy.

The easiest and probably fastest way to reach Lvl 60 is to keep replaying the very final mission on the hardest difficulty. It only takes 2-3 minutes and rewards you with pretty generous XP.

[top]
Oorah to Ashes
Collect a Dog Tag

Simply find any dog tag throughout the game and you will achieve this trophy. The first dog tag is located during Mission 1: Distress as you follow O'Neal and located nearby some steps on some crates after the Xenomorphs have began attacking you.

Throughout the game, you will have several challenges available to you to complete. Simply complete any of these, which are accessed via the button to be displayed on screen for any active challenges available.

From the Main Menu, you can look and few all challenges, but you must complete all active ones first before you are capable of achieving the remaining ones.

[top]
Stay Frosty
Complete an entire Challenge category

For this trophy, you will need to complete every challenge in a section. There are three sections, with various active challenges becoming available as you complete each one. The second tier of challenges, the Campaign challenges, will be the quickest as it only has 13 challenges to complete.

[top]
Distinguished Service Medal
Complete all Challenges

You will achieve this trophy after you have completed every challenge in the game. These are viewed at the Main Menu under Service Records option. You can view your active challenges by pressing in-game. There are three categories of challenges: Marine Challenges, Campaign Challenges, Multiplayer (xeno) challenges. There are 3 active challenges at a given point in time, one for each category. You must and have to complete each of the active challenges before you can progress to the next one in that category. The Marine challenges can be done either offline via the campaign, or online via the multiplayer. The Campaign challenges, as you can expect, can only be done via the campaign. The Xeno challenges have to be done online. Fortunately, all of the ones that need to be done online can be boosted via private matches.

[top]
I Feel Safer Already
Have another player join your party

Aliens features a drop in/out multiplayer set up and if you have it set up, other players are capable of joining into your game. Simply select the multiplayer option and select to start a game. This is very easily boosted, but is very simple and requires another player to join into your game.

To easily unlock this trophy, you can simply use a second controller. Start a co-op single-player session and bring in a second controller. Once the mission loads, if not sooner, the trophy should unlock.

[top]
Don't Count Me Out
Revive a teammate

While playing multiplayer, you will need to simply revive a fallen teammate during the course of a game and you will achieve this trophy. This can be easily boosted online as well.

[top]
Ready to Fry Half a City
Edit a Marine Loadout

This is fairly simple. You'll need to rank up at least one rank in order to unlock a loadout option and earn a commendation point. Finding your first dog tag during the first mission, Distress, should be enough to rank you up. Once you do, go into the start menu, and select Arsenal, and purchase and equip a new loadout option to unlock this trophy.

[top]
Structural Perfection
Edit a Xenomorph Loadout

This is similar to Ready to Fry Half a City, however, in order to level up a xeno, you have to play the multiplayer. You can either join a public game, or if you have a friend, just play a private game mode of your choice. Once you rank up your xeno at least one rank, you should be able to go and purchase a combat upgrade to unlock this trophy.

[top]
Perfect Killing Machine
Upgrade every Loadout for a Xenomorph class

For this trophy, you will need to play online or the multiplayer for the game and use the Xenomorph class. Upgrade something in every loadout that is available for the xenomorphs and you will achieve this trophy very simply.

[top]
Field Modified, Kill Certified
Upgrade every slot for a weapon

For this trophy, you will need to upgrade every available weapon slot on a weapon. This will be easiest to accomplish with the beginning pistol you start off with. Simply play through the game until you are Rank 19 where all available upgrades are capable of purchase, and complete challenges to get enough modification commendations to purchase every upgrade.

[top]
You Look Just Like I Feel
Upgrade every Appearance slot once for your Marine

For this trophy, you will need to edit each piece of appearance selectable for the Marine. You can customize these options from the Main Menu. These will become unlocked from completing different challenges.

NOTE: I had this trophy glitch on me. I had changed each piece of the marine's appearance at least once and the trophy didn't unlock. Apparently, the shoulders weren't registering. I kept changing everything over and over and eventually the trophy unlocked, but the shoulders still didn't seem like they were registering, so keep in mind this trophy may glitch at times.

[top]
Adaptive Morphology
Upgrade every Appearance slot once for your Xenomorph class

For this trophy, you will need to edit each piece of appearance selectable for the Xenomorph. You can customize these options from the Main Menu. These will become unlocked from completing different challenges.

[top]
I Can Handle a Weapon
Purchase all Upgrades for a weapon

For this trophy, you will need to upgrade every available weapon slot on a weapon. This will be easiest to accomplish with the beginning pistol you start off with. Simply play through the game until you are Rank 19 where all available upgrades are capable of purchase, and complete challenges to get enough modification commendations to purchase every upgrade.

[top]
Majority Shareholder
Spend 30 Commendations

Depending on the difficulty you play on, and how much multiplayer you play, you may be able to get this trophy during your first playthrough. Each time you rank up your marine, you get a commendation that you can spend on unlockables such as attachments and skins for your weapons. Once you've spent 30 commendations, this trophy will unlock. You receive commendations also for completing challenges so continue to strive to take down as many of these to help quicken the time to achieve this trophy.

Kill 10 Xenomorphs that are using vents

Over the course of the game, simply watch for the xenomorphs as they come in and out of the vents. Gun them down quickly as they are by the vents and after you killed ten of them, you will achieve this trophy. During Chapter One you have numerous opportunities to do this as you and your comrade are past the hanger bay and by the railings.

[top]
Let's Rock!
Kill 10 Xenomorphs in a game with the M56A2 Smart Gun

You will be able to acquire this trophy during Mission 4: No Hope in Hadley's. Continue through the level until you find a command center in the front and you will be tasked with setting up a perimeter. After this, you will be capable of getting the Smart Gun off the table and follow O'Neal into the sewers to take out some aliens. You will walk down a long tunnel, with numerous aliens coming at you, so blast away and the gun will naturally auto-lock on and eliminate them all as they come into range. You should easily get 10 kills with xenos to spare.

[top]
Need a Deck of Cards?
Set up a UA 571-C Remote Sentry

This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed.

You will be able to acquire this trophy during Mission Four: No Hope in Hadley's. Continue through the level until you find a command center in the front and you will be tasked with setting up a perimeter. You will be asked to gather one of the turrets in the area and bring it back and set up in the center of the command post now. Go back and get one from the previous hallways where you set up the motion detectors and O'Neal will cover you as you carry it back. Set it up and you will acquire this trophy.

[top]
Micro Changes in Air Density
Track 100 hostile targets with the Motion Tracker

This trophy will be acquired over the course of the game. Simply use to bring up your motion tracker and track enemies so that they blip and show up on the display in game. After you have done this for 100 enemy targets, you will achieve this trophy.

NOTE: Any targets you tracked are retained even after you have died and this works for kills as well.

[top]
It's a Dry Heat
Kill 3 enemies with a single U4 Firebomb

You need to equip and use a single U4 Firebomb to kill 3 enemies simultaneously to acquire this trophy. Wait for an area with 3 enemies gathered together and throw this on them. You can equip the firebombs, by pressing and holding to enter the weapon menu, and press left to enter the grenades and other weapons section. Select the firebomb and throw it.

During Mission 6: For Bella, there is a door you open and several Weyland commandos will be standing outside getting attacked by aliens, , have your firebomb equipped and throw it as the door opens and you can take down several enemies at once right here.

[top]
Eat This!
Kill a Xenomorph with a shotgun at very close range

This is just as the description says. You start the game with a shotgun, so you can get this as early in the game as you want. Just let a xeno approach you. If he pounces on you, you'll quickly enter a QTE. After you mash your character will put the shotgun up to the xeno's neck, and blast away. The trophy should unlock.

[top]
Coming Outta the Walls!
Kill a Xenomorph climbing on the walls or ceiling

During the game, simply watch for the xenomorphs to climb at you on the walls or roof, and gun them down. This will most likely be achieved accidentally and at some point in the game as you play naturally.

Alternatively, you can boost this trophy via Multiplayer. Just have a buddy be a xeno and have him climb the wall. Kill him and the trophy should unlock.

Another easy way to unlock this, if you actually make it this far into the game without having already done so, is during Mission 4: Hope in Hadley's. When you acquire the smart gun, you'll go down into the sewers with O'Neal. There will be several xenos that are coming at you, many of them will be using the ceiling and/or walls, so it should be easy to unlock this trophy there.

[top]
Secreted from What?
Kill 5 Spitters without being damaged by acid

During Mission Six: For Bella, you will first encounter the Spitter Xenomorphs. These aliens will crawl around the walls and are distinct from other xenomorphs by their slightly glowing yellowish/green color on their crowns and will spit acid at you from a distance. For the trophy, you will need to kill five of these foes back to back without being hit. Use the Battle Rifle or another long range weapon to quickly snipe them off and side step if they shoot at you, which you'll see the glob of acid coming towards you.

Alternatively, if you're having trouble, you can easily boost this trophy via a private multiplayer match. Simply choose to be a marine, and have your partner(s) be xeno spitters and kill them five times for the trophy to unlock.

No Offense
Melee a Lurker that is pouncing toward you

You can try to do this during the campaign, but it's much easier to do it via multiplayer if you can find a partner. Start a private lobby, and have your partner join you, or you join him, and choose a game mode. Have your partner choose the lurker as his xeno, and go to a spot, and have him pound () on you. As he's pouncing, quickly melee () and the trophy should unlock.

Arbitrarily Exterminated
Kill 2179 Xenomorphs

Throughout the game, simply kill over 2179 xenomorphs and you will achieve this trophy. Undoubtedly, unless you make it a point to play through the campaign numerous times, or to play the multiplayer extensively, you won't just come across this trophy; chances are you'll have to grind for it a bit. Probably the best/easiest spot for this trophy is during Mission 4: No Hope in Hadley's, where you acquire the Smart Gun and you follow O'Neal down into the sewers. You can easily kill 20+ xenos and restart the checkpoint. The gun auto-tracks so you can sweep through the tunnel in under a minute. Unfortunately, there's no in-game counter that keeps track of how many xenos you've killed, so the best you can hope for is to keep killing until the trophy unlocks.

Anytime, Anywhere
Kill a Crusher without it damaging you

During Mission 9: Hope in Hadley's, you will first meet the Crusher. This is a big brute of an alien with a large crown like the queen and it will attempt to smash and ram you with it's head.

There is an easy way to defeat this enemy, even on Badass Difficulty, if you're lucky. Basically, the crusher shows up on the scene and he bashes into an APC. If you can manage to hop onto the APC, which is the tricky part, before the Crusher can damage you, just take out the few Xenos around and when it's just you and the crusher, just shoot at him from on top the APC and he won't be able to hit you.

Keep in mind, hit his arms/legs because his "face" has some sort of armor plating that can't take damage. You can tell you're damaging him the same way as the Raven, by noticing if he is spewing green blood. If you can't manage to get on top of the APC, keep circling it, and keep your eyes on him to avoid getting blind sided by a running charge.

Alternatively, if you can get a partner, this trophy can be boosted via Multiplayer. Start a multiplayer session and wait a couple of minutes (you cannot start with a Crusher, you have to morph into one using the walls with the large nests on them). Once you've successfully morphed into a Crusher, just kill it without taking damage, which should be easy since your partner controls the Crusher, and the trophy unlocks.

Love at First Sight
Survive a Close Encounter with a Facehugger

Your first opportunity to do this will be during Mission 2. This will be your first opportunity to come across facehuggers. Simply let one attack you, and mash until you push it off you, and kill it. The trophy should unlock.

...But No Cigar
Rescue a teammate from a Close Encounter

You will need to rescue a teammate after they have been knocked down and are being attacked by a xenomorph to acquire this trophy. You can accomplish this in single player mode with a second controller or coop partner, or during a multiplayer game.
