[top]Introduction
Angry Birds is the game everyone knows, and just about everyone has probably played it at one point or another. Simple to play and completely addicting, it has become the most popular game in the world over the past few years and can be played on just about any platform or device you can think of. With the release of the Angry Birds Trilogy, that list now includes video game consoles as well.
This disc includes the first seven episodes of Angry Birds Classic and Angry Birds Seasons, and the first 6 episodes of Angry Birds Rio, as well as a few console-specific bonus levels. The simple controls of the game translate well to the PS3 version, and the game has support for the Playstation Move as well, if you want a more "classic" feel to the gameplay.
Although the game is very easy to pick up and play, this will be far from an easy (or quick) platinum, so be prepared to log long hours and endure more than a little frustration trying to get 3 stars and 100% destruction on every level. Luckily, the "Score Addict" achievements that were found in the mobile versions of the game are nowhere to be found.

[top]Tips & Strategies
- Learn each bird's strengths and use them wisely. See the Bird Guide below to learn about each one, and then put that knowledge to good use. Once you know what each bird is good at doing, it will go a long way toward helping you figure out the strategy of a level.
- Pay attention to what you're given. If you take a moment to survey the level, the birds you have and what order they're in, you can normally deduce the best strategy for the level. If your first bird is blue and there's one ice block out there somewhere, that's probably where you need to start. If you get a green bird first, chances are your first shot should be somewhere on the back side of the level. The obvious play isn't the right one 100% of the time, but the majority of the time it is, so try that first.
- Try multiple strategies and think outside of the box. If what you're doing isn't working, take some time to survey the level and see if there is a different way to do it. Just flinging your first bird straight into the middle of the level is rarely the right strategy.
- Finish fast (usually) Any birds left over after completing the level get you a 10,000 point bonus, so in most cases the best way to get a high score is to pop the pigs using the smallest number of birds possible to take advantage of that bonus. In rare cases, however (normally cases involving large numbers of stone blocks), you're actually better off to focus on destroying as much as possible, even if it means using all of your birds, because the points you get from the blocks are worth more than the bonuses for saving the birds.
- Focus on one level until it's done. If you want to make the most efficient use of your time in this game, the best strategy is to work on one level until you have 3 stars and 100% destruction before moving on to the next one. There are plenty of little quirks to each level, and understanding how things will break and which way they will fall is the key to mastering them, so if you skip around you'll spend a lot of time re-learning levels.
- YouTube is your best friend. When all else fails, there are literally thousands of videos online showing how to get 3 stars and 100% completion in every level, so any time you feel frustrated or just can't figure out the best way to tackle a level, don't hesitate to do a quick Google search for the answer. That still doesn't guarantee success, because some of them are just downright hard, but at least you can get an idea of what it will take. It would be great if all of the videos could be compiled in this guide, but it's just not practical due to the sheer number of levels and the multiple requirements for each one. Additionally, different videos have different strategies and you may need to try a few different ones to find one that works for you.
[top]Roadmap
- Play through all of the normal levels one at a time, making sure to get 3 stars in every level, 100% destruction with the Mighty Eagle, and any collectibles before moving on to the next one.
- Play through all of the Golden Egg levels.
- Clean up. You will likely have earned all of the random trophies already, but if you've missed any, get them now.
[top]Bird Guide
Each bird is unique and will behave differently when shot. Many of them also have secondary abilities that you can activate by pressing
a second time while they are in the air. Some of the abilities will not work once the bird has made contact with anything else in the level (block, pig, other bird, etc), and those are noted below.
Red Bird
Special Ability: None
Ability works after contact: N/A
Good against: Weak wooden blocks
Strategy: Not much to say on this one. It's not going to break much more than one or two weak wooden blocks, so this is more about putting it in the right place and trying to start a chain reaction. Can also be used to topple stacks of stone or strong wooden blocks, since it won't break them.
Blue Bird
Special Ability: Splits into three birds when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: No
Good against: Ice blocks and widespread pigs
Strategy: Depends on the layout of the level. If you need to tear a hole deep in a structure or get through several ice blocks, you're better off waiting until the last possible second to split the birds because they will be more powerful that way. If you need to take out many small ice blocks or pigs that are spread apart, you'll need to do it sooner, and it will take some trial and error to figure out the proper starting trajectory and split point.
Yellow Bird
Special Ability: Accelerates rapidly when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: No
Good against: Wooden blocks
Strategy: Though small, this bird can do some serious damage to wood blocks when he gets up to speed, but it cuts a very small path of destruction. You'll want to aim carefully to get this one in the right place and try to start a chain reaction. Its amazing speed also means it can reach far off targets better than any other bird, and can also be used to knock over towers of stone blocks. It will not break stone, though, unless it is already heavily damaged, and is almost worthless against ice.
Black Bird
Special Ability: Explodes when
is pressed or a few seconds after first contact with any object.
Ability works after contact: Yes
Good against: Stone blocks
Strategy: Generally speaking, your best bet with this bird is to burrow it deep into a structure (it penetrates stone blocks very well, even before it explodes) and let it explode out to completely demolish it. There are also times, however, when you want to explode it just as it's making contact with the structure so that momentum will carry the explosion forward.
White Bird
Special Ability: Drops and exploding egg when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: No
Good against: Almost any kind of structure
Strategy: There are two main ways this bird is commonly used. The first is when you have a long hole in the structure and need to drop the egg down that hole and let it explode, but the second and more common is a double hit: causing the egg to drop just before the bird makes contact with the structure, so that the egg explodes at its base and the rest of the bird shoots into its side. The timing is tricky, but if done right it can cause massive damage.
Green (Boomerang) Bird
Special Ability: Flys backwards after
is pressed
Ability works after contact: No
Good against: Wood and ice blocks
Strategy: The primary use for this bird is to hit things on the backside of the formation that would be otherwise unreachable. It will fly a long way on the initial shot, and then you can press
to send it hurtling backwards at the most vulnerable spot. A lesser known and used option is to initially shoot the bird backward and then press
to send it flying quickly forward. This can come into play when there is no obvious weak spot on the back side and you need a hard blow to the front of the formation.
Big Brother Bird
Special Ability: None
Ability works after contact: N/A
Good against: Everything
Strategy: There's nothing fancy about this guy - he's just really big, and does a ton of damage against almost any kind of structure. The only thing you need to worry about is where to aim him so that he does the most effective damage.
Orange Bird
Special Ability: Puffs up violently when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: Yes
Good against: Not directly good against anything - placement is key
Strategy: This bird is very light and therefore virtually useless with a direct hit. Its benefit is in the fact that it will puff up to several times its normal size when you press the
button, so the key is to aim well and get it in a tight spot in the level where, when expanded, it will push everything around it outward, starting a chain reaction. Optionally, you can also aim it directly at a block and tap
just as it reaches it, and the combination of the bird's momentum and the puffing will do some decent damage to weaker blocks.
Blu
Special Ability: Shakes around violently when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: No (automatically activates on contact with anything)
Good against: Weaker structures such as wood
Strategy: Placement is key again - if you can, the best strategy is to drop him in between two structures and let him go crazy, because he'll shake around and knock things down in both directions. You must aim well, because if he hits anything (even a feather or flag) before he gets to where you want him, he'll spaz out early and cause no damage to anything.
Blu & Jewel
Special Ability: Flies rapidly in a straight line when
is pressed.
Ability works after contact: No
Good against: Weaker structures such as wood and ice, anything that can be knocked over because of their speed
Strategy: Like so many of the other birds, this is really a two-step process - getting the first toss right and then activating them at the right time. Unlike many of the others, though, the first step is usually not nearly as important as the second. Since they fly in a straight line forever (until they hit something, obviously), you just need to get the elevation right with the first toss and then let them go.

Angriest Birdiest
Get all Trophies

Get all Trophies
In case it isn't obscenely obvious to anyone who plays PS3 games by now, this trophy will pop as soon as you earn every other trophy in the game.
[top]
Squeak
Smash a pig

Smash a pig
Unless you just pop this game in your system and then never try to play it, you WILL earn this trophy. Smashing pigs is the entire point of the game, and you can't even pass the first level without smashing one, so you will get it almost at the moment you start playing for the first time.
[top]
Sniper
Smash a distant pig with a direct hit

Smash a distant pig with a direct hit
Like many of the trophies in this list, you will almost certainly get this at some point without trying. To earn it, you simply need to directly hit a pig (without hitting a block or anything else first) that is a fair distance away in the level. There's no real definition here as to how far away it needs to be to earn this, but it's well within the normal range of any of the birds.
Note that you can also earn this trophy by getting a direct hit on a pig with the egg dropped by a white bird.

Bacon
Smash 1000 pigs

Smash 1000 pigs
This is the first of several cumulative trophies and it, like nearly all of the others, will come naturally and very early on. As noted above, you move from one level to the next by smashing all of the pigs in the level you're on, and levels can have as few as one pig or as many as 100 (in some of the bonus levels). Every time you smash a pig it counts toward this total, even if you restart the level, and once your overall total reaches 1000 this trophy will be yours.
[top]
Stardust
Collect 500 stars

Collect 500 stars
As you play through the levels, you are rated with one to three stars, depending on the score you achieve. This trophy is based on your cumulative total of stars, and since there are over 600 levels in the game, you'll easily knock this one out as you play through, especially if you're getting three stars in each level as you go.

You are a Star
Get 3 stars in any level

Get 3 stars in any level
As noted above, you'll get a rating between one and three stars for every level you complete in the game, based on the score you achieve, and the first time you earn a three star rating, you'll also earn this trophy.
Check out the Tips & Strategies section above for more advice on earning three stars in every level.
This is another one of those that you can (and probably will) get on the very first level.

You are a Superstar
Get 3 stars in all levels in an episode

Get 3 stars in all levels in an episode
As the description says, this trophy will pop as soon as you earn a three star score in every single level of one episode. Each episode is displayed on a vertical bar on the main menu for each game, and the total number of stars earned for that episode (as well as your overall star rating) are shown on that bar.
This trophy will pop as soon as you earn every single star (i.e. 90/90) in one episode. This will also be designated by a three star rating displayed at the top of that episode's menu bar.

Get 3 stars in every single level

Get 3 stars in every single level
This is one of the two most difficult trophies in this game, and probably the most time consuming. To unlock it, you have to earn a three star rating in every single level of every episode, including bonus levels. This will take quite a while and will cause not a little frustration, but at least they were nice enough to give you a shiny gold trophy for this one.

Mighty Eagle
Get 100% Eagle score in every single level

Get 100% Eagle score in every single level

for two seconds. There are few things to keep in mind with this trophy:
- Placement of the can is key. The eagle will bounce when he hits the ground, so you need to make sure you can stop the can in the right place to get the most benefit out of his downward flight as well as his path back up after he hits the ground. Getting 100% is more often about taking advantage of the upward path than it is about him destroying everything on the way down.
- 100% Destruction rarely means that you will actually destroy 100% of the objects in the level. Like earning three stars, there is a threshold you have to reach to earn a 100% score, and figuring out what that threshold is can often be half the battle. You just have to use some trial and error, seeing what your score was the last time and how you can improve it. In some cases, the score is based more on certain types of blocks than others, so that you could get it just by destroying all of the wooden blocks and leaving the stone ones, for example.
- You can use the other birds first, and will almost always need to. Use the normal birds at your disposal to destroy as much of the level as possible before activating the Eagle, so that you have less to do once you do unleash it. Just make sure you activate the eagle before the last normal bird is done, because once you destroy all of the pigs or run out of birds, you can no longer use it.
- Many of the strategies listed above for getting three stars (when to use what birds, etc) will still apply here, including using YouTube for help if you get stuck. All of the answers are out there for you to find, so don't bang your head against the wall too much when you don't have to.

Completed Poached Eggs
Complete Classic Episode 1 (without the Mighty Eagle)

Complete Classic Episode 1 (without the Mighty Eagle)
This is a story related trophy.
You will unlock this trophy as soon as you have completed every level in Episode 1 of Angry Birds Classic using only the normal birds which you are given at the start of the level.
Your star rating does not matter for this trophy - as long as you have passed each level without using the Eagle, you'll get it.
Although the trophy description is a little misleading, using the Mighty Eagle does not disqualify you from earning it - you just won't get it if you have any levels which were skipped using the Eagle. If you do skip one, you'll have to come back and complete it using only the normal birds before this trophy will pop. This is the same for each of the episodic trophies listed below.

Complete all Episodes (without the Mighty Eagle)

Complete all Episodes (without the Mighty Eagle)
This is a story related trophy.
You will unlock this trophy as soon as you have completed every level in all 19 episodes (6 in Classic, 7 in Seasons and 6 in Rio), as well as every bonus level. Your star rating for each level does not matter, you only need to complete them.
As with the episodic trophies above, you must have completed each level using only the normal birds which you are given at the start, and cannot have skipped any levels using the Mighty Eagle. If you have used the Eagle to skip any levels, you'll need to go back and complete with the normal bird allotment before you'll earn this trophy.

Smash 5000 blocks

Smash 5000 blocks
Although smashing pigs is the main goal of this game, breaking blocks is the main method of achieving that goal. To that end, you will smash thousands of blocks throughout the course of your time playing this game, and once you've demolished the first 5,000 of any kind, this trophy will be yours.
Needless to say, this one will come very early on.

Smash 100,000 blocks
Although 100,000 is a lot of blocks, don't fret - this is another one of those trophies that will come naturally long before you finish playing this game. By the time you make your way through all 19 episodes and the bonus and Golden Egg levels, you'll rack up far more than the amount of destruction needed to unlock this trophy.

Smash 5000 Stone Blocks

Smash 5000 Stone Blocks
Another very easy and natural trophy, this one will pop as soon as you smash your 5000th stone block. These are the most difficult to break and require explosives or a pretty good chain reaction, but you'll still get this in time, and relatively early on, although it will probably be the last of the 5,000 block trophies you'll see.

Icebreaker

Smash 5000 Ice Blocks

Get 10,000,000 total points

Get 10,000,000 total points
Not surprisingly, you will unlock this trophy once your cumulative point total across all levels and episodes reaches 10 Million. While this may seem like a lot, you will get somewhere around 3.5 Million for each episode in Classic and 1.5-2.5 Million in the other games, so you will easily reach this well before you finish the game. In fact, if you've ever attempted to go after the Score Addict achievements in the mobile versions of the game, you will find this laughably easy.
Note: There have been some reports that this trophy many not pop immediately upon hitting 10 Million, but it does not appear to be permanently glitched. Most report getting it shortly after hitting the required number and/or after finishing the next level.

To earn this trophy, you simply need to find and hit 5 Golden Eggs (thereby unlocking 5 levels). You'll know you've hit one when the screen goes dark and the Golden Egg pops up in the middle.

Throughout Angry Birds Classic and Seasons, there are Golden Eggs hidden on several levels. Finding them and hitting them with a bird will unlock a secret level that you can play later, and finding all of them will earn you this trophy.
For the most part, this is a simple exercise and if you take a few seconds before each level to zoom all the way out (using

Blockpocalypse
Smash 50 blocks with the first bird (before launching another bird)

Smash 50 blocks with the first bird (before launching another bird)
This is another very self explanatory trophy, and is probably one that you will earn without even trying at some point, but obviously the key is that you have to find the right level to do it in - one that has at least 50 blocks and provides you with a way to break them on your first bird.
According to PS3Trophies.com user Kratos, Bonus Level #2 in Angry Birds Classic (unlocked after completing Mighty Hoax) is a great place to knock this one out.
As the description says, you must demolish the required number of blocks before flinging a second bird, so have a little patience and enjoy the carnage.

Launch 5000 birds

Launch 5000 birds
Every time you pull back and send one of your little birds flying, it adds up toward your cumulative total for this trophy. While 5,000 may seem like a lot, it counts every single time you do it (including restarting levels, etc) and you'll get this trophy very early on without even trying.

Launch 10 birds backwards

Launch 10 birds backwards
This is one of several trophies that you can easily get out of the way on the very first level of the game, and it's just as simple as it sounds. Instead of pulling back to the left and flinging the bird to the right, pull back to the right and launch it off of the map to the left.
Rinse and repeat 9 times, and the trophy is yours. Work on this in conjunction with
Pig Friendly.

Wright Flyer
Make a bird fly 200 meters

Make a bird fly 200 meters
This trophy is not cumulative - you actually have to make a bird fly 200 meters in one fling. The tricky thing about it is that you have to be on a level that is big enough that you can actually see most or all of the 200 meters the bird flies. You can't just send a bird off of the edge of a small map, even if it's on a trajectory that would allow it to travel 200 meters.
Once you find a big enough map, there are two ways you can get it: Either use a yellow bird which you send up at about a 70 degree angle initially, and then tap to send it off quickly at about a 30 degree angle, or shoot a green bird high up into the air backwards and then tap it again to make it boomerang forward. In either case, you'll need to make sure it is high enough to clear any obstacles that might exist on that level (or have them cleared out by other birds first).

Send birds flying 100 km

Send birds flying 100 km
This is another one of those "you'll get it eventually without trying" trophies. Although distance is not something that's overly clear in this game, this trophy is cumulative across all plays on every level, and you'll earn it very early on, as soon as your total distance reaches 100 km.

Hyperefficient
Finish a level with a single bird

Finish a level with a single bird
To pop this trophy, you just need to be able to destroy all of the pigs in a given level using only one bird. If you fling a second (even if it's after the last pig is popped), you won't get it.
Not surprisingly, your first opportunity to ring up this gem is on the very first level. It's about as simple as simple gets, and can easily be finished with the first bird.

Fail a level 10 consecutive times

Fail a level 10 consecutive times
As the trophy description says, you simply need to waste all of your allotted birds without destroying all of the pigs, and do that ten times in a row, to earn this trophy. Chances are, you'd get this somewhere along the line without trying, but you might as well get it out of the way early on the first level.

Squawkward, simply keep flinging all of your birds backwards until you've managed to reach this wonderful peak of futility.

Supper-Effective
Clear out a level completely (without the Mighty Eagle)

Clear out a level completely (without the Mighty Eagle)
To earn this trophy, you'll need to completely destroy every single block in a level using only the birds you're given from the start.
The best opportunity to get this early on will come in level 1-16 of AB Classic. It's a relatively small level made up completely of wooden blocks, and you get five yellow birds with which to deal damage. The main challenge here is that you will almost certainly destroy the pigs before you break all of the blocks, but you can keep flinging birds even after the last pig pops, as long as you do it quickly. Just work your way across the level, destroying any blocks on the left side before getting anywhere near the last pig on the right, and once you do pop him, move quickly to fling the rest of your birds before the level ends.
As user Kratos points out, you can also get this easily on Golden Egg level #5, since there are no blocks to destroy. As long as you can manage to finish the level by popping all of the pigs, the trophy will be yours (if you haven't managed to get it before then).

Scramble
Have 5 different birds in play at one time

Have 5 different birds in play at one time
The key to this one is that when they say different, they really do mean different. You can't just go the first level that gives you a total of five birds and fling them all out to earn it - they actually have to be five different kinds of birds. For this reason, you won't be able to earn this trophy until you progress far enough in the game to get the fifth different type of bird unlocked and then get into a level where you actually get all 5 to use in the same one.
Once you've reached that point, you just need to make sure you have all five birds in play at one time. They don't all have to be in the air together, but they do have to still be on screen, so if one pops or goes off screen before you launch the 5th, it won't work.
Another thing to note is that one of the 5 birds cannot be a Black Bird (unless it is the last one), because it will explode before you have a chance to get the others airborne.
Kratos checks in once more to suggest Angry Birds Classic level 7-9 as an early opportunity to unlock this trophy.
