[top]Tips & Strategies

UD's Tips and Strats
  • There are three difficulties you can choose from, I recommend using the easiest difficulty as there are no trophies related to difficulty of the game. The three difficulties are Adventurer (Easy), Survivor (Normal) and Warrior (Hard).
  • You do not need an online passport for the online anymore.
  • Uplay features can help if you have enough points.
  • Make sure to refill your ammo between outposts and missions. Also loot boxes and quick sell them at the vending machines for some cash.
  • Pick flowers if you know you need to craft syringes. They save life better than manual heal.
  • Save when hunting collectibles as a possible death will reset the collectibles and you will need to get them all over again.
  • Use your cameras often. It will save you countless of times and will help you make a plan of action.
  • Fast travel when possible.
  • Craft at least most of the pouches as they will greatly help you later on in the game.
  • Selling skins is okay to make money.
  • You cannot shoot your friends or use guns in that area.
  • During Co-op missions frequently heal and get ammo
  • Make sure to stay healed up as a predator can kill you very quickly
  • Do not piss off cassowaries
  • Do you know the definition of insanity?
  • There are different types of enemies. The worst ones in my opinion are heavy duty enemies as they take a while to kill
  • The perfect 4 weapons to carry are a Light Machine Gun, a Silenced Pistol, a Silenced Sniper Rifle and any Assault rifle of your choice
  • Stock up on grenades as they will help you often when enemies will group in small rooms.
  • AI is quite stupid but will still throw grenades and dodge them so take care.
  • Eliminate Snipers first, they are a huge threat and can spot you the quickest.

[top]Roadmap

Chapter 38

This is the final chapter of the main story and it is very easy. You will have to head to Citra's temple and then make a choice to see which ending you will get. I wont spoil either ending but it doesn't really matter which one you choose, as it is all towards your preference.

NOTE: After the cut scene is done you will be able to free-roam the map to finish of the rest of the trophies

[top]
Free Fall
Freefall more than 100m and live (Single Player only).

For this trophy you will have to free fall for 100M and live. This can be done by finding a glider and gliding until you are over an oceanic area then letting go off the glider and free falling down. Make sure not to steer the glider. The way I did it was in the location at X:442.4, Y:651.1 where you can just glide until you are above the ocean (make sure you check minimap that your arrow is right below the deep areas of the ocean) then just let go off the glider with and free fall. You will get the trophy as long as you survive the landing.

There is also a mission in the story where you jump off a plane. Don't deploy your wingsuit, instead just let yourself fall into the water for the easy trophy.

Inked Up
Earn 5 skill tattoos.

You will get this trophy after you have acquired 5 skill points to spend on skills. These are found when you hit the start button. You will probably have enough for this after the first few story missions so it shouldn't be too difficult.

[top]
Fully Inked
Earn every tattoo by learning all the skills.

This is probably one of your last trophies in the game. In order to get all of the skill trees complete you will have to unlock 54 skill points. These are received by leveling up in the game. You gain experience through completing missions, liberating outposts, killing enemies, doing any side missions, adding more stuff to the journal, activating radio towers. The experience difference between level scales the higher the level but getting all 54 skill points should come naturally through getting the platinum.

There are three different skill trees, all of which have a number of skills each. Some skills will be unlocked just by completing story missions, but others have special requirements. IN order to open up the trees more you will need to unlock earlier versions of the skill.

The Heron Tree

  • Hip Shooter - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Aimed Reload - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Syringe Potency - Unlocked naturally through story progression

  • Long Gun Expert - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Line Gunner - Unlocked naturally through story progression

  • Breath Control - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Marathon Man - Collect 5 Relics - This will be done when collecting relics for Archaeology 101
  • Dual Death From Above - 1 Death From Above Kill - You will do this for the trophy anyway so...
  • Dual Death from Below - 1 Death from Below kill - This is the opposite of death from above. You will have to kill an enemy from below for example when someone is standing on a platform above or a balcony or you can do it from water.
  • Gunslinger Takedown - 10 Handgun kills - really easy... just use a handgun
The Spider Tree
  • Spider Slide - Unlocked naturally through story progression

  • Takedown Drag - Unlocked naturally through story progression

  • Zoology 101 - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Loot Takedown - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Knife Thrown Takedown - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Ninja Step - You will have to liberate two outposts without being detected, this is fairly easy on the smaller outpost. This means that you have not been spotted at all and they didnt go suspicious that you were around. Easiest way is to get a load of silent weapons, snipe out most of them and then go for silent takedowns. Another easy way is to shoot a cage of a Predator so they kill everyone.
  • Combat Archery - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Nimble Fingers - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Quick Swap - Unlocked naturally through story progression
  • Nimble Hands - Unlocked naturally through story progression

Money to Burn
Spend $5000 at the shop.

This trophy should be unlocked through natural progress of the game as you will find yourself replenishing ammo quite often. You could speed this up and get 5000 and spend it all at once but this is not needed as all of your transaction throughout the game count. Also you will spend quite a lot of money on collectible maps so they add up too.

[top]
Aftermarket Junkie
Buy all attachments and paint jobs for one weapon.

This is a very easy trophy as long as you have the money and can go with your Money to Burn trophy. The easiest way to do this is to buy all of the upgrades and recolour for any of the handguns. Just find the one that you might actually use as the upgrades do help quite a bit. I'd recommend doing it a bit later in the game when you do not need to spend much money on other stuff.

[top]
Rebel With a Cause
Liberate 3 outposts.

You should get this on the way to Island Liberator . This is a very easy trophy as you only have to liberate three outposts. In order to liberate an outpost you have to kill every single person in an outpost.

[top]
Island Liberator
Liberate all outposts.

There are 34 Outposts you will need to liberate for the trophy. They are marked as a red house icon on the map and they all contain a number of different enemies. In order to liberate an outpost you will have to kill all of them. The outposts will get progressively tougher so I recommend doing the later ones stealth (with sniper rifles with silencer attachment). This way you will be able to get the outpost done silently without any worries. You will get a lot of XP from the outposts doing it this way. Make sure you turn of the darn alarms cause they help so much, there will be waves of enemies coming that you have to kill and who wants to deal with that ...

[top]
Unheard
Liberate an outpost without triggering an alarm.

In order to unlock this trophy you will have to liberate an outpost without triggering an alarm. This is done by turning off the alarms which are marked on the minimap as the bell icon. Just go up to the red boxes and hit to turn them off. This will unable the enemies from calling for reinforcements and you will be able to then liberate the whole outpost. After you do it the trophy should unlock. You can be seen as long as the enemies dont sound the alarm.

Full Bars
Activate 9 radio towers.

There are a total of 18 Radio Towers across the map, but you will only have to activate 9 for this trophy. In order to do so, find a Radio Tower icon on the map and head to it. You will have to do one of these as a part of a story mission early on which will explain the process. In order to activate a Radio Tower you have to climb to the top of the Radio Tower through ropes, ladders and thin pathways then once you reach a square platform with a switch activate it using and a short cutscene will occur showing you all the nearby locations of any importance usually Outposts (similar to the Synchronization of a Viewpoint from Assassin's Creed). Upon activating the Radio Tower, the reward will be 500 xp as well as full vision of the map, weapons which will be available for free and new Supply Drop missions. Also if you own a treasure map all the treasures will be shown.

I recommend activating all Radio Towers for easy experience and revealing all of the map so it is easy to locate areas and missions, as well as the free weapons you receive.

[top]
Archeology 101
Gather a total of 60 relics.

This is a collectible trophy. In the game there are a total of 120 Relics to be found which are small statuettes which usually play weird music when you are nearby one. Most of these are found under water or inside caves but quite a lot are found simply in shacks or on the open ground. For this trophy you will only have to get 60 Relics which is half the total amount. Also once you have unlocked certain regions through the Radio Towers you can purchase maps for $500 which will show all treasure maps and these become available as you progress through the game. This will show all of the relics that you can see in the areas that you have activated your Radio Towers on. Also if you ever pass by any relic it will appear on the map.

Note: Most might not be where they seem, so look for nearby water areas or caves where the relics could be. Also occasionally you will need to blow up a door or wall in order to get to them so carrying explosives is a good idea. You can check how many relics you have found by using your handbook.

[top]
Dead Letters
Gather all "Letters of the Lost".

This is a collectible trophy. There are 20 Letters which can be found in total which are found usually in dark caves. Look for a shining Corpse and then interact with it to receive the lost letter. They can be uncovered on the map by buying the same maps that you buy to see all the relics which cost $500 each. The letters will show up on the map under an envelope icon. You can check how many letters you need left by checking the notebook in the start menu.

[top]
Memory to Spare
Gather all the memory cards.

This is another collectible trophy. There are in total 20 memory cards which can be found only inside the Red Door Rooms in Outposts (with vending machines, typically some laptops and stuff). There are 34 Outposts in the game and you will have to liberate all of them for the platinum anyway. Inside 20 of these are the memory cards, which can be found once you liberate an outpost, inside the red door room you will find a flashing laptop. Go up to it and hit which will find the memory card for you. You can check how many you have by using the notebook under the start menu.

Note: If you missed some just fast travel to the outposts and you will appear in the red room which means you will be able to check all 34 for the remaining memory cards

[top]
Jungle Journal
Unlock 50 entries in the Survivor Guide.

This is a really easy trophy and should come naturally through progression in the game. The journal entries get added to your Survivor Guide every time you discover new things which include killing and skinning different animals, picking different flowers, meeting new characters, buying or unlocking new guns/weapons, driving different vehicles, crafting new stuff and activating Radio Towers. You should have no trouble logging 50 entries, you can check how many entries you logged by checking the stats or the survival guide. You should get this sometime through the story.

[top]
Bagged and Tagged
Complete a Path of the Hunter quest.

Path of the Hunter quests are quests in which you will have to hunt a certain number of normal animals or hunt a special animal who's skin can be used to craft some of the high level stuff. They will become available once you liberate outposts. You will need to do one of these for the Poacher trophy so you shouldn't worry too much about it, but if you want some extra money or that crafting icon just head to one of these quests and start it by pressing on the Notice Board and then accept the quest. It will give you a mission area you have to head to in order to do the quest. You will have to do a minimum of one of these for the platinum but multiple can help earning some money and in crafting.

[top]
Road Trip
Complete a Supply Drop quest.

In order to get this trophy you will need to complete a supply drop quest. These quests will involve you using a vehicle to go through circles in order to get to a certain area and drop off the supply drop. These are really easy as you have more than enough time limit to go through the circles and get to the finish. Even if you mess up you can restart and the track and time will be the same. To unlock these you will need to activate Radio Towers and they will reveal the location of the mission.

Note: You will need to complete three of these for the platinum, as they are required for one of the skills.

[top]
In Cold Blood
Complete a WANTED Dead quest.

Wanted Quests appear once you liberate outposts across the map. These once started will require you to kill a certain number of special enemies with a knife. These are fairly good to do for money but you cannot kill them in a different way or the quest will fail. You can find out which ones you will need to kill by using the camera and they will appear as the yellow enemies instead of red ones. Those are the ones you need to knife. You will need to do one of these for the trophy but three of these for the platinum.

[top]
Let the Trials Begin
Beat any Trial of the Rakyat score.

These are the missions marked with a red star which are really weird and easy to do as all you have to do is finish one of these trials. They are usually about killing enemies within a certain time limit where you get points depending on how many enemies you have killed. You will get the trophy once you have completed the trial. You will only have to complete one of these for the trophy.

[top]
Poker Bully
Win $1500 playing poker.

You will need to win $1500 from playing Poker in order to get this trophy. Poker tables are found in villages usually inside the pub/bar in the village, marked by a card icon. In order to get this trophy you will have to get all of the money from the other three opponents on the table in order for the poker round to end. The game will give you tips on how you can win as it will tell you if you have a good hand or not. Remember you will need the minimum amount of money that you are betting when you're starting the Poker match. There are four difficulties and I recommend just playing Novice which bets $100 and if you win you will get $400.

Difficulties:

Practice - $0 (you can use this to learn the game if you never played it)
Novice - $100
Skilled - $150
Expert - $250

Make sure to manually save before and after your wins to make sure you do not lose too much money. If you end up losing loads just restart by either killing yourself or the game.

Hunter Hunted
Lure and kill a predator.

This is a really easy trophy and you will most likely get it by accident. In order to get this trophy you will have to anger a Predator animal which is one that has a claw icon above its head. Once you are attacked you will have to kill it either by shooting it or by doing the quick time event that occasionally occurs. Predators include tigers, great sharks, crocodiles, komodo dragons, etc which are all fairly common to find.

Hunt and skin a rare animal.

There are a series of Rare Animals that you can hunt in the game in order to get their skin to be able to make the final version of some of the crafting items. These rare animals are found only in Path of the Hunter quests and in order to unlock these you will need to liberate outposts as they are found on the notice boards of outposts you liberate. You will know if they have a rare animal as the notice board will have a "Rare" stamp on it.

Note: You only need to hunt one of these for the trophy, and you most likely want to combo it with the Bagged and Tagged trophy

Needle Exchange
Craft 25 syringes.

This is a really easy trophy as during the game you will be able to craft syringes. I got this trophy by crafting normal medicine syringes in order to heal myself during missions. In order to craft syringes you will need special leaves that are required for different types. When you complete quests and do missions as well as collect collectibles you will get more recipes for Special Syringes. Just craft any 25 syringes for the trophy. You can check how many syringes you have created in the notebook.

Syringes:
Medicine - Required: 2x Green Leaf
These Syringes are used to heal yourself.

Animal Repellent - Required: 2x Amber Leaf
These syringes are helpful when you want to scare away predators. Lasts 40s.

Enhanced Protection - Required: 1x Crimson Leaf
Enemies can be detected by scent and explosives can be detected by chemical emissions. Lasts 40s

Hunter's Instinct - Required: 1x Amber Leaf
Animals can be detected by their scent and herbivore animals wont flee. Lasts 40s.

Fireproof - Required: 2x Crimson Leaf
Prevents burn damage for 40s.

The Good Stuff
Craft a special syringe.

These are unlocked by completing missions, finding collectibles, doing side stuff. The way I did it was create the syringe called 'Untouchable' which is achieved by getting 30 relics (which you will on the way to plat). Then you will need to collect a certain amount of leafs in order to create it. The leaves are 2x White Leafs, 5x Green leafs and 5x Blue leafs. Blue leafs are commonly found under water, the other two can easily be found in the forests.

You can go there at any point during the game and it's not that difficult to find. The key will be that you will see two people hanging from the trees. The lost Hollywood stars head will be near them and you will get the trophy by hitting and interacting with it.

Heartless Pyro
Kill 50 enemies with the flamethrower (Single Player only).

This is a really easy trophy and you can do it while you clear through outposts or during mission 13 when you get the weapon. The Flamethrower is given to you during Mission 13 in order to burn weed patches. Afterwards you get to keep it. Just go to any outposts and use it to kill the people but be careful if you light a building it might light you as well. You will also be able to get it for free anytime if you activate a certain amount of radio towers which I recommend. You only have to kill 50 enemies before the trophy will pop. You can check how many people you have killed with the flamethrower in the notebook statistics. IF all else fails you can buy the flamethrower for $2,400 but I don't recommend as it is a waste.

Love the Boom
Kill 4 enemies simultaneously with one explosion (Single Player only).

This trophy will most likely unlock on its own as you are wrecking havoc within the game. In order to get this trophy you will need to kill 4 people with an RPG-7 Rocket Launcher. Now just go to an outpost or get yourself notorious so that enemies will come at you in vehicles. Try to group 4+ enemies around a vehicle then shoot it. Alternatively you can use barrels in order to do it. This isn't a really difficult trophy and you should most likely get it by accident during some of the story missions.

Rock Always Wins
Fully distract 25 enemies with rocks (Single Player only).

In order to get this trophy you must fully distract an enemy using the Rock Throw which is done by pressing the key on the D-Pad. You are taught this concept early on in the game and this is a really easy trophy. Just find a hiding spot, throw the rock and wait until the enemy goes to investigate (make sure they cant see you from there) and then goes back to his original position. This can be repeated over and over for the trophy to unlock. You might be using this a few times in the story as well so you will have already done most of it and only do a few left for the trophy. You must do this 25 times. You will never run out of rocks (lol).

Never Saw it Coming
Kill an enemy with a takedown from above from a glider, zipline or parachute (Single Player only).

For this trophy you will need to unlock the Death From Above skill from the Heron tree. This will give you the ability to perform stealth takedowns from above (ledges, ziplines, gliders etc) and is a really easy trophy. You just have to jump onto an enemy from above and kill them when the prompt appears. I did this naturally as I was doing the missions but I believe there is a really easy opportunity in Mission 6. Make sure you have the skill before attempting this trophy.

Improper Use
Kill an enemy with the Repair Tool (Single Player only).

The Repair Tool is a special weapon that can be gotten for free after you unlock a certain amount of Radio Towers. Once you have one equipped just find a lonely enemy and give him a blazing surprise After you have killed him with the Repair Tool the trophy should unlock. You can check how many kills you have with the repair tool in your notebook but thats kinda pointless cause you only need one

Toxophilite
Kill a target from 70m or more with the bow (Single Player only).

For this trophy you will need to buy a Recurve Bow. You can get it for free by unlocking radio towers or buy it from a general store. I would recommend buying Marksman Sight attachment and Expert Archery Skill from the Spider tree. These two will greatly improve your chances at this trophy. Now you just have to find some enemies in the distance and try shooting them, hoping you hit them from the right distance. You can find out easily by putting a marker where they are located and go 70M away from them. Needs some precise practice with the bow to get it right.

Island Paparazzi
Tag 25 enemies using the camera (Single Player only).

This is probably one of the easiest trophies in the game. All you have to do is use your camera by hitting on the D-pad. When you look at enemies it will scan them and tag them for you so your stealth missions are easier. I got it naturally while doing my silent outpost tries.

Fearless or Stupid
Dive more than 60m (Single Player only).

This is another easy trophy. You will have to swim out to the dark ocean parts on the map for this trophy. Once you are there (and alive cause you know.. Sharks m8) continue swimming downwards towards the ocean bed. Once you are far enough this trophy will unlock. You might almost suicide for this however you can just go to your map and fast travel out to any location so you avoid dying. I would still recommend saving the game before this just in case Make sure to press to swim faster down.

Here We Come
Complete "Ready or Not" Co-op map (Online/Offline).

The co-op trophies are small "ministories" where you follow four different characters through different missions which are all long and really repetitive. They can be done offline or online and when you die you restart from a checkpoint so it doesn't matter. There are four loadouts you can pick from or create your own one. The missions are fairly easy so I wont talk much about them just follow what the objectives tell you too. I recommend you pick the easiest difficulty for this and do it solo as it is fairly. Basically you just kill all enemies, proceed to next area, kill more, do this challenge, kill more, protect this, eliminate these, kill more etc.

You may run low on ammo during this so look for flashing crates. I recommend you grab a friend to make the co-op missions bearable as they are boring solo. The trophies are not missable and you will get them at the end of the mission.
