[top]Tips & Strategies

  • All trophies are in XMB order
  • Zion National Park Snow Globe is located in the General Store, near the cash register, and behind the counter, on the bottom shelf. You will go to this location in the normal progress of the story during the Tourist Trap mission.
  • After installing the DLC, just load up your game and much like Fallout 3 you will receive a radio transmission, which will give you a new mission and a marker on your map. Head to the marker to start the DLC.
  • The DLC will be available as a sidequest to your normal game missions. This being said, I recommend you wait until you are near the end of your game before taking on the DLC, as the enemies in the DLC are fairly strong. Your difficulty level doesn't matter for the DLC BUT if you are on your Hardcore run from the game, you will be on Hardcore on the DLC and if you change it, this will mess up your Hardcore run on your game. If you choose to do it on your HC playthrough make a second save, so you can turn off HC and enjoy the DLC while not messing up your HC run.
  • The area consists mostly of White Legs Tribals that attack you. They are pretty easy if you are already powered up, BUT watch out for the snipers, they have Anti-Material Rifles. That being said, you can repair a perfect condition Anti Material Rifle after killing enough of them.
  • You must also keep out a watchful eye for the White Legs that attack with the Mantis Gauntlet. If you get hit with this you will be poisoned and you will need the Datura Antivenom to cure yourself.
  • As the DLC takes place in Zion National Park, you will encounter the second most deadly mutated animal from Fallout 3. The hostile Yao Gaui This is a mutated Grizzly Bear for those that aren't familiar from the last game. When you encounter these make sure you use high powered weapons and attack from a distance to try and take them out before they get too close.
  • The cumulative trophies from the game, such as kills, healing, and hacks/lockpicks all count during the DLC towards the regular game trophies.
  • The DLC will raise your level cap up to 40. There is no trophy for maxing out, BUT you will get new skill points on each level and have access to 2 extra perks at levels 36,38 and 40 to make your character stronger
  • The DLC will add two new VERY useful perks at the leveling up screen. Keep an eye out for these two perks as they will most likely help you on future missions and the main game as well:
    • Tribal Wisdom: Limbs take 50% less damage from animals, Mutated Animals and Mutated Insects. You gain +25% resistance to poison and can eat Mutated Insects in Sneak Mode.
    • Sneering Imperialist: Against Raider, Junkies and Tribals you gain +15% damage, and a bonus to hit in V.A.T.S.

  • Much like the last DLC you will receive 3 different companions during the story to help you on your way. I don't want to spoil anything for you, but the Final Companion is the best Companion from either DLC's or the Main Game IMO
  • There are some nice weapons you can bring back with you from the DLC such as the:
    • She's Embrace: For this you will need to complete the Rite of Passage optional mission. This Yao Guai Gauntlet isn't overly powerful, but running around slapping peeps with a giant paw is pretty damn
    • Salt-Upon-Wounds' Power Fist: You can grab this either off of him or in the chest at the end of the DLC.
    • A Light Shining in Darkness: This will be in the chest at the end of the DLC...a gift from the Burned Man for your help.

May My Hand Forget Its Skill
Evacuated Zion.

This is a story based mission.

This is the Trophy that you will be rewarded with for choosing the "Help the Sorrows Flee Zion" option when you are given the choice by Daniel at the end of the Gathering Storms mission. Once you have completed all the missions you will receive a well earned . Now you can't get these two ending trophies on the same playthrough. You will need to make a save earlier at the End of Gathering Storms as I pointed out on the mission. Once you have completed one ending, load up the manual save and complete the other to save time from a second playthrough

Optional: Prisoners of War
  1. Release the Sorrows Prisoners at Ranger Station Osprey.
** Ranger Station Osprey, is up the hill from the Ranger Station you acquired the Medical Kit from earlier. Head to the top of the road and take out the White Legs here. If your Lockpick Skill is high enough you can unlock the door and free the prisoners. If not, the key is in a toolbox inside the Tower above them.

Optional: Sanctity of the Dead
  1. Kill White Legs at the Sorrows Burial Ground.
** For this you need to head over to the Fishing Lodge. Once there head to the river by heading down the right side path next to the lodge and across the water to the Burial grounds. Kill the small band of White Legs here to finish this mission.
  2. Talk to the Sorrows at the Sorrows Burial Ground.
** Now I have to be honest on this one, I never saw ANY Sorrows Tribe here to talk to, once I killed all the White Legs, it said I completed this and the mission was complete.

Optional: Retake the Bridge
  1. Defeat the White Legs holding the Bridge at Pine Creek.
** Now head to the Bridge at Pine Creek and you will find 4-5 White Legs waiting there. These ones are smart though, there are melee white legs with the Mantis Gauntlet to poison you, and Anti-Material Snipers to support them. I recommend taking out the Snipers first, then the melee, then use the Dantura Antivirus.

Flight From Zion
  1. Fight to Pine Creek Tunnel.
** After you finish off the White Legs on the bridge simply continue down the same road taking out all the White Legs to the end of the area.
  2. Kill Salt-On-Wounds.
** Once you reach the end, you will need to kill Salt-Upon-Wounds. Don't be intimidated, unlike Caesar's general, he is quite easy and should fall with minimal effort on your part. Now talk to Daniel and then after the scene use the Detonator the game automatically equips you with to blow up the entrance and the DLC will end and you will receive your trophy.

In a Foreign Land
Scouted the Zion Valley for signs of the White Legs.

This is a story based mission.

You will receive the beginning of these quests after your first meeting with Daniel on the Narrows when you deliver the items he needs from the first set of missions. After completing this group of missions you will unlock this trophy.

The Advance Scouts
  1. Deal with the White Legs Camp at Bighorn Bluff.
** After speaking with Daniel, Walking Cloud will talk to you and you can add her as a Companion. She does her job, I would encourage you to take her. Now head straight down the map following the river until you get to Bighorn Bluff. You have the option of stealing their sacred Totem to make them less hostile, but when I got near the totem they saw me and charged. Cloud will warn you about how tough they are, but if you are at a high level with good weapons it will be no problem. Kill them all at the Bluff at both camps.

Treacherous Road
  1. Deal with the White Legs traps at Old Rockville Bridge.
** Now head to the Old Rockville bridge and you will find several Bear Traps. You will need to either Disarm them all or trigger them. Deal with all of the traps on your map, and kill the White Legs in the area to complete the mission.

River Monsters
  1. Deal with the Yao Guai at Pine Creek.
** Now you get to go on a Yao Guai extermination quest. Head down Pine Creek Bridge, and at the end of it, turn left and head across the path until you reach Yao Guai Cave. Once inside, head to the marker points and you will see a small light blue spot on the ground. Plant some explosive at the prompt and move to the next point. Once all three are planted, leave the cave and use the Detonator to blow it up to complete the mission.

The Grand Staircase
  1. Find map of Grand Staircase region.
** For this you will need to head across the bridge leading towards the Ranger Station. Once you cross the bridge, turn left and follow the path until you are near Patriarchs' Campground. Turn to your right and you will see a path leading up the hill. This will take you to the marker which is at Morning Glory Cave. Head into the main room of the cave, and head to the left. Kill the Giant Spore Plants and head up the rock walkway to the door on the upper left. Be careful on the piles of twigs on the ground as there are Shotgun Traps in them. Now head through the door and into the small refuge area that has been setup and find the map and complete the mission. You can also use the Computer to read about the final days of a lonely old man.

Gathering Storms
  1. Return to Daniel at the Narrows.
** After acquiring the map, head back to the Narrows and look for Daniel. Once you find him, before you talk to him MAKE A SEPERATE MANUAL SAVE POINT! Talking to him will begin the branch of events leading to the end of the game.
  2. Tell Daniel to "Fight" or "Flee!".
** Once you talk to him make your decision and the trophy will unlock afterwards.

O Daughter of Babylon
Crushed the White Legs.

This is a story based mission.

This is the Trophy that you will be rewarded with for choosing the "Stay and Fight the White Legs" option when you are given the choice by Daniel at the end of the Gathering Storms mission. Once you have completed all the missions you will receive a well earned Now you can't get these two ending trophies on the same playthrough. You will need to make a save earlier at the End of Gathering Storms as I pointed out on the mission. Once you have completed one ending, load up the manual save and complete the other to save time from a second playthrough.

Crush the White Legs
  1. Release the Sorrows Prisoners at Ranger Station Osprey.
** Once you have chosen the FIGHT! option, Daniel, will leave you alone, after a lecture of course, and you will be transported to the mouth of the Narrow entrance. Here you will get a new partner. Follow the river until you need to branch off to the left, then branch off to the right to get to the river passage of the White Legs. Head down the canyon killing all the White Legs you see with the help of the 2 friendly tribes and at the end you will encounter Salt-Upon Wounds. You will need to make a decision on his life. I chose to kill him as the trophy said to crush them. I'm not sure if your choice here effects the trophy, and I would assume it doesn't but if someone finds out differently let me know.

When We Remembered Zion
Arrived at Zion.

This is a Story Based Trophy

This will be the first trophy you get in the game. Nice and easy to unlock. There are some steps you must take to get this trophy, however, and I shall list them below:
  • When you load up the game with the DLC installed, you will receive a radio broadcast informing you that the Happy Caravan Trading Company is looking for expedition members. Once you receive this message you will receive a new marker for the Northern Passage at the top of your map. This is the area that will start the DLC.
  • Inside the cave, you will see a large group of people. Talk to the guy on the far right in the Vault 22 overalls and you will find he has several Speech/Skill challenges you can win for several EXP points. If you are skilled enough and can get him to crack you can even get him to carry some of your gear. (He won't be around long enough to steal it, so you are safe doing this)
  • Once you are done you can talk to some of the other people and finally speak to Jed Masterson. He will tell you all about the mission. Now to start the mission, you will need to reduce your maximum weight to 75 pounds. If you have the Strong Back perk or Survival 50 you can talk him up to 100 pounds, but that's the most. Use either your minion in the Vault 22 overalsl, or the crate provided to reduce your weight, then talk to Jed to proceed.
  • Now sit back and watch the intro, at the end of the intro, the trophy will unlock and the DLC will start.

Restore Our Fortunes
Resupplied Daniel and the Sorrows.

This is a story based mission.

After meeting Joshua in the cave you will be given this group of missions. Completing these missions will unlock this lovely trophy.

Roadside Attraction
  1. Find the Compass in the Scout Bus Ruins.
** From the camp, head back to the main road, and follow this road to Old Rockville Bridge. Instead of crossing the bridge, drop down into the water and head back towards the Scout Bus. Inside the bus you will find the Broken Compass. If your repair skill is high enough you can just repair the Compass, if not you will need the necessary parts to repair it. If this happens check inside the bus near the front for the parts, then repair the Compass to complete the mission.

Gone Fishin'
  1. Find the Walkie Talkies in the Zion Fishing Lodge.
** From the Scout Bus, head back to the Bridge, then head up the bank out of the water and follow the road staying to the right until you get to the Fishing Lodge. Behind the main desk in a locked cabinet are the Walkie Talkies. If your Lockpick Skill isn't high enough to open the cabinet, the key is in the small storeroom to the left of the main desk.

Tourist Trap
  1. Find 5 L'il Scout Lunchboxes in the General Store.
** From the Fishing Lodge, head back down the road the way you came until a dirt road branches off to the right. Follow this road across another bridge until you get to the General Store In here, make sure you grab the Zion National Park Snow Globe from behind the counter for an instant 2,000 caps. Then check everywhere, including inside milk crates for the first 3 lunchboxes, then grab the last 2 from the backroom. You might also want to check the computer files to find out more info about the wrecked Bus.
  2. Find a Full Medical Supply Kit in the Zion Ranger Station.
** Now head up the small hill to the next building and in the back room you will find the Medical Supply Kit. Now if your skills are high enough you can fix this kit without looking around. If not you will need either a Scotch, Whisky and Vodka to resterilize the kit OR a Turpentine and Duct Tape to replace the missing parts of the Kit. All of which are located inside the station. Once you have fixed the kit you will finish the mission.

Deliverer of Sorrows
  1. Take items to Daniel in the Narrows.
** This is the easy part. Head back down the road from the Ranger Station to the Bridge and drop into the water. Now head North in the river until the water area opens up to a small pool. The River branches off to the right, but you want to head North up the River and into the Narrows. At the beginning of the Narrows you will encounter Walking Cloud. gather some information from her about Daniel and the Sorrows, then head over to the small tents to the left and find Daniel. Once you give him the supplies the mission set ends and the trophy unlocks.
