[top]Introduction

Get off the couch, put on your gym clothes, and prepare to Get Fit With Mel B! The retired Spice Girl retains her stage presence and star quality as she whips your lazy butt into shape. Watch out though, she packs a punch -- literally.

Although, if you really don't want to actually workout for this game, that's an option too. While the North American release of this title REQUIRES Playstation Move/Eye technology, the European release doesn't. If you play the NA version, the game interprets your movements and gives you a score on each exercise, requiring you to perform the exercises correctly, or come up with some clever way to trick the system into registering high scores. The EU version however allows you to sit on the couch while Mel leads you through each exercise and, when she's finished, you can use a standard PS3 controller to give yourself a perfect score.

Even though the NA and EU versions of this game differ in this way, their trophy lists DO NOT STACK. I know this for a fact as I own both versions of this title.

It's also worth noting that, due to lack of accuracy, sensitivity, and consistency of Eye/Move technology, the NA version of this game IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PLATINUM. The EU version should be rated a 1/10 in difficulty since you literally don't have to do anything except constantly give yourself perfect ratings on all of your exercises.

Since I have experience with both versions of this game, much of this guide will be written in a 2-for-1 style. Each trophy description will give tips for both the NA version and the EU version.

[top]Tips & Strategies

North American Release

  • The bottom line for the NA version is that this game can be very frustrating. Why? Because you're forced to use PS Move/Eye technology, which is far from perfect. Sometimes you'll be mimicking Mel B perfectly, but the game will give you ratings such as 60/100, or worse. Several trophies are directly dependent on your ability to earn top marks, so the Move/Eye tech makes the game insanely difficult, mostly due to the fact that you will get very frustrated.
  • Since you're forced to use PS Move/Eye technology, you should experiment with creative methods of getting the game to think you're doing the exercises correctly. For example, sometimes Mel wants you to do quick bicep-curl uppercuts. For me, I received higher marks if I ignored her and instead performed a punching motion directly at the computer. To platinum the NA version, you must discover and learn to reliably use tricks like these in order to get high scores.
  • Following this theme, color-coordinate your outfit to make it easier for the Eye camera to detect the movement of the Move controller in relation to both your body and your background. For example, if your Move ball glows bright pink, try standing in front of a dark, solid-colored background and wearing dark-colored shorts/shirts.

European Release

  • While playing this game, all you have to do is load up exercises and tell Mel you did perfectly on each. This is labor-intensive in that you have to adjust your score meter every 30-60 seconds. While playing this game, try to watch movies on your computer or read a book to save yourself from unbearable boredom.

[top]Roadmap

  • Step 1: Complete 20 workouts of every category. Specifically:
    • Note: Just do 15 minute workouts for all of these, unless you have the NA version. Then it's better to do 20 min workouts after you hit level 85. In most categories, in the EU version, if you're giving yourself perfect scores every time, just doing 20 workouts will get you to level 100.
    • To do workouts of a specific category, navigate to "Workout" -> "Choose Workout" and find your category.
    • Complete 20 Fitness workouts.
    • Complete 20 Dance workouts.
    • Complete 20 Cardio workouts.
    • Complete 20 Advanced Cardio workouts.
    • Complete 20 Step workouts. You must tell the game you have a step. For the NA version, you really do need a step. For the EU version, you don't need a step since you may just be sitting on the couch anyway.
    • Complete 20 Combat workouts.
    • Complete 20 Pump 'n' Tone workouts. You must tell the game you have wrist/ankle weights. You don't really need this for either version.

  • Step 2: Get to level 100 in three categories.
    • If you're depending on PS Move/Eye tech in the NA version or if you elect to use it in the EU version, this will be insanely difficult and frustrating, primarily because the Move/Eye is imperfect technology. Even if you're doing the exercises 100% perfectly, the game can still give you ratings of 30 or even 0, making it impossible for you to level up. See tips in the trophy descriptions below for more help.

  • Step 3: Clean-Up. Yes, clean up.
    • Knock out any remaining trophies including working out for 14 consecutive days, checking the suggested menu for 7 consecutive days, finishing a 60-minute Aerobics workout with a rating of 90 or higher, working out at specific times of day, and so on. You don't really need a play here. Just pick a trophy you need and read the corresponding description below.

My Body is a Temple

[top]
Feel The Burn
Completed your first Workout

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Just complete a "Today's Workout" or a "Workout" -> "Choose Workout" (but not "Custom Workout") workout to pop this trophy. You will be doing about 150 total workouts during your quest for platinum, so this trophy will pop very early on.

[top]
Drop And Give Me 1000
Done 1000 press-ups on toes

This trophy may require extra grinding.

"Press-ups on toes" refers to a specific exercise which is often incorporated into "Fitness" workouts. If you only need this trophy left for platinum, make a custom workout as follows:
  • Select "Choose Workout" --> "Custom Workout" --> "Fitness"
  • Choose "Press-ups" and increase the number of reps to 96. Hit "OK". Turn Warm-Ups and Cool-Downs off. Hit "OK". Change the Workout Time to 90 minutes. Hit "OK". Hit "Start Workout".

[top]
Bring It On
Raised any category's Fitness Level by 10

This trophy will pop through natural gaming.

Workouts in the game are divided into the following categories: Fitness, Step (Aerobics), Dance (Aerobics), Combat (Aerobics), Cardio (Aerobics), Advanced Cardio (Aerobics), and Pump 'n' Tone (Aerobics). The first time you workout in any of these categories, the game will ask you how you think you did. If you scored well and say the workout was "Too Easy", you'll start at level 75. If you scored poorly and/or say the workout was "Too Hard", you'll start out at level 25. Anything in between will put you somewhere around level 50.

To raise any category's fitness level, start "Choose Workout" --> "Workout" --> [some category] and workout repeatedly. For the NA version, you really do need to score well and show improvement. Also, after about level 85, you need to start doing 20-minute workouts, at minimum. For the EU version...just keep telling the game that you're perfect. Either way you'll level up over time.

You are shooting to reach level 100 in three of the seven categories, and since you can't start any higher than level 75, you cannot possibly miss this trophy on your way to other trophies and to platinum.

[top]
25 Levels Up
Raised any category's Fitness Level by 25

This trophy will pop through natural gaming.

[top]
Driven
You have exercised every day for two weeks

If you're playing the NA version, you'll most likely need to do 2-3 workouts per day for an entire month or more to get the platinum. Make sure you deliberately do at least one 15-minute workout for 14 consecutive days. Note that "Custom Workouts" do not count here.

If you're playing the EU version, this may be the last trophy you need for plat. If so, just load up and suffer through one workout per day until the trophy pops.

You may be able to adjust the clock on your PS3 and "trick" your way into earning this trophy sooner than you would otherwise, though this method hasn't been confirmed.

[top]
99...100
Completed 100 reps

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Workouts are a series of exercises. Exercises involve one motion that you repeat over and over for a certain number of repetitions or "reps".

When I hit the plat in this game, I had tallied over 30,000 reps. This trophy will pop through natural gaming.

[top]

[top]
Flash Dancer
Collected over 350 Stars in a Dance Aerobics Workout

You earn Fitness Stars by performing reps and exercises with high ratings. The longer the workout you do, the more stars you will earn. To pop this trophy, pick a workout in one of the seven categories and workout for at least 30 minutes to ensure you collect enough stars by the end.

It's a good idea to combine this trophy with 60 Min Burn, which requires you to complete a 60-minute Aerobics workout with a rating of at least 90%. If you can do that, you'll earn far more than enough stars for this trophy.

[top]
Going Up?
Climbed the equivalent of the Empire State Building

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Step (Aerobics) workouts count towards this trophy. Make sure you've told the game that you have access to a step, otherwise you won't have the option to workout in this category.

If you're playing the NA version, you really do need a step or at least a make-shift step as the Move/Eye will know whether or not you're actually stepping up onto something.

If you're playing the EU version, you don't actually need a step since you're probably sitting on the couch anyway.

This trophy will pop while you're doing your 20 Step workouts, even if you do 15-minute workouts every time.

[top]
Pumped
Lifted the equivalent of a SUV in Pump and Tone

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Pump 'n' Tone (Aerobics) workouts count towards this trophy. Make sure you've told the game that you have access to wrist and ankle weights, otherwise you won't have the option to workout in this category. You don't really need the weights for either the NA or EU version of the game.

This trophy will pop while you're doing your 20 Pump 'n' Tone workouts, even if you do 15-minute workouts every time.

[top]
20 Run
Done 20 good reps in a row

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Workouts are a series of exercises. Exercises involve one motion that you repeat over and over for a certain number of repetitions or "reps".

For the NA version, watch the meter on the right-hand side of the screen. Always always always focus on filling the meter to the top, earning 100 points constantly, if you can manage it. Do a series of 20 consecutive reps with ratings above 80 to pop this trophy. This should be one of the first trophies you earn.

For the EU version, just finish a couple exercises and give yourself a perfect rating for all of them to pop this trophy.

[top]
Perfect 10
Done 10 perfect reps in a row

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Workouts are a series of exercises. Exercises involve one motion that you repeat over and over for a certain number of repetitions or "reps".

For the NA version, watch the meter on the right-hand side of the screen. Always always always focus on filling the meter to the top, earning 100 points constantly, if you can manage it. Do a series of 10 consecutive reps with ratings of 100 to pop this trophy. This should be one of the first trophies you earn.

For the EU version, just finish an exercise and give yourself a perfect rating for it to pop this trophy.

[top]
First Gold
Won a gold medal in a workout

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Individual reps, exercises, and overall workouts are given ratings from 0 to 100, 100 being "perfect". For the EU version, you get to rate yourself. To earn a gold medal and pop this trophy, complete a workout with at least a rating of 90.

[top]
Full House
Got a gold medal for all challenges

Find challenges by navigating to "Choose Workout" --> "Challenges". To pop this trophy, you need to complete each challenge with a rating of 90 or above. The challenges are "Dance!", "Abs Attack", "Legs of Steel", "Fighting Fit", and "Cardio Test". The time required for each challenge varies. Essentially, each challenge category requires you to complete all exercises in the game that fit into that category. As a result, "Abs Attack" is very brief and "Fighting Fit" is very long.

For the EU version, this is just as simple as everything else. Do the workouts and give yourself perfect scores.

For the NA version, this is very tough. UNDERSTAND THIS: You may have perfect technique but the game can at times give you ratings as low as 50, 30, or even 0, not registering at all. YOU MUST LEARN WHAT WORKS BEST FOR YOUR GAMING AREA. That means that you must help the game to be able to recognize the glowing Move controller ball from the background and from what you're wearing. If the ball glows bright pink, try to pick a dark background to stand in front of and wear dark-colored clothing. Also, try changing your motions slightly to see what the Eye/Move likes best.

You can check which medals you've earned for each challenge by navigating to "Your Progress" --> "Your Medals".

[top]
Just A Snack
Burned off a chocolate bar

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Every time you workout the game tells you how many calories you're burning. The game keeps a cumulative total of calories you've burned and you can check this out by navigating to "Your Progress" --> "Your Stats".

A chocolate bar is roughly equivalent to 500-600 calories, so it'll probably take you 4-5 15-minute workouts to get to this point. By the time you hit platinum, you'll have burned at least 25,000 calories, so this trophy is a complete no-brainer.

[top]
One Large Pepperoni
Burned off a pizza

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Every time you workout the game tells you how many calories you're burning. The game keeps a cumulative total of calories you've burned and you can check this out by navigating to "Your Progress" --> "Your Stats".

A pepperoni pizza is roughly equivalent to 5000-6000 calories, which is ridiculously high. By the time you hit platinum, you'll have burned at least 25,000 calories, so this trophy is a complete no-brainer. Just keep working out and you'll earn this trophy on your way to plat, guaranteed.

[top]
Party Season
Burned off a Christmas dinner

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

Every time you workout the game tells you how many calories you're burning. The game keeps a cumulative total of calories you've burned and you can check this out by navigating to "Your Progress" --> "Your Stats".

Strangely enough, this trophy pops before One Large Pepperoni. A Christmas dinner is roughly equivalent to 2000-3000 calories. By the time you hit platinum, you'll have burned at least 25,000 calories, so this trophy is a complete no-brainer. Just keep working out and you'll earn this trophy on your way to plat, guaranteed.

[top]
What's For Lunch?
Followed the menu every day for a week

Okay obviously the game won't know if you're really eating what it's suggesting you eat.

For seven consecutive days, navigate to "Nutrition" and check out what the game suggests you have for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Just poke around at the various recipes. Do this for seven consecutive days to pop this trophy.

You may be able to adjust your PS3 clock settings to earn this trophy sooner, but there's really no advantage to doing so and this method hasn't been confirmed.

[top]
60 Min Burn
Completed a 60 minute Aerobics Workout of any type with a score over 90%

For NA users, this trophy is HARD. For EU users, just keep telling the game that you're perfect.

An "Aerobics Workout" counts as any category other than Fitness. So, pick the category you've got the most skill in, whether it be Step, Dance, Combat, or what have you. YOU CAN PAUSE THE GAME DURING THE WORKOUT AND STILL EARN THIS TROPHY.

Be mindful of the meter on the right-hand side of the screen and experiment with ways to get the game to give you high scores. Like I've said several times already, to "win" the game, spend less time worrying about perfecting your technique (since the game doesn't always register you doing it perfectly) and spend more time learning what the game wants to see you do. Those playing the NA version of this game may need to attempt this trophy many, many times.

[top]
Practice Makes Perfect
Practiced five different exercises

From the main menu, navigate to "Choose Workout" --> "Practice". Pick one exercise and a minimum number of reps and time. Finish the mini-workout. Repeat this four more times with different exercises each time to pop this trophy.

[top]
Variety
Completed at least one workout of each workout type

This trophy will pop during natural gaming.

There are seven different workout categories or "types". They are Fitness, Step, Dance, Combat, Cardio, Advanced Cardio, and Pump 'n' Tone. You need to do 20 of each of these for other trophies and therefore for plat, so this trophy will pop once you've done at least one workout of each type. You can just do 15-minute workouts if you like.

[top]
My Workout

From the main menu, navigate to "Choose Workout" --> "Custom Workout". Choose the "Fitness" category, make a quick workout, and complete it to pop this trophy.

Also, after about level 85, you need to start doing 20-minute workouts, at minimum. For the EU version...just keep telling the game that you're perfect. Either way you'll level up over time.

Also, after about level 85, you need to start doing 20-minute workouts, at minimum. For the EU version...just keep telling the game that you're perfect. Either way you'll level up over time.

Just get to level 90 in any category to pop this trophy.

Reach level 100 in any category

Workouts in the game are divided into the following categories: Fitness, Step (Aerobics), Dance (Aerobics), Combat (Aerobics), Cardio (Aerobics), Advanced Cardio (Aerobics), and Pump 'n' Tone (Aerobics). The first time you workout in any of these categories, the game will ask you how you think you did. If you scored well and say the workout was "Too Easy", you'll start at level 75. If you scored poorly and/or say the workout was "Too Hard", you'll start out at level 25. Anything in between will put you somewhere around level 50.

Just get to level 100 in any category to pop this trophy. FOR THOSE OF YOU USING PS MOVE/EYE TECHNOLOGY, THIS IS VERY HARD. To get to level 100 from level 95 is especially challenging. Do whatever it takes to score in the mid-to-high 90s for every workout and do 20 or 25-minute workouts to increase your chances of leveling up.

FOR NA USERS OR THOSE RELYING ON MOVE/EYE TECHNOLOGY, THIS IS ONE OF THE TOUGHEST TROPHIES IN THE GAME. Getting to level 100 in any one category using the PS Move/Eye is an impressive feat, so doing it for three categories is insane. Here are some tips:
  • Shoot for level 100 in only the three categories you are most skilled at.
  • Remember that you may not get full marks for having perfect technique. It is at times more advantageous to learn how to "trick" the game into giving you high scores. For example, rather than doing "uppercuts" just like Mel, try punching straight towards the camera instead. Even though this isn't what she's asking you to do, the Move/Eye system might like this action better and reward you with higher scores.
  • Help the PS Eye see the glowing Move controller by wearing colors that contrast sharply with the glowing pink (or whatever) ball on the Move. If the Eye can't see the ball, it's more likely to give you terrible ratings.
