I am basing the # of playthroughs if the player follows my road map.) Play on the DETECTIVE difficulty and find the 50 cop badges during the first playthrough, then begin to mop up each individual area.
Collectible Trophies: Yes
Missable Trophies: None of the trophies are "missable". Any trophy you do not earn in a Chapter can be redone. Even the collectible "badges" can be earned at any point in a subsequent playthrough. Be warned though that if you engage in back-tracking before the final credits you may lose your current save data.

SPOILER WARNING, I DO NOT PUT SPOILER BOXES UP FOR ANY REASON SO YOU ARE READING AT YOUR OWN RISK. I WILL NOT PUT MAJOR PLOT DEVICES IN THE GAME BUT WILL REVEAL CRITICAL INFORMATION IF NECESSARY TO OBTAIN A TROPHY.

Most if not all of the trophies do not pop up immediately after the condition is satisfied. You will have to wait until the end of the Chapter during the score tally screen.

[top]Roadmap

The game is a straight-forward action game that features dog-fighting, hand to hand combat, and general gun play. The game itself allows for some freedom of how you want to approach a given situation. That being said, go ahead and play the the game on the DETECTIVE difficulty and focus on earning the 50 cop badges. (Link provided below for all 50 badge locations.) You may also want to focus on achieving a Gold Badge per level. A Gold Badge is received once the player has earned a certain score for performance, time, and difficulty. The difficulty is a multiplier (hence playing on DETECTIVE nets you a 1.5x score multiplier, OFFICER is 1.25x, CADET, 1.0x) and the finish time you do not need to worry about all that much. Do focus on the killing the enemies differently though and with the different game mechanics. Some example bonuses: 1. shoot a guy in the head, 2. disarms, 3. shoot a guy in the chest and then send Shadow to finish him off and 4. throwing a guy off a ledge. Typically a score of 9,500+ will net you the gold badge.

Once the first playthrough is complete, you may repeat any level and re-earn any missed trophies. You may set the difficulty to OFFICER and below.

Difficulty:**
During the course of Chapter 1 Jack will come across different set of hostages. The first situation is simple as the game allows for you to simply win the situation. The difficult portion is when you enter Temple studios and you see two thugs holding 4 hostages against the wall. The moment you come to the top of the stairs enter focus mode and go for head shots immediately; doing so will not allow the thugs any time to react to your assault and will allow you a comfort zone to focus.

Clear a path for Jack

Difficulty:*
Story related trophy earned once you have escorted Jack to the bar as Shadow. When prompted use to go into Shadow's sense mode and you can see the enemies easier as they are red.

Acquire Shadow

Difficulty:*
Story related trophy earned in Chapter 2 when you head to the docks with Jack and Frank. Will be earned at the end of the Chapter.

Help Jack and Frank into Milton

Difficulty:*
Story related trophy earned after you have completed Shadow's portion of the level. During Shadow's section also focus on earning the 10 Silent kills necessary for the the Shhhh trophy. A good key to accomplishing this portion with ease is to watch and study the pattern of each thug and ascertain when it is the best time to strike. Typically, it is best to Silent Kill with and then use when given the prompt.

Commuter disruption
Cause the train crash

Difficulty:**
Story related trophy given after Chapter 3. Chapter 3 serves as your introduction to the gun play, fighting, and dog aspects of the game. The triads in this level use light machine pistols as the primary weapons with the exception of one sniper when the two streets intersect. Watch your use of Shadow through this level as many of the cover point expose you to fire from each angle. Once you come across the RPG enemy I implore you to find a battle rifle or grenade and quickly eliminate him.
The second portion of the level has you on a train while trying to disarm bombs along the way. No use of Shadow here so go for those head shots and keep moving.

Drag Jack out of harm's way

Difficulty:*
Story related trophy and earned during Chapter 4. After the train car crash Jack is injured and it is time for Shadow to protect him. The section is straight-forward and simple, remember to not push forward so far as to leave Jack exposed to a random, hidden enemy.

Apparently I CAN kill you
Defeat Tseng

Difficulty:**
The end boss of Chapter 4 is a cocaine sniffing karate expert. I recommend using guerrilla tactics as Tseng has his own 5-hit combo that can seriously do some harm and turn the tide of the battle. I personally used focus mode lightly when I attacked to cause extra damage and stayed a reasonable distance from him until I was able to attack from behind. A could tactic to also use is Shadow sometimes to get some extra hits but do not abuse the privilege because you can easily lose Shadow and the battle now turns to a 3 on 1 fracas. Simply put: 1. go for the 3-hit combo, 2. back up and let Tseng perform his move, 3. juke around Tseng until you are behind him, 4. pummel him with another 3-hit combo, and 4. prepare for a defensive stand.

Fetch!
Find a way to get Jack through the gate

Difficulty:*
The largest silent section for Shadow can also be the most difficult if you are not careful or if you attempt to rush it. The first portion of Shadow's run is simple, the second section is the difficult one. When you round the corner and see three thugs (one of which is using the computer), wait until 2 of them disperse and use a low bark + to lure one thug to you. Silent kill and drag the body back near the construction equipment. Repeat with the other two guards and then proceed into the warehouse and kill everyone.

The battle, not the war
Escape the GAC

Difficulty:**
Story-related trophy in Chapter 5. Once Jack stumbles upon the GAC staging area you are introduced to the "uber"-soldier the GAC. Do not fret the only plus-side to the GAC over the previous thugs are the weaponry. Your initial encounter will place you in a shoot it out or die situation. Simply hide behind a box and unleash hell. When one is standing all alone, approach him and engage in hand-to-hand combat. Take him hostage to also earn the Got your GAC trophy for taking a GAC trooper hostage. Remember to hit him a few time, use + to grapple and then to take the GAC trooper hostage. The taking of the GAC trooper hostage is a good strategy overall to moving through the rest of the game, the GAC will hesitate to engage Jack while he has a hostage.

Destroy the choppers

Difficulty:**
During the latter part of Chapter 6 Jack is tasked with destroying the 3 choppers that are transporting GAC supplies and troops to the city. The first chopper is simple as you must enter the bottom portion to unlock the bridge to gain actual access to the chopper. The second chopper is the same. The final chopper will become a pain as 4-6 GAC snipers, 3 regular GAC troops and 1 GAC tank will attack after the final chopper has been destroyed. If you have a sniper rifle (which at this point of the game carry one at all times when available) use focus and take out the tank quickly. Retreat back to the right and eliminate the snipers, once done head towards the exit.

Keeping Faith
Rescue Faith

Difficulty:*
The primary focus of Chapter 7 is to carry Faith to the roof and seek a medical helicopter. I recommend dropping Faith in cover away from you as stray bullets and random enemies like to fire upon the wounded Faith. The first part of the Chapter has you carry her to the top of the building, simple enough. Place Faith in a safe area and continue to take out the bad guys as they appear. The second portion of the Chapter is to eliminate the spot lights. During your travels you will be exposed to 3 machine gun nests placed in positions unfavorable to you. I recommend using focus and go for the head shot on the turret holder and then charge the gun so as to discourage other GAC troops from reaching it. Once the lights are out and you return to Faith you earn the trophy.

Get Jack to the bar in one piece

Difficulty:*
The beginning of Chapter 7 opens the same as the Prologue. Get Jack to the bar as Shadow. There are more enemies now so pay attention and do not venture to far forward as the enemy entry points are spread out.

GAC hawk down
Take out the Gunship

Difficulty:***
The mid-level enemy of Chapter 8 will have you going one on one with a GAC gunship. You do not use Temple as a shield, and your gun choices are slim here. If you have the M60 type machine gun then you are in the best position at the start of the fight. Take out the spot light and find cover when he fires a missile. Now 4 blue sensors will arise (two to each side). Focus on the left ones first and then work your way back to take out the right 2. Along the way do not forget to reload your machine gun from the second set ammo box. Once the sensors are down the pilot will be revealed, go into focus mode and take him down.

Imprison Temple

Difficulty:**
Story related trophy for Chapter 9. You will be assaulting a police station in order to relieve the true officers and detain Temple in a prison cell for the time being. Straight-forward level even when you enter the station to get Temple to jail.

Repel the GAC

Difficulty:***
After the police Captain has been released you are now tasked with defending three portions of the police station from a counter-attack. Use the shotgun as a good tool to clear out the areas quickly. The next part is an Alamo-type defense game. You need to protect the Captain from the left and right sides. Following that, you will be prompted to snipe the assaulting GAC forces. It is simple just use your focus and remember a typical sniper bullet to the chest area will take out any GAC troop.

Shut down the electric fences

Difficulty:**
Another Shadow portion but it is inside of the GAC compound. You can kill some GAC troops along the way but make sure you hide the bodies. Also, wait and study where the enemy is at all times that way Shadow is not exposed and raises the base alarm.

Defeat Redwater

Difficulty:***
The Redwater battle (at the end of Chapter 10) is similar to the Tseng battle, BUT HE HAS A KNIFE. The knife will turn the battle is a second if he can complete a combo. The best method is to enter focus mode and use a three hit combo and then when prompted disarm Redwater. Now you have the knife and begin to attack using the three hit combo to ensure that Redwater can not disarm you and get the knife back.

Complete the game on DETECTIVE difficulty

Difficulty:****
The DETECTIVE difficulty is a bit of a problem and will cause some problems, but with progress and practice you can master the system. Cover is always necessary and going in like Rambo is not wise. Keep Shadow is a safe area and always send him out for ammo when it is safe. The shotgun works wonders as it typically kills with one shot along with the sniper rifle. If a method you are using does not work try another path.

Defeat the Enforcer with a Takedown

Difficulty:*
The enforcer is a shirt-less biker thug at the beginning of Chapter 1. The screen will focus on the character so as to indicate who he is. Approach the Enforcer in hand-to-hand combat and simply pummel him and when prompted hit for a fancy Takedown.

Complete the fight with Frank

Difficulty:*
The beginning of Chapter 2 has Jack squaring off against his father, Frank. Simply go through the combo tutorial and ring the bell once finished. But stick around and perform the various combos for some good trophies.

The final Shadow section is in Chapter 10. Nothing really special here of note. This area is actually easier and more Shadow friendly.

During any Shadow section hold down to go into stealth mode and while an enemy is unaware of Shadow hit when prompted for a silent takedown.

Take out a GAC tank

Difficulty:**
The GAC tank makes his debut mid-way through Chapter 6. The lumbering opponent has a yellow tank on his back, aim for it. Two methods for taking him down:

1. With a Sniper Rifle it only takes 1-2 shots in order to destroy the canister on the GAC Tank's back.
2. If you are without the Sniper Rifle lay down a heavy barrage and send in Shadow. Shadow will grab the weapon of the GAC Tank and will expose the canister.

Kill an enemy by knocking or throwing him off a ledge

Difficulty:**
Engage an enemy in Chapters 1,7, or 10 in hand-to hand combat and grapple him with +. Now press and the directional stick in the direction of the the ledge. The enemy should now be thrown off the ledge to his death.

Take a GAC hostage

Difficulty:*
Beginning in Chapter 6 you will meet your new set of enemies for the rest of the game. The GAC are a bit tougher but still dumb. Engage one GAC in hand-to-hand combat and grapple him with +. Once grappled, press to make the GAC become a human shield.

Leap over and kick an enemy from cover

Difficulty:***
Little tricky to pull off. Get Jack into cover with an enemy on the other side of the cover. When promped hit and the directional stick forward to have Jack leap over the cover and kick the enemy that is on the other side.

Perform a tag team kill with Shadow

Difficulty:*
Tag team kills are very effective and should be used regularly. First, soften up an enemy with a couple of shots to the chest/stomach and then send Shadow with the button and Shadow will now finish off the targeted enemy.

Head Banger
Open 10 doors with a hostage head

Difficulty:**
Easily farmed immediately after the Shadow section of Chapter 2. Enter the warehouse and grab one enemy and make him into a hostage by pressing after a grapple +. Take him outside and hit his head on the gated fence door. Once opened immediately Restart The Checkpoint and perform it 9 more times.

Brawler
Complete any level (excluding the Prologue) without firing a shot

Difficulty:**
Chapter 2 is the easiest level to pull off this little stunt. The enemies are spread out enough to allow for some quick combos and retreat if necessary. During the last part of the Chapter where the ambush takes place, stay next to Frank and do not go wandering off. Frank will need some back up but overall he will keep shooting while you pick off anyone close to your position.

Perform a Shadow groin takedown

Difficulty:*
As Shadow you must approach a weakened enemy from the front and attack. Shadow will then go for the enemy's testicular fortitude. Easy trophy.

Perform 50 Takedowns

Difficulty: *
A takedown is defined as a prompt once a 3-5 hit combo has been delivered in rapid succession. Engage an enemy in hand-tohand combat and pummel the poor fool until the appears and press to enjoy a nice sequence.

Perform 50 Shadow kills

Difficulty:*
A Shadow kill is whenever Shadow performs the final attack on an enemy. Silent kills and other Shadow related kills count as Shadow kills.

A disarm is performed when you melee an armed enemy and when prompted by you take the gun away from the enemy.

Can be farmed in Chapter 2 against Frank during the boxing match. An evade is performed when an attacker is beginning his assault and you press +the directional stick around the would-be attacker effectively missing the punch and in a position to attack the assaulter.

If you max out your variation while keeping a decent time and playing on OFFICER or higher you can receive the requisite 9500 needed. During my one playthrough on DETECTIVE I earned the Gold Badge on every level without a problem because of the 1.5x multiplier.

During any of Shadow's "fetch" missions can this be accomplished. Approach the thugs from behind while holding and when prompted hit . The trophy will not pop up immediately but will do so after the chapter. Just keep track. If the outline of the thus is blue you performed a Silent Kill.

Perfect Balance
Achieve maximum VARIATION BONUS on any level (excluding the Prologue)

Difficulty:***
The variation bonus stems from your use of hand-to-hand combat, gun usage, Shadow kills, and other methods to dispatch the enemies. The max point total to earn is 1500 and can be done at any point in the game.

Boom!
Get 30 headshots in any level, on OFFICER or greater difficulty

Difficulty:*
One of the easiest ways to earn a headshot is to wait until an enemy either runs at you or pops his head out of cover to see where you are. Practicing on earning headshots will do wonders for you as you can fill up the focus meter quickly and use it to earn even more headshots. I was able to do it during Chapter 1 as the thugs are dumb and the head targets are rather large. Make sure the difficulty is at least on OFFICER.

Complete a level without Jack or Shadow dying (levels 3-10)

Difficulty:****
The best level is Chapter 7 when you are escorting Faith. The area is entirely narrow and during the latter part of the Chapter Shadow is not with you thus eliminating a potential problem. Refer to the Chapter 7 trophies for extra help on this Chapter if needed. Remember to take your time and if you die you must restart the Chapter.

Achieve maximum CLEAR TIME BONUS on any level (excluding the Prologue)

Difficulty:****
Any mission is fine and the difficulty does not matter. The best method is to keep moving while making sure you are not gunned down. The maximum clear time bonus is 3000 points.

Combine Jack and Shadow to kill 20 enemies in any level, on OFFICER or greater difficulty

Difficulty:**
The only condition for this trophy is that the difficulty must be on OFFICER or higher. Simply play any mission on OFFICER and follow this easy method. While using any weapon outside of the shotgun or sniper rifle, fire a few shots into a thug or GAC soldier and send Shadow in for the kill using . This is a group takedown and must be done 20 times within one Chapter. I found Chapter 4 or Chapter 3 the easiest to do this on. The only problem is you have to be careful with your use of Shadow, do not send him out there without cover and into a hail of bullet.s
