BUY A CHEAP USB KEYBOARD
You won't regret it, makes chatting/planning 10x faster.

Because of there being so many different paths to take within the game and that most of the trophies are for reaching a target number with each class and such there is no real roadmap to follow within the game.

I do say to play the story first at least until after you join a Grand Company and get the ability to buy a Chocobo Whistle from them so you can ride a mount. After that try different DoW classes but before trying DoH classes, learn some of the DoL classes to accquire the goods for your DoH's for free.

But start making friends from the start of the game as this will be key to completing this game.

Make use of Macro's, you can set multiple attacks and such on one keypress to add to your hotbar. More on Macro's is coming soon, but in the meantime other places have macro tutorials to browse and maybe learn.

Have fun

A Realm Restored
Obtain all available FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn trophies.

Obtained by completing all the other trophies within FFXIV. Congratulations!

[top]
To Crush Your Enemy
Defeat your first enemy.

This will be the first trophy you will earn upon leaving the city that you started in, just kill any of the LV1 enemies and this is yours.

[top]
To Crush 10,000 Enemies
Defeat 10,000 enemies.

This is actually a easy trophy, it will just take a long time to hit magic number needed, which means this could be a expensive trophy to earn for some. The land is full of spawning enemies every which way you look, FATE's are also another brilliant way to rack up more kills for the count and there is always a fight nearby to participate in or initiate a battle yourself.

You can keep check on the amount of kills by have by pausing the game and go down to the achievement section, but I wouldn't worry too much about it as it will come naturally through normal gameplay/class progression etc.

Page One
Complete your first quest.

You can earn this by completing any story quest, but it can also be obtained by completing a side quest for a NPC character, you will get this trophy as you're starting your trip around your starting city, within the first few minutes of playing the game for the first time.

Select a server and create a new character. An Adventurer's Duty
Complete your first levequest.

Levequests will become available from quite early in the game and you will be available to accept them from either a Levequest NPC Issuer in the area that they are completed in, or from the Adventurers Guild in the city of the area you are currently in, think of these as Guild Missions that can be played again and again. Completed Levequests however can be cashed in at any Levequest NPC Issuer.

Once you're at your destination, bring up your Journal, scroll down to the Levequest and click on Initiate to start the event. As long as your Aetheryte homepoint is set to the area your within, if you die you don't fail the mission but you return to the Aetheryte, with the timer still ticking away, run.

But you can't do as many Levequests as you want. Every 12Hrs (Real Time) The game issues you with 3 Leve-Allowances. You have to have at least have one Leve Allowance to accept/complete these missions. Should you fail the mission you're completing, you can retry it from your journal, but at the cost of another allowance.

[top]
An Adventurer's Life
Complete 1,000 levequests.

Check above for more information.

*Warning this trophy will take a absolute bare min of 167 days subscribed to earn by normal means*
1000 Quests / 6 Per Day = 166.6666666667 Subscribed days needing, not including failed leves.

[top]
For Glory
Complete your first guildhest.

Guildhest's become available once you reach level 10, earning the ability for more at levels 15, 20 up to level 50. They are your introductory to playing with other players and the dungeons that await you throughout the game. I personally suggest either becoming a Healer or Tank class as one of your main classes, this is to avoid the waiting time that most DPS class players normally go through to attempt these events. Normally don't take any longer then 5-10min to complete a Guildhest and there is no limit as to how many you can do in a day.

Complete one of these through your duty finder and this trophy will be yours.

[top]
For the Realm
Complete 100 guildhests.

Check above for more information. After completing 100 of these, this trophy will be yours.

[top]
Meddler in Materia
Successfully affix materia to an item.

First you need to work on reaching lv19 as any Disciple Of The Hand except the Culinary Class.
  • Carpenter
  • Blacksmith
  • Armorer
  • Goldsmith
  • Leather Worker
  • Weaver
  • Alchemist
Then you need to make your way to the northern section of Central Thanalens to visit Mutamix Bubblypots and his assistant and learn the skills to meld Materia with items and how to convert 100% spiritbond items into materia that can be converted over.

You also need another item called carbonized matter which can either be bought from the marketboards or Grade "One" with miner (lv20) out at Middle La Noscea near the Western La Noscea Entrance.

In short go to the item you wish to attach the materia to, depending on what DoH class can apply materia to it. Press and select meld. Next select the materia that you wish to apply to the item and select proceed, you should now have a item with the materia now melded into the item and your trophy.

[top]
Master of Materia
Successfully affix 100 materia.

Read above for more information, do that 100 times over and this trophy will be yours.

In and Out
Clear your first instanced raid.

Instanced Raids are the co-op dungeons that are found all over Eorzea at varying levels of difficulty, they are the key in leveling up and finding some of the rarer items of the game. If you are a Healer or a Tank class getting a duty finder match-up wont take very long at all. DPS on the other hand, should expect to wait for your team to be complete. You also may have to wait as a whole team for when a instance is free (each dungeon can only have a certain amount of teams running in it at any one time, thus called a "instance") But is mainly only a problem with the level 50 instanced raids.

You and your team will be transported inside of the dungeon. You're success rides mainly on how efficient your Healer can heal without attracting the enemies focus to them and that the Tank keeps the enemy/ies focused on them, DPS Can vary what they do if they attack with physical with most DPS's, or attack and heal by being a Thaumaturge. Make use of your Limit Break as well, you need to go to the Limit Break Move from your Actions Menu and set it to your Hotbar for ease of access, proper use/timing of Limit Breaks can really turn the tide of the battle into your teams favor and bring victory closer for your team.

Once you have completed your first Instanced Raid, this trophy will be yours.

[top]
Repeat Offender
Clear 100 instanced raids.

Check above for more information. Once you have completed 100 Instanced Raid Dungeons this trophy will belong to you. If experiencing trouble forming teams to complete runs, make use of our forums to see who can help from here.

[top]
Seeker of Truth
Clear the Binding Coil.

To acquire this trophy requires you to do a few things even in order to access the Binding Coils.
  • First you need to defeat Ifrit, Garuda, and Titan on Hard Mode.
  • Fully equip yourself with items from either Amdapor Keep and/or Tomestones of Philosophy.
It would also be advised to do this with people you have played instances with before, like your Free Company members so you know how each person works and you definitely need prior knowledge to be successful so be prepared to fail quite a few times in the process of passing this. The area comes in 5 different stages and each stage has their own sub-bosses that you need to defeat.

One wrong move can spell death, instantly.

Also, the best items are AF+2. +2 is the mythology stuff (item level 90 stuff) you can buy from the vendor in Mor Dhona.

Gear checks might sound brutal, but I actually prefer them. Especially at end game, you can't afford to make any mistakes in any hard primal battles. Having the gear shows you're capable and if you don't know how to use your class properly, the others can and will be able to tell.

Also item level 80 stuff won't make it easier at all since there are already better items in game, it will just make it easier to get into turn 1 and 2.

Destiny's Child
Join a FATE.

At random times FATE's, Full Active Time Events will become available at different areas of the map (Blue Radar) and needs many players to be involved in the battle to be able to complete them. There are a few different ways some FATE's are completed, most involve just taking down target/s. There are others as well though, some that involve collecting goods both from the ground and from killing the FATE targets, collecting stolen goods, moving FATE's and FATE's that come in 3 FATE parts one after another. There are players out there running around in FATE groups that you could take advantage of, as well as just doing it solo with random players.

Once you have completed your first FATE, the trophy will be yours.
