[top]Roadmap

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of those rare games where not only is it possible to get all trophies in a single playthrough, it's actually advisable. This may seem counter-intuitive at first, considering that Legend requires completing the game on the hardest difficulty, Pacifist requries you to complete the game without killing anyone, and Foxiest of the Hounds requires you to complete the game without a single alarm being raised. However, when you consider the fact that the experience point value of incapacitating an enemy is double that of killing them, there is a substantial experience point bonus for completing a mission objective without being seen (Ghost 500xp), another for completing a main mission without raising an alarm (Smooth Operator 250xp), and adopting a stealthy approach is significantly safer than direct engagement on hard, the logic starts to become clear. Since experience points directly translate to additional Praxis points for upgrades, performing all three major trophies in a single run will actually make your playthrough easier, improving your survivability considerably.

Difficulty setting affects the following:
  • Health
  • Health regeneration speed
  • Health regeneration delay
  • Energy regeneration speed
  • Energy regeneration delay
  • Enemy accuracy
  • Enemy health

There is in fact no benefit to playing on a lower difficulty while taking a stealthy approach. Difficulty setting does not affect hacking difficulty, or the likelihood of your detection at all. As a trophy hunter, the single playthrough method promises less risk, more experience, and less time spent overall, and is strongly recommended.

There are a lot of missable trophies in the game, so consult the Optimal Progression below, save frequently, and be prepared for what comes next.

WARNING: Read the trophy guide entries for Pacifist and Foxiest of the Hounds BEFORE starting the game.

Special Note Regarding Social Trophies: While in conversation with an NPC that awards a social trophy, the response you choose will affect your Persuasion Level with that character. Each response will either have a negative or positive affect on your Persuasion Level, and the effectiveness of each response will vary. The initial portion of the conversation will always be the same, and choosing the same response will always have the same results. After the first response, the NPC you are speaking with will answer with one of a number of possible statements chosen from a random pool. Each of the three responses you can choose from will have a different effect, based on the statement the NPC makes. These are specific to each statement, so choosing the same combination of answers will not always provide the same results. You will have to tailor your responses to match the statement the NPC gives in order to ensure a successful outcome.

Consult the videos in the guides for the complete solution, which are presented in the following format:

If you use the Social Enhancer augmentation, you will see the exact effectiveness of your responses. You begin at 50% Persuasion Level. Each plus is worth about 12.5%, and a minus is worth 25%. As long as you have at least 50% by the end of the challenge, you will succeed and earn the trophy. Always save your game before attempting these trophies! The complete list of social trophies are:
  • Unforeseen Consequence
  • The Desk Job
  • Yes Boss
  • Darker Shades
  • The Throwdown
  • The Last Straw
  • The Final Countdown

[top]Trophies

[top]
Platinum
You unlocked every trophy in the game

[top]
First Takedown
Perform your first Takedown. Civilians don't count, so be nice.

Once you reach the Sarif Manufacturing Plant, you'll be able to perform takedowns. With a full energy cell, approach an enemy and tap for a non-lethal takedown, or hold for a lethal takedown. Either way, when the enemy hits the ground you'll get your trophy.

[top]
Opportunist
Perform 50 takedowns within the same playthrough. (Civilians don't count.)

With a full energy cell, approach an enemy and tap for a non-lethal takedown, or hold for a lethal takedown. Once you've performed fifty takedowns on enemies, you will earn this trophy. As the description says, civilian takedowns will not count towards this trophy. If you perform non-lethal takedowns, only the first takedown will count towards your total. Any subsequent takedowns on the same target will not. Depending on your play style, you should receive this trophy about halfway through the game.

[top]
First Hack
Perform your first Hack successfully.

Aim at any secured computer or door lock, and press to bring up a keypad or password prompt. Press at this point to initiate the hacking minigame. The object is to create a path between your starting point at the I/O port, all the way through to the registry. See the Tips section above for additional strategies. After your first successful hack, you will receive this trophy.

[top]
Hax0r1!
Successfully hack 50 devices within the same playthrough.

Aim at any secured computer or door lock, and press to bring up a keypad or password prompt. Press at this point to initiate the hacking minigame. The object is to create a path between your starting point at the I/O port, all the way through to the registry. See the Tips section above for additional strategies. After your fiftieth successful hack, you will receive this trophy. Depending on your play style, you will receive this trophy about a third of the way through the game.

[top]
Transhumanist
Fully upgrade your first augmentation of choice

Once you start earning Praxis points, either through experience or purchase at a LIMB clinic, you will be able to start working towards this trophy. By purchasing every available upgrade for a particular augmentation, you will earn this trophy. Note that augmentations that only have one level, such as the Social Enhancer, Smart Vision, Reflex Booster, or Icarus Landing System, will not count towards this trophy. Considering how valuable Praxis points are, choose a tree that you will actually use during the game, the obvious choice being of course the Cloaking System.

[top]
Consciousness is Over-Rated
Knock out 100 enemies in a single playthrough.

Using non-lethal takedowns, tranquilizer rounds, PEPS fire, gas grenades, or even just throwing heavy objects at people, knock out 100 enemies before the end of the game. Just like with the other trophies, civilians will not count towards this total, so don't go punch happy on the streets of Detroit. If you perform non-lethal takedowns, only the first takedown will count towards your total. Any subsequent takedowns on the same target will not. Depending on your play style, you should receive this trophy about halfway through the game.

[top]
Up the Ante!
Upgrade your first weapon of choice.

Find or purchase a weapon upgrade, highlight it in your inventory and press to bring up a menu. Choose Combine, and then highlight any of the valid weapons you have in your inventory to add that modification to your weapon. Not all upgrades are compatible with every weapon though, so check it's Examine description before purchasing anything to be certain.

[top]
Trooper
Complete Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

Simply complete the game on any difficulty and you will receive this trophy. This trophy stacks with the Legend trophy if you are playing on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty, and attempting to get all trophies in a single run.

[top]
Legend
Complete Deus Ex: Human Revolution at its hardest setting without ever changing the difficulty.

Start a New Game, selecting Give Me Deus Ex difficulty, then do not change the difficulty throughout the entire game. For best results, adopt a stealthy approach, so as to minimize combat as much as possible. On Give Me Deus Ex difficulty, one shot kills are not uncommon, and enemies will flank you with deadly efficiency. This trophy stacks with the Trooper trophy if you are playing on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty, and attempting to get all trophies in a single run.

See the tips section for additional strategies.

[top]
Deus Ex Machina
Experience all the different endings that Deus Ex: Human Revolution has to offer.

In Panchaea, while progressing towards the end of the game, you will receive optional objectives to speak to David Sarif and William Taggart. Make sure to speak to each person before you fight the final boss. Taggart is on the 2nd floor on the ring section. You'll find him at the very north part of the map in the center, north of the long pipeline. Sarif is on floor B4 of the ring section, in the southeast corner of the map. After speaking to both of them, make your way to the boss fight.

After the boss battle is over, you will be given the choice of pressing one of three buttons, or going through a door and down a hallway to press a fourth button. Once you have heard the explanation of what each button choice means, you will regain control of yourself. Save the game, then press one of the four buttons. After you have watched the ending, you can skip the credits and return to the main menu. Load the saved game from the main menu, and press one of the remaining buttons. Repeat this process until you have seen all four endings, and you will earn the trophy.

[top]
Pacifist
Complete Deus Ex: Human Revolution without anyone dying by your hand. (Boss fights don't count.)

Missable. In concept, this trophy is simple: don't kill anyone. Starting at the very beginning of the game with the attack on Sarif Industries, all the way through to the end of the game, do not take a life in any way, shape or form. What may be less obvious is that you cannot take a life indirectly either. Once you have incapacitated an enemy, make sure that they do not fall to their death from heights, drown in water, or die from some other environmental hazard. As Gauss points out, this also includes incapacitated enemies that are killed by other enemies grenades. Essentially once an enemy is incapacitated, whatever happens to him is counted against you.

Also, you cannot program turrets or robots to attack enemies, as any deaths that are caused by a turret/robot under your control will count against you. Destroying turret or robot will not count as a kill however, so they can be eliminated without worry. Though destroying a camera will not count as a kill, it will trigger an alarm which will affect your Foxiest of the Hounds trophy.

Obviously the four bosses that you fight are special cases. Since you are forced to kill them, they do not disqualify you from the trophy.

NOTE: For the most part, after an enemy is incapacitated, you can tell if an enemy is living or dead by the icon that appears on the prompt when you aim at their body. It will show Zzz if the enemy is unconscious, or a skull if the enemy is dead. This display is glitchy however, particularly among some of the Derelict Row Ballers, so another way of being sure is by the Merciful Soul bonus experience that you receive when you knock them out. I can personally verify that I experienced this glitch where it appeared as though an enemy was dead, and yet I still received the trophy once the game was completed. Experiences may vary, so be careful.

[top]
Foxiest of the Hounds
Complete Deus Ex: Human Revolution without setting off any alarms.

Missable. This is a challenging trophy, but much less difficult than it seems at first glance. For the purposes of this trophy, all that matters is a triggered alarm. Meaning that Suspicious, Alarmed or Hostile enemy states do not matter as long as you can subdue or kill any alerted enemies before they activate an alarm panel, pictured below. Alarm panels will also be an absolute visual indicator of whether or not you've triggered an alarm.

You can be seen, you can even initiate a firefight, and still get the trophy as long as no alarms are activated. So if you see any enemies turn and run, make them a priority target over those who are staying in cover or returning fire, and make sure they don't reach an alarm panel. You can also hack alarm panels to disable them, preventing them from being activated. Turrets or robots in a Hostile state will not cause an alarm.

Other things that can trigger an alarm are:
  • Running out of time while hacking a door or computer
  • Staying in the sight of a security camera for an extended period, causing it to go from Suspicious to Hostile status.
  • Security cameras spotting unconscious or dead enemies
  • Destroying a security camera
  • Tripping a laser barrier

There are several places in the story where alarms are triggered automatically as part of the plot, however these will not affect the trophy:
  • Sarif Manufacturing Plant - Decontamination room after your first hack
  • Tai Yong Medical - Ambush in Zhao's penthouse
  • Tai Yong Medical - Hangar patrolled by box guards at end of mission
  • Picus - Ambush after speaking with Eliza Cassan in room 404
  • Picus - Alarm caused by activating the Funicular call button
  • Hengsha 2 - Ambush in the construction site after crash

Also, most of the side quests do not have alarms at all, meaning that whatever you do on the mission will not affect your progress whatsoever. However, I would advise to err on the side of safety and treat every encounter as though it could result in an alarm.

If you do trigger an alarm, you can reload a previous save from before the alarm was triggered and still get the trophy, so rotate your save slots and make sure to save regularly so you can maintain your progress.

The easiest way to keep track of your success or failure on your progress towards this trophy, is earning the Smooth Operator bonus on every mission objective that it is possible to earn it on. This bonus is literally for getting through a main story objective without triggering an alarm, so it is an easy validation that you've completed that portion of the game properly. For best results, while on a mission make sure that you make a new save each time you receive the Smooth Operator bonus, so that if you make an error on the next leg of the mission, you'll always have a restore point to start again if necessary. Unfortunately not every objective yields this bonus, so this is not a perfect indicator, but it will reassure you if you have any doubt about whether or not you'd triggered an alarm in a section of the game.

Doctorate
Read all 29 unique XP books within a single playthrough.

Missable. And easily missable at that. Scattered throughout the game are 29 books written by Hugh Darrow, the father of modern cybernetics. They look like normal eBooks, but they give a Scholar bonus of 200xp for each one you read! Unfortunately if you lose track of your total, there is no obvious in-game counter for the books you've collected, but you can go through your Media Log and sift through your list to count them. In your menu, navigate to your Media Log and press to bring up eBooks instead of emails.

NOTE: You must purchase the Icarus Landing System augmentation by the time you reach Tai Yong Medical or you will miss this trophy. Before the end of Omega Ranch you will need Capture 5 or an Automated Unlocking Device to access the final eBook.

Gun Nut
Fully upgrade one of your weapons.

To earn this trophy, you have to completely upgrade one of your weapons. Not every upgrade is compatible with a particular weapon, so consult the chart below for the number of upgrades necessary for each weapon. Upgrades such as a Silencer or Laser Sight are not necessary to complete the upgrade path for a weapon. Also, since the PEPS and Stun Gun are not compatible with any upgrades, they are irrelevant for the purpose of this trophy.

10mm Pistol - 4x Capacity, 4x Damage, 4x Reload, 4x Rate of Fire, Armor Piercing System
Combat Rifle - 4x Capacity, 3x Damage, 3x Rate of Fire, 4x Reload, Target Seeking System

Tranquilizer Rifle - 3x Reload, Target Leading Software (Recommended choice for this trophy)

[top]
Ghost
You made it through an entire hostile area without so much as a squeak.

This trophy's requirements correspond to the Ghost experience bonus that you receive for completing a mission objective without being seen by any enemies, or any alarms being raised. Being seen by a turret or camera doesn't count, as long as you aren't in their field of vision long enough to trigger an alarm. You can still incapacitate or kill enemies, and they can go into an alarmed state from noise and you'll still receive this trophy, as long as you aren't seen. Luckily, you only have to complete one objective while completely unseen, so you will have many opportunities to earn this trophy over the course of your Foxiest of Hounds trophy playthrough. The easiest place to get this is the very first mission you go on in the game, to the Sarif Manufacturing Plant.

The Bull
You defeated Lawrence Barrett, elite member of a secret mercenary hit squad.

This trophy is story related, and cannot be missed. With the proper preparation, this boss fight can be made significantly easier. Before going into this fight, make sure to have a stockpile of five or six fragmentation mines, and a couple of EMP grenades.

Barrett is a heavily armored enemy with a highly damaging chain gun, and many, many frag grenades, so it is best not to engage him toe to toe. As with the rest of Deus Ex, there are many ways to approach this boss fight, but this method allows for a relatively brief fight. Barret will tend to wander the central section and not venture into the corridors around the outside edges unless he is in close range and following you around cover. Use your cloak to move between cover when he is close by, and don't bother crouching to move until you are well out of his range. He is very slow, and in most cases he will still lose his fix on you despite the noise of your running. Be warned though, when he doesn't know your position Barret will lob grenades indiscriminately, and there are several explosive barrels in this area.

When you've found yourself a comfortable position, lob an EMP grenade at his feet. When it goes off, he will be disabled for a few seconds. Use this time to lob two frag mines at his feet. The first will likely arm in time to be set off by the movement of the second, causing both to detonate immediately, otherwise you'll have to wait for him to start moving again for them to go off. The explosion will cause him to be stunned again for a few seconds, allowing you to either follow up with some more mines or finish him off with gunfire to the head. Even on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty, five or six mines and some gunfire should be enough to finish him off, earning you the trophy.

[top]
The Mantis
You defeated Yelena Fedorova, elite member of a secret mercenary hit squad.

This trophy is story related, and cannot be missed. Defeating Fedorova uses essentially the same strategy as you used while fighting Barrett, with the added wrinkle that Fedorova will spend most of the combat cloaked. She apparently possesses a far more efficient cloaking system than you do, meaning that the only time you can count on her to be visible is right before she attacks. The confined spaces of the room make this a deadly combination, likely resulting in close quarters combat. You can use this to your advantage however, if you plan ahead. Make sure to buy or create a few EMP mines, as well as some fragmentation mines. About four of each will be sufficient. Again, you should be carrying a combat rifle or heavy rifle with a few power-ups, even if you're on a non-lethal run. The space it takes up in your inventory will be more than offset by the extra damage upgrades or a silencer you can pre-load it with, rather than the vanilla guns that you might pick up while on site.

Find yourself a stretch of the circular room that you like and plant the EMP mines at a discrete distance in both directions. Obviously, you do not want to be too close when she sets them off, and being too far away or planting too many may prevent you from taking advantage of her disabled state. Just as with Barrett, follow up your EMP mines with a few frag mines. If she survives, follow up with more mines or gunfire. Alternately, close range application of the Typhoon system will have good results, but this may expose you to counterattack so use your discretion.

Tip from XdeathsentenceX, you can see her while she is cloaked if you use the Smart Vision enhancement. If you don't have this augmentation, and for some reason you find yourself in a straight up gunfight with Fedorova, remember that the entire room has a thin layer of water along the floor that you can use to identify her exact position. That plus the slight lensing effect of the cloak itself should provide you a target to aim at with whatever weapons or grenades you have left.As long as you're properly prepared and take your time with the fight, you should be able to defeat her in short order, even on Give Me Deus Ex difficulty. The trophy will pop during the cinematic following the fight.

[top]
The Snake
You defeated Jaron Namir, Leader of Belltower's Elite Special Operations Unit.

This trophy is story related, and cannot be missed. If you have avoided replacing your chip at the LIMB clinic in Hengsha, this is an incredibly easy fight. Literally, all you have to do is use a takedown. Thanks to PowerPyx for demonstrating this strategy in his video below.

Even without using this method, this will be a brief fight. Using EMP grenades or mines are ineffective this time, so you can't rely on them. Bring a half dozen frag mines though, and you'll be set. Right after the cinematic, Namir will be directly ahead of you. His first action will be to kick a gun up into his hands, then cloak and start hunting you. Take the moment while he's visible to run forward while strafing left through the opening in the wall, throwing a mine straight at him before you are in cover. While you wait for the first mine to go off, toss one straight ahead of you into the empty hallway so that it lands on the other side of the wall from Namir. At some point Namir will leap over the wall and land exactly where you've thrown your mine, so you'll be ready for him. Try to keep your distance from both mines, staying near the hole in the wall. When the first mine goes off, he will be stunned. You'll barely be able to make out silhouette due to the cloak, but its enough to get a fix on him and toss a couple more mines. If all goes well, the fight will be over in about thirty seconds. The alternate strategy video displays this tactic, though not with disabled augs (This had been my original strategy, since I was unaware of the "one punch method").

The End
You defeated Zhao Yun Ru and destroyed the Hyron Project.

This trophy is story related, and cannot be missed. Another easy boss battle with the right preparation. This time, all you need is a laser rifle. Because the laser rifle will be able to penetrate her shield directly, you can skip a significant amount of hassle that it would take to complete multiple hacks to disable it, all the while being hit by turret fire. As soon as the fight starts, creep up to some cover and fire continuously at Zhao. You can pick up a laser rifle in Tong's office in the Harvester hideout, or in a storage lockup in Omega Ranch just southwest of the area you upload the virus at. It takes up a 6x2 block of your inventory, so it couldn't hurt to invest in some inventory upgrades as well.

You found all the hidden story items in Megan's office. Point and Click much?

Missable. Megan's office is the very first room in the game. Right after the opening cinematic ends and you have control, perform the following six actions by aiming at the object and pressing :
  • Read all four emails on Megan's computer.
  • Pick up the Patient X pad on the couch.
  • Look at the Picadilly Daily Standard newspaper on the desk.

Unforeseen Consequence
You convinced Zeke Sanders to let his hostage go.

Missable. At the end of the Sarif Manufacturing Plant you will confront Zeke Sanders, the leader of the Purity First group infiltrating the plant. He will have the foreman Josie Thorpe as a hostage, and only you can talk him down. After the cinematic, choose "Try to free Josie" from the options presented.

You are prompted for three responses while talking to Sanders. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Humble, Reason, and Empathize will have varying effectiveness depending on which answers Sanders gives, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

The Desk Job
You convinced Wayne Haas to let you into the morgue.

Missable. In the lobby of the Detroit Police Department, you'll run into your old friend Wayne Haas, who is now the Desk Sargent. By steering the conversation correctly, you can convince him to allow you free access to the police station, and considering that key portions of Mission 5 "Investigating the Suicide Terrorist", Side Quest 4 "Motherly Ties", and Side Quest 5 "Cloak & Daggers" have components that require access to key areas of the police station, this will make your life much easier.

You are prompted for four responses while talking to Haas. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Absolve, Plead, and Crush will have varying effectiveness depending on which answers Haas gives, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

Yes Boss
You had an argument with your boss, David Sarif, and won.

Missable. Right before Sarif sends you to China, you'll get a message from Prichard to meet him in your office. Either before or after meeting with Sarif initially, go to see Pritchard and listen to what he has to say. Afterward, go to speak to Sarif and confront him with the information.

You are prompted for four responses while talking to Sarif. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Placate, Refocus and Defend will have varying effectiveness depending on which statement Sarif makes, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

Darker Shades
You convinced a fast-talking bartender to let you see Tong Si Hung.

Missable. In China, while on the mission "Hunting the Hacker", you will have to travel to The Hive to try and see Tong Si Hung. To make getting in easier, find a Hive Membership Card on the third floor of the Hung Hua Hotel, in the first room on the easternmost room. Once you've gained access to The Hive, go to the second floor in the vip lounge and speak to the "manager", a scarred Chinese man with an out of date cybernetic arm. While he does not respond well to gwailo, he certainly does listen to reason. Convince him to let you meet with Tong and you'll gain access to the basement, and the trophy.

You are prompted for three responses while talking to the Manager. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Insist, Pinpoint and Advise will have varying effectiveness depending on which statement he makes, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

See the special note on Social Trophies in the Tips section for additional details about this trophy type, then consult the video walkthrough below for the correct responses to each of his answers.

The Throwdown
You convinced the smooth-talking politician Bill Taggart to tell the truth in public.

Missable. During the mission "Finding Isaias Sandoval", you will have the opportunity to confront Bill Taggart in the middle of his speech at the Convention Center. Your unwavering determination will cause him to crumble and give you what you want: A lead on Isaias, and a trophy!

You are prompted for four responses while talking to Taggart. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Discredit, Confront and Redirect will have varying effectiveness depending on which statement he makes, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

The Last Straw
You talked Doctor Isaias Sandoval out of suicide.

Missable. At the end of the mission "Finding Isaias Sandoval", you will finally catch up with the good doctor in the sewers of Detroit. During the conversation, you can convince him to choose life by selecting the responses based on his statements. He will give you the gun, and the trophy will pop. If you enjoy irony, after you get the trophy, you can pick up the gun off his desk and kill him with it.

You are prompted for three responses while talking to Sandoval. The first response will always be the same, but after that you must choose how to respond based on the many possible variations of his answers. The responses of Inspire, Empathize and Tough Love will have varying effectiveness depending on which statement Sandoval makes, resulting in a different affect on your Persuasion Level at each stage of the conversation.

The Final Countdown
You showed millionaire Hugh Darrow that his logic was flawed.

Missable. Early in your mission to Panchaea, you will confront Hugh Darrow and discuss his actions. This type Omega needs your wisdom to point out the unexpected repercussions that his vision will have. When prompted, select Extrapolate, Appeal, Extrapolate, Extrapolate. This will convince him to cooperate, and earn you the trophy.

Just like it says, the trophy will pop once the exceedingly long credits are completed and you've seen the extra snippet of plot at the end. For those who have played the original Deus Ex, they will realize that the mastermind behind the entire plot is none other than Bob Page, and regardless of what effects your actions have had, he still has another card to play. As an added bonus, you'll also hear a remixed version of the original Deus Ex theme, but it's still not as good as this version.

Hangar 18
You found and read the secret message. Now you know too much...

At the end of the mission in Singapore, after opening the roof for Malik, go out the door, down the stairs and turn left to what seems to be a dead end. In this small room, look to the left and you'll see a crate in the corner blocking a hole in the wall. Inside you'll find a level 5 computer to hack. Once you read the email on the computer, you will get the trophy. See the pictures below for the exact location:

Balls
Seems you like playing with balls, eh?

When you are able to explore Detroit, go to the basketball court between the two Downtown Apartment blocks to the west of the Police Station. If you can't find it, you'll have to go to this court at the end of Side Mission 3 "Lesser Evils" when you face P-Gee and Bee-K. You'll find a basketball on the ground in front of a bastketball hoop. Pick up the basketball with and throw with , trying to get the ball through the hoop. Because of Jensen's cybernetic arms, trying to score a basket from the top of the key is almost impossible, so try this instead. The easiest way to do this is to stand almost beneath the basket and hurl it almost straight up. If you don't quite get it in, adjust your aim down slightly until you do. Use the building behind it as a guide to judge the angle.
