I played the DLC twice, on Standard Normal and Pure Survival. When I reached the reactor room and activated it, this is what I needed to do:
- Open one of the hatches to let the green orb out
- Stasis the spinning reactor
- Kinesis the green orb into one of the reactor's opening
- 3 yellow cylinders will then pop out around the reactor
- Shoot the 3 yellow cylinders until they explode
- Repeat the above steps 2 more times
- Door will then become unlocked to proceed
Ok this is incredibly weird. My first run on Normal I followed the steps above and everything happened just like in the aforementioned guide - the door on the other side unlocked. No issues.
On my Pure Survival run, after I Kinesis the 1st Green Orb into the Reactor, 3 yellow cylinders popped out and I shot them. Fine. Then, when I Kinesis the 2nd Green Orb into the Reactor, only 1 yellow cylinder popped out. I shot it and the door unlocked!
For my friends' first run on Normal .. he shot only 3 cylinders (1st time) and the door unlocked.
This doesn't matter to me but I was just wondering if there's a glitch with this level? And, has anyone else come across this issue.
hey i noticed in your guide in Chapter 2 that the last collectable is a circuit, but the location of it isnt filled in
just something i noticed, but still awesome job!!
This is because I have no idea where the last circuit is. I know there's a certain amount of circuits in the level, and I got all but one and I can't seem to find it. If you know which one I missed feel free to tell me.
Just wanted to let you know (I've tried this and it works 100%)...
but you actually only need to do this dlc with one playthrough. Start it on pure survival mode and follow the steps that you have laid out, however; for the two trophies needed for allowing the cult leader to live or die can be obtained on one playthrough.
After beating the section with the moons/markers and the cult leader appears on his knees in front of you; allow him to live. Let carver finish his conversation all the way through. Then step in the elevator and push the button. As soon as you see the elevator start to go down, press pause and wait for trophy to pop up. Then once it does, press "reload checkpoint"... You'll be at the moon/marker section again.
This time once the cult leader is in front of you, kill him for the second trophy. Wa la. Two playthroughs unnecessary. Then proceed to dismember and then teabag his body for being invincible for those previous sections. Please put this in your guide as it will save many people a playthrough and valuable time. (however this dlc is so short; yet good, that it warrents multiple playthroughs.

Also would anyone please be so kind as to add me on ps3 for a few mins and help me get the "heaven can wait" trophy where I stasis a partner so the bleed out timer slows down? I have the platinum and this is the last trophy I need but noone on my list owns this dlc. I would greatly appreciate it. Add Kyrinthian and say DS3 DLC Trophy. Thanks in advanced to whoever is generous enough to give me ten mins of their time. I appreciate it.
i didnt get the pure lunacy trophy. i played the game on hard. like it says in the info for it.
Pure Survival is all about resource management. You need to carefully ration your resources and make what's needed to survive the game. There are close to no item drops at all, and the enemies only drop resources. What you'll need to craft will more than likely come down to health packs and ammo, which of course require somatic gel and scrap metal. If that wasn't enough you also are set on hard difficulty. If you are having absolute trouble you can always use the devil horns and infinite ammunition exploits that are explained in the exploit section of this guide. Doing these pretty much ruin the experience though, since you will have a one-shot kill gun with infinite amounts of ammo. I also highly recommend you play with a friend and just run through the DLC, you can make it to the end in about an hour or two's time.
