What's the longest it took for a trophy to pop? I saw in the guide you mentioned it could be delayed for a couple of days. I've completed the Hard survival run to wave 15 twice in the past week. The first time it didn't even register in the game (probably didn't let the kill counter catch up enough or something) so I did it again on Monday. This time the stats page of the game registered it and it's showing that I reached wave 15 when I go to the crystal in the tavern, but the trophy still hasn't come up. I don't really want to spend 2 hours doing it again if there is still a chance the trophy will pop.

Be patient, and play a few different levels while you wait. There's no need to let the kill counter finish tallying the dead mobs, so if you need to redo it, just speed through as fast as possible.

I've heard that some trophies have unlocked days after fulfilling requirements. There just isn't a clear-cut time frame, unfortunately. Maybe give it another day or so and if it hasn't unlocked, you may have to try it again. With the gear that's available nowadays, that trophy isn't too bad.

If you want to bring in more characters than you have controllers for, you need to be sure to play online splitscreen
I'd like to add that you can reassign a controller so it's possible to play 4-player-split-screen with only one controller. The game doesn't check if the controller is available to it won't stop the game once you reassigned the controller to another port. Doing this you'll probably want to uncheck "infinite build time" or simply only play on insane.

This only works in an online lobby. Local lobbies will pause the screen of Player 1.

Nope. It works offline, I haven't played online at all yet.

From the main menu I started with four characters using two controllers. I kept the first controller for the first character (my main character) all the time and used the second controller to sign up player two, three and four on the controller slots two, three and four. I finished a normal match on the first map on insane with all four players and didn't experience any pause screens or other problems.
Maybe it only works when you add the players right from the main menu, maybe it's patch related (I have the latest update, just got the game few days ago), anyway I can confirm that it works offline (I don't like playing online and probably won't will for this game ).

So, which is it? One controller or two?

My original comment was to your "using one controller" tip, which has never worked for me. However, if you use 2 controllers (2nd controller being players 2-4), then it will work. Seems like we had a little confusion.

Honestly, there's no benefit to staying offline if you are going to switch controller numbers to bring in extra characters for 2-4. Like Helyx said, it'll pause the screen. Even with two controllers, the first one being your main, I would find it annoying, but I guess that's personal preference.

The only reason I can see you wanting to stay offline is if you have no Internet and can't start an online match. And, as Helyx said, your original statement (i.e., you can do it with one controller) is incorrect, where as the second statement (i.e., you can do it with two controllers) is correct.

Bottom line, though, is it's a moot point.

Sorry my mistake, I didn't expect there'd be a difference if you used one controller or two to be honest. Anyway I think many people will have access to two controllers (by having a second at home or borrowing one from a friend) but not easily to four so it might be worth mentioning.

There are reasons I want to stay offline. I had a lot of bad experience with online play in games where I had to play online to obtain certain trophies, for the most time Little Big planet I & II and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. The annoyances range from sudden 'host has left the game', 'connection lost', 'the host has kicked you' to waiting several minutes for everyone to get ready to start a match (while I can play offline with no delay or fear for sudden interruptions or cancelations due to several reasons). I also prefer to either play my style or when cooperating doing that split screen and not with random anonymous people on the internet. I don't want to start a debate here and I don't want to elaborate further, so let's just leave it at that. Bottom line is there are people who care if trophies can be achieved offline and for me it can be a difference of purchasing a game or not when it contains tedious or - for me - impossible to obtain trophies.

EDIT: reply to post #22 since I don't want to spam this discussion with off topic posts:
Easy solution -- start a private online lobby. That way you can invite who you want and kick who you want. Since it's private, randoms can't join.
This is true provided you know people who have that game and enjoy playing it online. I have five 'real life' friends with a PS3, two of them playing online regularly but mostly racing games. None of them have Dungeon Defenders though I could of course suggest it to them because it's a very enjoyable game. However bringing four of us together requires at first to convince them to purchase it, wait till all of them are skilled enough and have decent characters for the maps and challenges that are best played with four players and finally to arrange appointments to come together to play. Still then there'll be the issue of proper communication so all of us should get a headset and a software to be able to talk to each other in order to make sure that everybody is doing what he's supposed to do. None of that really tempts me very much and it also means a lot of time till I'll be able to get some trophies because I'm dependent on others.

Playing at home split screen means only I need to have the game and that there's direct communication which is always easier. It's also much more fun for me that just being connected over the internet. It has made sure that I already got the team player trophy because I could get it 'solo' using two controllers and the second to control three players. Some of the tougher challenges I'll do with friends and I'll have two wait until I get two more controller from them for this occasion but once that has happened it'll be a far less tedious job than doing that online with them and I'll have the necessary characters prepared (and I'm not bound to play with those that have a PS3, I could invite a friend and let my brother and my wife take control of the remaining two characters). I'm training a character of each class plus three additional huntresses which should server to win each map and challenge on insane. One run on the ramparts on hard with four players raised three of my huntresses from level 0 to level 19 while the squire could handle all the monsters by itself so I don't expect there'll be too much grinding necessary and as fun as the game is I don't bother with a bit of grinding anyway.

Having written this all I want to say is that I don't like online play and I'm always grateful when games allow to obtain the platinum trophy 100% offline, and when that is more difficult than doing it online I'm always grateful for good tips how to do it offline. I don't expect you to share my opinion and as stated before I didn't want to start a debate so just understand that everybody has different preferences and there are people who prefer offline play for their one reasons and are happy for tips how to perform certain tasks offline.

Note: You don't need to reply to this and I'll not say anything further on this topic because I've said everything there is to say for me. Anyway I thank you for your tip.

Yes, I agree, Online trophies definitely put alot of games on the backburner for me, hell I got BF3 for free and I have put a grand total of 0 hours in it, why? online. Dungeon Defenders was a nightmare to platinum because of the useless people who sabotage your game just to be dicks. I had a few times on insane where people would sell all of their defenses right at the end or jack the good weapons and leave. It sucks.
