[top]Tips & Strategies

  • Cane Style: The cane is what hurts enemies and bounces, so being too off-center can cancel a pogo or hurt Scrooge.
  • Hidden Treasures: Hidden gems and food can be anywhere, so be sure to jump into alcoves and areas that may seem to be barren.
  • Eye on the Ball: The boss battles are more about learning patterns than dexterity, so take the time to recognize their patterns of attack.
  • Size Matters: The bigger and shinier the gem, the more valuable.
  • No Pain or Gain: Defeating enemies doesn't gain you anything (sometimes maybe), so don't feel pressured like you have to fight every enemy.
Know Your Pick-ups!
  • Small Gem: $2,000
  • Big Gold Gem: $25,000
  • Big Red Gem: $150,000
  • Magic Coin: Gives Scrooge a slight speed boost and invulnerability for a few seconds
  • Ice Cream: Fills one heart of health
  • Cake: Refills all health

[top]Roadmap

  1. Beat the game on Easy/Medium: Take it through the game once to learn the levels and grab trophies. Don't forget to find the health containers! Don't buy anything in the Gallery until you've reached $10 million.
  2. Beat the game on Hard: Now that you've played the game, start a new game on Hard. You should be familiar enough with the game that it shouldn't be a problem.
  3. Beat the game on Extreme: Play on the hardest difficulty next, you should be good at the game by now. Good luck!
  4. Buy all the gallery: If you didn't yet, buy out all of the gallery.
  5. Clean-up: Wrap up with any trophies you might have missed.

Work Smarter Not Harder
Defeat Big Time Beagle using your noggin

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
The first fight in the game! This Beagle Boy thinks a helmet can stop a McDuck? Let's show this give him the old heave-ho!

So bouncing on his head doesn't work. Yet. Use your Pogo-Jump to bounce so you can avoid his thrown objects. After dodging, use the Cane Bat to launch the object up into the hanging safe. It'll drop on the Beagle Boy's head, stunning him and knocking off his helmet. Pogo-Jump on his head and bounce to the other side of the screen. Just repeat until he's defeated.

Superstitious Hocus Pocus
Collect the Coin of the Lost Realm

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
This trophy is earned after beating Transylvania.

The boss battle is against Magica De Spell. She will begin by conjuring a laser spell horizontally across the ground. She will also conjure up some rocks you can Pogo-Jump off them to remain off the ground. She will also send down columns of lasers. The areas will be marked, so be sure to get out of the way!

After a few spells, Magica will appear in the arena to gloat. Pogo-Jump her while she's laughing. Her next "attack" will be transforming into a group of mirrors. Bounce off the one with her face on it, but be careful not to break many others. After the mirror is broken, she will appear for another bounce on the noggin. Her next "phase" is transforming into a vulture. Just bounce on the vulture's head as it flies beneath you. Her final attack of the wave is a blast of three energy stars, which can easily be jumped to avoid.

The next few time will be the same, but the horizontal laser can go up to three lasers to avoid, and the vertical lasers grow in numbers. Nothing will be significantly harder, though, and Magica should be defeated soon after for the coin you seek.

Extravagant Housewares
Collect the Sceptre of the Incan King

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
This trophy is earned after beating The Amazon.

The boss battle is against a statue, specifically the head. The head will slide along the ground, then when it approaches the middle, rise up then slam down, then continue sliding. As it slide, Pogo Jump on it's head. You can jump on the head twice possibly before it returns to the body.

When it's on its body, the stage around you will begin to move. The floor may move, which means you have to get to the safe column on the floor before being smashed into the ceiling. The ceiling may also move, which is pretty much the same idea of moving to the nonmoving column before you get crushed. If the walls move, you need to jump on the sliding rows to reach the top.

After a few times of the room moving, the head will reappear. Repeat the previous process and the scepter is yours.

Where No Duck Has Gone Before
Collect the Green Cheese of Longevity

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
This trophy is earned after beating The Moon.

This boss fight is against a giant, rat mutant. The rat will run around on the ground, or jump to one of the ledges on the side of the arena, then go to the middle of the room. When it goes to the middle, Pogo-Jump his head.

After a few bops, the rat will glow green. He will teleport somewhere in the room, then dash to the side of the screen. He can appear anywhere, and when he does, make sure to jump over his dash. He's fast, so evading the dash must be done quickly. After a few dashes, he'll turn grey again so you can hit him some more. Repeat and that stinky cheese will be yours.

[top]
Any Crash You Can Walk Away From
Collect the Lost Crown of Ghengis Khan

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
This trophy is earned after beating The Himalayas.

Before you reach the crown, you need to fight a mini boss: Glomgold. He will fire Beagle Boys and bombs at you, so watch the shadows on the plane to see where either will land. If it's a Beagle, bounce on his head. If it's a bomb, whack it with your cane to send it sailing into Glomgold's plane. Repeat until victory.

Now for the real boss: the Snow Monster. It'll start by jumping up and down, advancing towards Scrooge. Run under it as it's in midair to the other side. After the monster has reached the opposite wall, it will punch it a lot, sending down blocks of ice on you. Run around the falling blocks. The last falling object is a rock. Depending on the rock's location, it could hit either the farther block of ice on the ceiling or the middle one. If it's farther from the monster, it will hit the middle, so you'll have to wait for it to jump to the middle before whacking the rock. After it's hit, Pogo-Jump its head while it's dazed.

The pattern will continue, but watch out for its jumps. It may jump straight up and shudder in the air. That's an attack, and when it comes sailing down, if you're on the ground, you'll take damage. Dash under its regular jumps. After a few whacks, the ice blocks on the ceiling's sides will break, so you'll only have the middle, so make sure it's jumped before hitting the fallen stone. After a couple good bumps to the head, the treasure will be yours.

Garbage Collector
Collect the Giant Diamond of Inner Earth

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
This trophy is earned after beating African Mines.

The boss battle here is against the King Terra Firmie. He'll begin by rolling at you, then unfurling. Pogo-Jump him while he's unfurled. That bopping makes him angry, and he'll charge up a rolling attack. He'll roll around the perimeter of the arena, so jump him when he comes by. Immediately after, he'll bounce into the background and sound a horn. If it's a blue horn, he'll summon a load of Terra Firmies to roll from the side of the screen at you. You can Pogo-Jump off them, but it can be tricky. If the horn is orange, some boulders will fall on you from above, so watch the shadows on the ground.

Once the horn attack has ceased, he will roll, the unfurl for a bopping again. He'll repeat the above attack pattern until he's downed.

Luck o' the Ducks
Get back what Magica stole

This trophy is story-related, therefore it cannot be missed
Before you get back the stolen property, you need to fight Drake Von Vladstone, aka Dracula Duck.

Dracula will start the fight summoning a bat. Use the bat to Pogo-Jump off so you're high enough to Pogo-Jump Dracula. After you hit him, he will teleport to the background, where Magica will use a spell on him. A gold spell turns Dracula giant. He'll try to chomp on you with his fangs and bill. Get between his fangs, under his bill, and duck to avoid damage. A red spell turns Dracula into a group of bats. They will form a giant shape at the top of the screen, with a short column of bats missing. Run under that column and wait, as the other bats will slam down around you. Repeat until the spell wears off. A green spell turns Dracula into a dragon, and he'll shoot fireballs at the ground. You can easily Pogo-Jump to evade.

After each spell wears off, Dracula will return to the main field and summon a bat you can use to hit him. After a few hits, he'll teleport higher, summoning two bats, and you need to bounce off of both to be able to damage him. After a few more hits, he will be defeated.

Next, you need to climb the level vertically to beat Magica and Glomgold to the dime, and after you've collected it, the trophy is yours.

The Duck Who Would Be King
Collect $10,000,000

This trophy isn't hard, just remember that it's cash on hand. Spent cash doesn't count for the trophy, it needs to be $10 million on you. If you try to collect everything and go for every jewel, this shouldn't be hard, just be sure not to buy things before getting the trophy.

Score to Settle
Scrooge doesn't take kindly to being swindled by statues

Before going to the boss in the temple, before climbing up a rope, you'll see a statue that faces you. Give him a few whacks for old time's sake and bathe in glorious gems.

Bless Me Bagpipes
Collect All the Heart Containers on Easy or Medium difficulty

Hidden away in every level is a large chest containing a special heart pick-up that grants you an extra heart of health. You can only find them all on Easy or Medium because they simply aren't all there on anything harder, replaced with treasures.
Amazon
  • In the temple, there will be rope to climb above spiny plants. Pogo-Jump off the plant into the wall on the right to go through and grab the chest.
Transylvania
  • Before descending down a chain, head right to see a dead end. It's not dead though! Hop through the wall for the heart.
African Mine
  • After the lads lower you down via elevator, head down to the way on the left and through the wall.
The Himalayas
  • After entering the underground on the far right, head through the wall on the far right.
The Moon
  • When you're almost at the final boss, there's an upper alcove with a treasure chest. Break the chest and bounce where it was to the left to go up and over into a hidden alcove with the heart.

Tougher than the Toughies
Beat game on Hard difficulty

See Smarter than the Smarties

Hard is available from the start, but you should probably get other trophies out of the way on Easy first.

[top]
Smarter than the Smarties
Beat game on Extreme difficulty

Extreme is quite extreme. If you lose all your lives, it's back to the start of the game for you. You also have to use Hard Pogo controls, which involves holding Down while you hold . The heart containers are still around in The Himalayas and Transylvania, so make sure to grab them first to increase your health to 5 hearts. Good luck!

Connoisseur of the Arts
Unlock all art in the Gallery

There's a lot of art in the gallery, but you need to buy it all!
NOTE: Starting a new game will reset your gallery progress, so if you actually want to see the art, then wait to earn this last
To buy the entirety of the gallery, you need many millions of dollars. I recommend earning The Duck Who Would Be King first so you have a good starting sum. You only start with character art available, but buying more character art opens up other arts, such as TV Show Art and Concept Art.

Look Ma, No Spats!
Enter either underground section of Amazon and climb up the other side using only the pogo jump

This trophy can be frustrating. You can enter either side of the underground (I prefer the right side), but you need to collect the chest underground before doing this, as you'll break it along the way, which triggers a cutscene.
In order to do this, you need to master a technique called the "short hop", which is basically releasing in midair of a pogo-jump. Doing so shortens your jump height, making it easier to duck under spiders and not hit the spiky ceiling parts. Just make sure you hold again while descending so you'll bounce again. It may take a few tries, but you should be able to get a hang of the short-hop after a while.

I demonstrate the trophy in the video below.

Get to the secret gyro area in the clouds

Whenever you have a 7 in the ten-thousands digit of your money, you have access to the bonus level. Just go to any level and instead of being inside the helicopter, Scrooge will hang from the bottom. You'll be dropped into the bonus level, where you can try to collect more gems.

It's A Duck Blur
Defeat 5 enemies under the effect of 1 magic coin

Magic Coins are slightly rare drops from treasure chests that turn Scrooge invincible for a short period of time, allowing him to run over hazards and kill enemies without having to do more than run.

That being said, you aren't very energized with the coin for long. There is a prime location for this trophy, however, in The Amazon. Very soon in the level, you'll reach a treasure chest, just right of the first underground entrance. Inside is a Magic Coin. Grab it and run to the right, killing the plants, bees, snake, and gorillas as you go. By the time the coins wears off, you'll have killed at least 5, if not more.

I demonstrate in the video below.

Healthy Appetite
Eat some of Mrs. Beakley's delicious treats

Mrs. Beakley is around in every level, but she is hidden. If you find her, she'll give you treats of cake and ice cream. You only need to find her in one of the five levels for the trophy.
Amazon
  • In the temple, there will be a rope just barely visible on the ceiling. Climb up, then run to the hole on the right and drop to find her.
Transylvania
  • After freeing the topmost Duck, head left and do the minecart segment. After finishing, you'll drop into a room where Mrs. Beakley is on the right.
African Mines
  • After the lads lower the elevator, head to the right to find her.
The Himalayas
  • Underground, head to the centerish area, where there's some stairs moade of ice blocks. Bounce off the stairs to the left and go all the way to the left. When you're all the way, jump and hold up to grab the rope hidden there and climb to the surface, where Mrs. Beakley is.
The Moon
  • Near the top of the spaceship, head down a path to the left with enemies. At the end of the hall you can see a rope just barely visible out of the ceiling. Grab it and climb to Mrs. Beakley.

Pogo A Go Go
Defeat 5 enemies in a row with pogo jump without touching the ground

This trophy is pretty much story-related
In the final level, Mt. Vesuvius, you will reach a path a lava only navigatable by bouncing off the heads of five enemies, so you will get this one at the end.
