If you didn't obtain it on the ship, it will respawn in Bikanel Island, right in the Oasis area where you start off at.

So the strategy guide I have says it's possible to win the first blitzball game you play, mainly by passing the first half to level up and then use Jecht Shot while Tidus is in and then Venom Shot when Wakka is in. So I kept them scoreless in the first half and passed enough to level up. But then somehow when I used my Jecht Shot then animation ended before the shot went in and next thing I know Tidus is out and Wakka is in. They ended up beating me 2-1, as it's impossible to keep them scoreless the whole game and the rest of the team doesn't have the stats to pass or shoot effectively. Even getting it into Wakka's hands is hard as shit. I swear blitzball is going to keep me from the plat.

Its not impossible to win without them scoring. I won 2-0 with tidus scoring both. Once your defenders gain the ball for the first time, keep the play on the near side of the field. (Tidus` side) Pull their forwards toward your defender, break them and pass to Tidus. Now just hug the sides going for goal. Shoot when you get close before the defender gets to you but you should be fine breaking one defender. Second half do the same thing but you can use Jecht shot and take out any defenders. After you score in both halfs just gain possession and sit behind your keeper to run out the clock or pass for exp. The Goers didn't shoot once in the whole match. Like people have said, blitzball gets easier as you go. My tip would be soon as you can recruit brother, do so as he its one of the best player in the game. Stick him right in the middle as he is great as a striker or defender.

Just keep at it and you will have it down in no time. It really does become a joke later. You start winning like 13-0 and its starts to being a boring grind.

Also one thing people forget is when you play exhibition matches, you don't gain exp but you can still use tech copy. This can be really handy if you think you are slipping in tech compared to other teams or you really want a certain tech. You can catch up in techs without other teams gaining exp.

In addition to Brother, if the Al Bhed Psyches lets go of Nimrook recruit that guy to your team as the Goalkeeper and you are literally in Undefeated mode.

Thanks for the tips, what I finally figured out was that keeping the controls on auto were whats holding me back. First game I switched to manual I beat them 3-0 and it was easier than I can describe.

I will definitely keep this in mind, thank you. I love the guide by the way, it's been bookmarked.

Absolutely!!! I was trying to remember who my keeper was back in the day, played one game against al bhed yesterday and remembered instantly lol. His catch figure is insane. I gotta wait like 22 games before his contract runs out.

Yeah blitz is easy once you know how Manual A I find the easiest. A moves according to the mini map and B moves according to on screen position (like when your running around with Tidus in the world). With A, you can just look a the map the whole time.

I went into overtime 5 times with the score 0 - 0 then once I finally scored the match ended so yes you can keep them scoreless for the whole game. I just tried to keep everyone near my goal the best I could. It just took a little work to keep them from scoring and I didn't get Venom Shot until about halfway through the last overtime. Never really played Blitzball very much on the PS2 but I guess it I want the trophies for it I better get better at it.
