[top]Tips and Strategies

  • Cheats DO NOT disable trophies

  • Co op can be played online, or offline with split screen.

  • Split screen co op can be played by one person, but you do need two controllers. Whenever you die, pick up the second controller to revive yourself. There is no need for player 2 to follow you, whenever you get on a vehicle, get in an elevator, or open a door, they will magically appear right behind you. Playing through the whole game like this can be annoying, but if you do it on the Insane difficulty setting, then you only need to play through the game once for the platinum trophy.

  • All of the trophies can be achieved offline in split screen co op, or in the online co op mode. (There are two trophies that you cannot earn on single player mode.)

  • When you die or restart from the last checkpoint, the actions you took previous to that are still saved. This makes for some great farming situations for a lot of these trophies.
For example: If you kill two enemies with explosive damage, and then die or restart from the last checkpoint, you will still have those two kills from explosive damage logged. So if you kill those same two enemies again, your total will be four.

Cheats:
Enter the following cheat codes in the unlockables section. Don't forget to activate them as well.

Revenant: Unlocks Insane difficulty setting
BlowOffSomeSteam: Unlocks the most powerful pistol (Extremely helpful when playing on Insane)
LockNLoad: Unlocks the ability to decide which weapons you want to carry. Make sure to have a sniper rifle in there, as it makes the game, and some of the trophies a lot easier.

Double Time
Complete any chapter after Arrowtree in Co-op on any difficulty.

The easiest and quickest way to get this trophy would be to play any level after Arrowtree on the Casual difficulty setting in co op mode. However, you if play the level for the first time on the Insane difficulty setting in co op mode, you will also receive all the trophies associated with the completion of that level.
Remember you can play through the level alone in split screen mode and still earn this trophy.

[top]
People Skills
Complete the game in Co-op on any difficulty.

The easiest and quickest way to get this trophy would be to play through the game on the Casual difficulty setting in co op mode. However, you if play the game for the first time on the Insane difficulty setting in co op mode, you will also receive all the trophies associated with the completion of the game.
Remember you can play through the game alone in split screen mode and still earn this trophy.

[top]
Sniper
Get 20 Headshots.

Whenever you see an enemy, use your sniper rifle and shoot them in the head. The sniper rifle has two additional zoom levels for improved accuracy. Do this throughout the game, and you will receive the trophy. I recommend trying to do this without alerting the enemies, that way you can earn the Where'd They Come From? trophy with the same kills. Check the Where'd They Come From? trophy for information on how do do this without alerting enemies.

[top]
Where'd They Come From
Kill 20 enemies without alerting them.

Whenever you see enemies in the distance that are not in combat, take out your sniper rifle and shoot them in the head. The sniper rifle has two additional zoom levels for improved accuracy. Do this throughout the game and you will eventually receive this trophy.
Alternatively, farm headshots at any area when you see several enemies in the distance who are unaware of your presence. There are many spots in the first two levels where this can be done. After killing the enemies, either get yourself killed or load the last check point and repeat the process until you receive the trophy. If an enemy starts shooting at you, or running around looking for you, then they have been alerted, and the kill will not count. The headshot, however, will count towards the Sniper trophy.

[top]
Pedestrian Crossing
Kill 20 enemies with a vehicle.

Whenever on a vehicle in the game, try to run over enemies to kill them. To assure that you do in fact end their meaningless lives, press to boost before hitting them. Do this throughout the game, and you should eventually receive the trophy.
Alternatively, when you first encounter enemies while riding in a vehicle, drive around the area and run them over (remembering to press to boost.) When there are a only a couple of enemies left, let them kill you, and repeat this process. Your kills will still be recorded upon death. Keep doing this until you earn the trophy. This should only take a few minutes, as there are about 8-12 enemies in the area.

[top]
Pyro
Kill 20 enemies with explosive damage.

Explosive damage is inflicted via yellow exploding barrels and trip mines. Throughout the game, use trip mines, and shoot the yellow barrels when enemies are near them. After you have killed 20 enemies this way, you will be awarded the trophy.
Alternatively, at the start of the second level after killing the miners in the very beginning, you will go through a short tunnel. At the end of the tunnel are two miners standing next to some yellow barrels on a ledge. Shoot the barrels before you partners do, and that will count towards your explosive damage killing count. Load up you last check point and do this 10 times to receive the trophy.

[top]
Dumb Luck
Kill 5 enemies at once with explosive damage.

Explosive damage is inflicted via yellow exploding barrels and trip mines. This trophy is extremely difficult to do alone. While in Terra Verte, there will be a few opportunities to achieve this. The two easiest are either after you slide down the chain and jump into the sewers, or when you man the turret that is above ground later in the level.
Have a friend kite the enemies near the barrels (you should do this on Casual difficulty, so your friend doesn't die) and when you have five enemies close enough to the barrels, shoot them to kill the enemies and get the trophy.

[top]
Wall Jumper
Successfully wall-jump 100 times.

You will likely achieve this trophy without trying while playing through the campaign. Alternatively, go to any area where you can wall jump, and perform the action 100 times. If you get to the last level and have yet to receive the trophy, I would recommend farming the wall jump action until you receive the trophy, just to prevent any chance of you not earning it.

[top]
Free Style Walker
Chain together any 3 physical abilities in 5 seconds or less.

The three physical abilities this trophy is referring to are jumps or various climbing maneuvers. You will likely receive this trophy on accident. In Arrowtree, in the area where you first learn to wall jump, perform a wall jump and grab onto a ledge. Pull yourself up, then perform the wall jump again. If you can do this within the 5 second time frame, you will be awarded the trophy. If you find it too challenging, there are plenty of other areas where you can perform various "physical abilities" within the time frame. Anywhere where you can wall jump is a safe bet.

Found It!
Collect 1 Emblem.

Emblems can be recognized by the blue glow which they emit. Approach the emblem, and press to pick them up.
The first emblem is in Arrowtree. It is on the ground floor of the building where you first fight the enemies.

Skeet Shooter
Shoot 25 Trip Mines out of the air.

This is an extremely annoying and tedious trophy to achieve alone. What you have to do is throw a trip mine, and shoot it before it hits the ground. Your best bet is to use the shotgun or assault rifle.
If you have a friend help you with this, it will make your life so much easier. Ideally, you should position yourself near a place with a few trip mines on the ground (so you can pound down six or so at a time before having to reload the last checkpoint.) Have your friend throw a trip mine in the air, and position yourself so it will be easy to shoot. Shoot the trip mine before it hits the ground, and it will blow up. Do this 25 times.
Note: Some people have said they can do this alone by simply throwing them straight up into the air and shooting them. I had no such luck. But if you can, more power to you.
