Well, holy crap! Am I ever out of practice playing GOW.
Figured I'd just play on Titan and only play through this once. I may have to rethink that or just collect my practice getting hammered at the beginning.
As the game was firing up, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool if a game just basically assumed you'd played all the previous versions, knew what you were doing and just threw you into the fire against a boss?
Well, what the hell? They read my mind. And built it before I even knew I was going to have the thought.
Jesus I'm sick of that friggin multi-legged frost/water breathing asshole of a horse already.
I'm actually finding this GOW harder than the first two. I've read trophy guides that suggest it's easier than I & II. Which it might end up being when I finally complete the Platinum and compare how hard it was to finish the challenges.
But at this point in the game, it actually seems harder. NOTE: I'm playing through the first time on Titan.
I think that might be because there aren't the long easy stretches broken up only by boss fights.
This game continually makes you work.
Getting through Hades was tough and then I thought I'd get a break.
But no, you have to fight a ton of guys just to get through the front door of Olympia. I had to check out some youtube video to figure out what I was doing wrong.
And then another battle immediately after with another batch of those same bastards and a Centaur General.
It's all doable, it's just that it never seems to stop. It's non-stop effort. Which is probably a good thing.
Ok, looking for some guidance in the last battle in the Labyrinth.
I've watched two videos. One was some guy playing Chaos mode with no upgrades and just owned it. So it can obviously be done but none of the comments on the video explain what the heck he's up to.
The other video I watched was NextGenTactics and he got way lucky in that the chest in the room completely refilled his magic meter.
My general approach has been to use + and then +. Which works for the sirens and then switch to the Nemean Cestus for the guys with the shields and then back to the standard weapon. I'm horrible at the names.
But I'm just getting owned. There are obviously specific attacks for each enemy that are very effective and the whole trick is a) knowing which is which and then b) switching fast enough do do the most damage to the enemies in the shortest amount of time.
So, I need the help with a). b) I can figure out through repeated practice but if I'm not using the most effective tactics, I'm just not going to get anywhere. Which is my current state. Arrrggg!
I'm not new to this site but I am a new member. Just wanted to thank you for the great advice and wanted to add two notes that I found helpful.
1) On the Nice Tan trophy, L1 + Triangle needs to be held to count.
2) Nice Tan and It's gettin hot in here... can be spammed easily when you fight the giant scorpion. Just stand in the corner of the cube right in front of him (away from his claws) and he'll keep spitting out mini scorpions for you to have your way with.
