One method for grinding red orbs for Temple of Zeus and upgrades:
Head into Treasures from the Main Menu after you have completed the Main Game. Once you have gone there, head down to the Combat Arena. Use the following options for you fight:

Health - Infinite
Magic - Infinite
Costume - Doesn't matter
Backdrop - Doesn't matter
Difficulty - Easy
Creature Slot #1 - "Minotaur", Count = x2, Health = Normal, Attack = off. and Respawn = on
Creature Slot #2 - "Minotaur", Count = x2, Health = Normal, Attack = off. and Respawn = on

Once those selections have been made head into the arena. As soon as the arena starts press start and click twice to get to the page where it has all of the Godly Possessions. Scroll up to Relic "The King's Ring" and activate that. That will give you 10x the normal amount of orbs. Just simply start hacking away at the Minotaurs and collect your winnings. Once you have had your fill press select and exit the arena.

*NOTE - When you have finished in the Combat Arena, never quit the game immediately or you may lose the work you just did. Make sure you head into the Temple of Zeus after, press select and Save and Exit from there to make sure the save has gone through.

The Ghost with the Most
Collect all of the trophies

There Will Be Consequences
Sink Atlantis

This is a story based trophy. You will get this trophy after escaping the Volcano Core. Once you have climbed all around the inside of the volcano you will come to two long paths up and falling rocks of lava. Jump back and forth between the two walls while climbing to avoid the rocks. Once you get to the top of the wall you will activate a cutscene. The cutscene shows you getting thrown back into the city but the city is falling. Once you regain control of Kratos you will receive this trophy.

[top]
The Puppy Mill
Break the grinder

This is a story related trophy. You will obtain this trophy in Temple of Athena. You will come to a mini cutscene showing dogs attacking a man. The dogs force the man into the giant grinder. You will have to jump down and grab dogs using and throw them at the grinder. After about 5 or 6 dogs have been thrown into it the grinder will break open opening your path to continue. You will receive the trophy shortly after the grinder has shattered.

[top]
Straight Flush
Survive the Vortex

The Vortex is the big fight on the ship. The best way I found to make it through the fight is to simply use your Thera's Bane and Scourge of Erinys to take out the first wave of enemies, the trident wielding enemies. Then during wave two it is the firey birds that attack from above so I found it best to just keep moving and grabbing all of the birds.

During the third wave of enemies it start getting more tricky but not that bad. In this wave there are both the birds and the enemies wielding tridents. The best method for tackling this one was to use magic (Don't worry there is a a magic chest on the ship) and grab the birds until they stop spawning and just attack the trident wielding enemies normally.

The last stage however begins to make things a bit hairy. What you are going to want to do here start off normally and learn the patterns of the lightning. If you are having trouble just start grabbing all of the enemies and let the lightning take care of the majority of the enemies. Be careful though, do not let yourself get struck by lightning because it does quite the bit of damage. The lightning strikes become more frequent and stronger as the time passes. I found it best to stand on the steps from the lower deck to the upper deck in the left middle of the ship since lightning strikes near there but never ON the stairs. Keep grabbing enemies and let "mother nature" do the brunt of the work.

Once you have taken care of the enemies an action sequence occurs where you must repeatedly tap . After the sequence you will see a cutscene, once you get control of Kratos start heading towards the save point in the area you are in and once you start heading past the green and blue orbs chests the trophy will pop.

[top]
That Hit the Spot
Kill Lanaeus

Yet another simple trophy. While playing through the level "Nexus of Atlantis" you will get to a part where you are traversing a ceiling and you hear a man yelling for help. That is Lanaeus. When he sees who you are he will close the gate so you can't get to him. You will have to follow the ceiling to the left, drop down and land on a platform below. Once on the platform simply use the Arms of Sparta to throw a couple spears at him. After you hit him a couple times he will fall into the electrified water and die. You will receive the trophy shortly after.

[top]
A Bridge to the Past
Raise the bridge to Death's Domain

This is a story related trophy. You will get this in the level "Nexus of Atlantis" Once you use both Automaton Gears on the two statues and bring them to life, you must head back to the open area where you couldn't do anything before. You are almost there when you have to fight 3 electrified boulder enemies with a few eagles.

All you have to do to obtain this trophy is go to the center podium and repeatedly tap when prompted to make all the statues allow the bridge to rise. Once the bridge has completely risen and you get control of Kratos again you will receive the trophy.

[top]
Dental Work
Rip out Scylla's jaw

This is a story related trophy. After your intro in Atlantis you will be kicked off the boat and have to fght this dinosaur looking monstser. He will attack you head on but you can block his attacks easily using . Proceed to beat the snot out of him several times until he alters his side of the screen to your left. He will throw out some spiders and try intimidating you. simply grab the spiders or attack them while attacking Scylla to make short work of him over on this side. He will move back to being in front of you and you will have access to the big crane wheel. Use this to activate an animated sequence. Complete the sequence and you will receive the trophy.

[top]
A Mother's Sacrifice
Kill Callisto

This is a story related trophy. Once you enter the temple of Poseidon you will be shown a cutscene. Once the cutscene is over you will have to fend against Callisto. Callisto is a powerful monster who uses several attacks. He will smack the ground, flat out hit you, throw you at walls, or pin you against a wall. He is also rather quick for such a small fighting area. What you are going to want to do is first clear out everything in the room. Once it is clear hopefully you haven't taken much damage. Let him pin you against the wall once. It will take some health but reverse the attack by alternately hitting and . Once you have gained leverage use to hit him four times. Then hit the action sequence button required to throw him to the middle of the area. Now just let loose on him. Dodge all of his hits by rolling and keep on a relentless rampage. After about 50-60 hits let him pin you against the wall again. Do the same again and throw him to the center of the room. You should be able to go up to him and press to activate another cutscene. After the cutscene you will obtain this trophy.

*Note - If Callisto pins you against a wall and your health is too low, he WILL kill you.

To your right will be a hole in the wall. This is the start of the trophy. You will drop down and it will show you the floor is starting to fall in because of the fire. Break through the first barricade and continue following the path. slide down the slide and be ready to jump, grab the edge and pull yourself up. break through the next barricade and continue on. Make your right and head stright til your left turn. Turn left and break through the next barricade and head straight. Double jump over the part where the floor has already collapsed and continue on til you get to the part where you swing. Use to initiate the swing and break through the final barricade to land back on the street. Once you land on the street the trophy will pop.

Deactivate the crusher

This is a story related trophy. You will get this trophy in The Temple of Thanatos. You will come to a part where you are climbing ledges and you have to roll to an opening doorway in a wall to your right while a giant block keeps moving back and forth to try to crush you. Once you get past the crusher you follow the hallway til you get to a room with four gears connected with chains and a bunch of skeleton enemies. The skeleton enemies won't stop coming until you deactivate the crusher however they will only give you a certain amount of orbs so don't waste time messing with them too long. Once you are ready, use Thera's Bane to destroy the four gears. Once the four gears are destroyed the crusher will not move anymore and you will be awarded the trophy.

Let Him Win
Finish Deimos battle

This is a story related trophy and can not be missed. You will get this trophy at the end of the Temple of Thanatos. You will get to the part where you find Deimos hanging from some branches, use Thera's Bane on the log to your left and shoot him down with the Arms of Sparta. Once he is down prepare for a battle. He isn't that hard of a challenge, just keep an eye on him and get distant when he starts to glow red because that is when he is going to be doing real damage. Keep up on the assault and don't be afraid to use a bit of magic since Deimos constantly releaases tons of blue and green orbs.

Once Deimos has taken enough punishment he will grab Kratos and push him through the wall and start free-falling. Once you land on the ground a cutscene starts up instantly and you will receive your trophy.

After proceeding through the level "River of Lament" a bit you will stumble upon good ol' King Midas. He will have a above his head. Walk up to him and press . This will activate an action sequence. Knock his ass out and pick him up but be ready to drop him because a pack of dogs will come out. When they do drop him and devastate the dogs. Use by King Midas again to knock him out so you can pick him up again. Once you carry him down the tunnel a bit he will try to fight free. Hit the correct buttons to knock him out again. Keep repeating this process until the action sequence of you dragging him down the tunnel activates. Simple hit the commands it wants and you will see Kratos hurl King Midas into the lava. Once you gain control of Kratos again this trophy will pop.

[top]
Spartans Stand Tall
Save Deimos

After the cutscene following your fight with Deimos you will have to drop down to follow Thanatos. When you get down to the bottom you will see Deimos and Thanatos fighting at the bottom and Thanatos knocks Deimos off the cliff. You must do a series of wall and ceiling climbs to get to Deimos but once you do there will be a short action sequence in which you pick Deimos up and bring him back to solid ground. Once he is there you give him your Arms of Sparta and both of you must head towards Thanatos. Once you reach Thanatos a cutscene will play. Once you get control of Kratos again you will receive this trophy.

[top]
The Death of Death
Kill Thanatos

This is the final boss fight in the game and it takes place over several sections.

Section 1 you will be fighting Thanatos normally with Deimos. Use Thera's Bane for additional damage and do whatever you must to survive this fight. It isn't really difficult but it isn't a walk in the park either. Evade as often as you can and keep on the attack. Halfway through this section Thanatos will jump onto the cliff, jump down and blind you and go for Deimos. You must recover from the blindness and help Deimos quick. Then the fight will continue. At the end of this section Thanatos will jump on the edge again jump down and blind you but then attack you instead. Have Deimos help you in this action sequence to get to the next part.

Section 2 Thanatos will be a huge demon. he will shoot blinding rays at you. What you want to do is deflect them back at him so he lowers his head and puts his arm on the battlefield. Use Thera's Bane to attack the arm and it will slowly crack open. Repeat this process four times and you will be ready for section 3.

Section 3 you will be fighting Thanatos normally along side Deimos again but beware of Thanatos' new long range attack where he creates a wave straight at you using the ground. With good timing this can easily be dodged with a roll. He will do a similar jump at the wall as the first time and attack you first this time. Get Deimos to help you again by throwing his spear and take his sword and shove it in his gut. He will rip it out and continue the fight. Keep pummeling him until you get to the part where he flies at the wall again. He will attack you again so get Deimos' help and shove his sword in his gut again. You will need to pummel him just a bit more again until he flies off and returns for Section 4 as a Giant Demon again.

Section 4 Thanatos returns from his flight as a demon. This time you are gonna need to deflect his attack to get his arm down again. Attack his arm with Thera's Bane and once his arm has taken enough of a beating to release orbs get ready to double jump because he punches the floor creating a shock wave. Once he has done that stand as far back as you can to prevent yourself from getting hit with his other arm as he sweeps it across 2/3 of the field. Then he will start shooting you again until you deflect it back at him to get his arm to fall onto the field. Repeat this whole process until you have damaged him for the fourth time. At this point his arm will remain on the battlefield and a will appear above Thanatos' arm signifying the start of an action sequence. Get Deimos to help you out two times and a cutscene will follow.

In Section 5 kratos is completely infuriated and has gone into a rage mode. Simply devastate the Demon Thanatos' life with an endless assault from the raging Thera's Bane Kratos. Once you have pummeled him enough a will appear above his head to drop him down from Demon Form to normal. Once he is at his normal form walk over to him and a will appear over his head. Use to beat the snot out of him and throw him. Walk over to him again and do this again when prompted with another . Walk over to him again and hit to start a final action sequence.

After the action sequence you will see another cutscene. During this cutscene you will receive this trophy.

[top]
Disarmed
Kill Erinys

The Erinys battle is quite bothersome at points. This battle has multiple phases to it. The first phase you will be fighting her pretty much head on. The best method I found to beat her is to deflect her attacks and attacks her with upgraded with Thera's Bane to plant an explosive on her. Keep deflecting and planting these bombs until she summons 3 eagle like creatures. Make quick work of them by grabbing them and rolling frequently. Once they are disposed of continue plating bombs on her. After her third time summoning eagles she should be about ready to fall. When she falls you will be prompted to press to rip her wing off. Once you rip her wing off you are halfway done with this section. She will begin to fight more relentlessly now that she has one wing. Keep repeating the same process as before until she falls for the second time. When she does, use to rip her second wing off and start the Giant Erinys action sequence.

During the action sequence you will have to dodge her attacks and slide down pillars and jump on her. When you land on the wooden platform immediately run forward and slide again to catch her. You will activate a cutscene here.

During stage 3 you will be freefalling towards Erinys. Use to freefall faster to catch up to Erinys. Once you catch up to her use Thera's Bane and heavy attacks to chip away at her armor. She will knock you off and you will have to freefall again. Keep doing this until you activate the cutscene of falling down to earth.

During this last phase simply run up to her (Avoiding her long range attacks) and activate the final action sequence with . Complete the action sequence and you will receive this trophy and a new magic.

Entertain the brothel whores

As soon as you enter Sparta you will be on a bridge leading into the city. Follow the bridge and head to the left down the stairs. When you approach this building the words "The Brothel" should appear on your screen.

As I am sure you can imagine, this means you must complete one of God of War's infamous sex mini-games. To activate the mini-game just stand by the three whores outside and press .

The button commands always change each time you play it however it will always end in you rapidly pressing square. Once you see the giant climax of red orbs flying around kratos will get up and start walking out with a few of the girls while you get the trophy.

As you continue through the level you will come across a monster named "Piraeus Lion" set free by The Dissesnter to attempt to rid the planet of you. Take care of this behemoth any way you feel fit. Once he is disposed of you will be able to continue onwards in the level. You will meet the Dissenter again shortly and will be prompted to hit . This will kick him through the door. He will run again, but you will catch up shortly. Kick him through another door with and he will fly into another room and kneel there. Walk up to him and deal the finishing blow with another . Simple hit the right button to stop your younger self from punching you and then aim at the mirror using either up, down, left or right. He will come charging again and you will have to repeat this process until you have broken all four pieces of the mirror. Once you have done that you will go charging at him and have to repeatedly tap to finish the fight. Once the fight is over you will receive your trophy.

Once the mini-cutscene is over walk past the broken statue and head up the stairs and into the building. Before you there will be another big statue or Ares. Take the ramp to your left and go into the room behind the Ares statue. Once the hallway becomes an opening there will be a chest to your right and one to your left. Open up the chest on your left and you will get your next Feather.

Mounts of Aroania:
  • Phoenix Feather #12: Once you enter the area head back up by going left and head across the bridge. Mid-way across the bridge you will need to defeat a bunch of harpies and archers to finish crossing the bridge. Once you hvae killed everyone and can cross the bridge you will see a bridge ahead of you shining red on one side. Use your Arms of Sparta to throw your spear at the bridge to knock it down. Once it is knocked down, climb up the ledge on the right and there will be three chests. One will contain Phoenix Feather 12.

Canyons of Sorrow
:
  • Phoenix Feather #13: While running through the caves you will get to a part where you must spin a lever that opens a door shown through an opening in the cave. Run back out and hug the wall and jump across to where the spiders are. Destroy the spiders but DO NOT go through the door that you just opened because it will slam shut.. Instead look straight ahead of you and there will be a platform with a chest sitting on top of it. Double jump over to the other platform and open it up for Phoenix Feather 13.

River of Lament:
  • Phoenix Feather #14: Right after your first save point and Gorgon Eye chest in the level you will come to a rope you must slide down. Slide about halfway down and you will notice a platform to your immediate left. Make sure Kratos is on the left side of the rope and jump onto the ledge. Open up the chest sitting on the ledge and claim your second to last Phoenix Feather.

  • Phoenix Feather #15: Once you have toppled King Midas and made you way back outside the caves you will be greeted by 5 enemies who want to take your life. Take care of the annoyances and open up the green chest for health. Right next to the green chest is a gate. Break down the gate and head inside. Follow the tunnel and jump on the little ledge where the chest awaits. If you have been following this guide this will be the last Phoenix Feather you need for the trophy.

EXTRA PHOENIX FEATHERS
Here is a list of extra feathers available if you missed any of the ones previously noted above. If you have collected all Phoenix Feathers already these chests will either contain Red orbs or mixed orbs of all varieties.

Sunken Atlantis:
  • Extra Phoenix Feather: Once you get to the second save spot in the level, after defeating the big four armed guy with the boulder that's electrified you will notice a wall to your left. This wall is breakable. Destroy it and there will be two chests. One will contain a Phoenix Feather.

Mess with the Bull...
Collect all the Minotaur Horns

The Cauldera:
  • Minotaur Horn #1: Once you defeat two Minotaurs and a couple of flame birds you will have to pull a lever back to create a platform to ride down the lava river. On the platform you will be attacked by enemies. At the end of the river you will have to jump off the platform before it sinks and climb a wall. At the top of the wall awaits a save point and a chest containing your first Minotaur Horn.

Island of Crete:
  • Minotaur Horn #2: Once you get to the part where you are pushing a block down a hallway with a bunch of archers shooting at you, jump up onto the platform up top and take out the archers up top. Once they have been disposed of use the chest to your right to either replenish health or magic. Next jump into the hole in the wall into a circular platform. Open the chest to your right and you will receive Minotaur Horn number 2.

Temple of Athena:
  • Minotaur Horn #3: Once you get to the save point at the pool after dispatching some medusa's there will be a ledge on the right hand side of the pool. Follow that ledge to a chest containing a Minotaur Horn.

Heraklion:
  • Minotaur Horn #4: Once you have toppled the Armored Cyclops and headed up the spiral staircase you will come to a ledge where you are supposed to shimmy across on a rope. Only problem is there will be archers shooting at you. Drop down and dispose of all the archers. Once they are all taken care of, instead of shimmying across the rope, stay on the lower platform and run towards the screen on the left side to see two chests. Open the chest on the left to receive another Minotaur Horn to add to your collection.

Heraklion Forum:
  • Minotaur Horn #5: Once you have dispatched a group of Medusa's and Flame birds break through the wall on your right and climb the ladder up the the ledges above. Follow the path until you get to where you have a long set of beams to cross. Follow the beams directly right and drop down for a red chest and Minotaur Horn 5.

Island of Crete:
  • Minotaur Horn #6: Once you have taken care of the giant four armed golem with the electric boulder head straight through the doorway and you will find two chests. One for health and the other for magic. Claim both of those and head up the staircase to your left. Once you get to the top of the stairs there will be two chests. Open the chest to your right and claim your sixth Minotaur Horn.

Mounts of Aroania:
  • Minotaur Horn #7: When you get to the part in the level where kratos speaks to a fallen ally you must use a crane using a wheel to lift a pile of rocks that pushed onto it. Once raised you can push it off the side and break the wooden balcony which releases a swarm of Harpies which are able to freeze you much like Medusa's. These shouldn't give you any troubles. Defeat them and head to the wheel in the back to lower a platform and stand on it before it rises back up. Once you reach the top look to the back of that wall in front of you. Use your Thera's bane on the icy part of the wall to reveal the chest containing this Minotaur Horn.

Aroania Pass:
  • Minotaur Horn #8: After you defeat Erinys you will obtain a new magic attack and have to fight off a group of enemies but you get infinite magic. Take care of these enemies by flexing your new magic attack and enter the area that was blocked off that you just opened up. While on the path on your left hand side there will be two chests. The first chest will contain a Minotaur Horn.

Jail of Sparta
:
  • Minotaur Horn #9: After the second lever you pull you will see a man named "The Dissenter" escape from a jail cell. Once he escapes you will be able to lift the door up by pressing rapidly. Once you get the door up look to your left. There will be an old looking piece of wall. Smash through it to find a hidden chest containing this Minotaur Horn.

Temple of Ares
:
  • Minotaur Horn #10: After you have obtained you new Arms if Sparta and defeated the little batch of enemies you will proceed onwards to a green and blue set of chests, a save point and a bridge. Collect your orbs, save your game, and proceed to head across the bridge with caution. Make sure to keep your new shield up to protect yourself from the archers arrows. Once you get to the bottom defeat the five archers on the platform. Once they are destroyed you will notice a chest on the platform in plain sight. Open it up for Minotaur Horn number 10.

Mounts of Aroania:
  • Minotaur Horn #11: Once you enter the area head back up by going left and head across the bridge. One will contain your next Minotaur Horn.

Shrine of Boreas:
  • Minotaur Horn #12: Once you get to the part where you have to use your shield to walk up an extremely windy hill you will receive the Horn of Boreas and then have to fight a crowd of enemies off with unlimited magic. Once they have been disposed of, head into the shrine. Once inside, turn immediately to your left and you will see two chests. One with red orbs and one with another Minotaur Horn.

Canyons of Sorrow:
  • Minotaur Horn #13: Once you get to the part where you must fend against three sword wielding enemies and two archers near a rotating green and blue chest take out the enemies and head into the tunnel ahead, Follow the tunnel til you get to another green health orb chest. There will be a golden body on the floor and a mini-cutscene showing Thanatos climbing a ledge high above. Collect your green orbs and destroy the rubble to your right to show a ledge. Climb the ledge and stay to your right so you can climb up onto the ledge itself. Sidle your way to your right onto another platform which contains this Minotaur Horn.

River of Lament:
  • Minotaur Horn #14: As you are progressing through the level you will get to a Golden Statue of a Cyclops next to a Golden Chest. Continue down that path until you fall off the ledge. At the bottom there will be 3 enemies you must defeat. Once defeated snag up the blue and green orbs in the chests to your left. The ramp that goes up to the right will take you farther into the game so instead what we want to do is stand near where the blue chest was and jump across the lava pit onto the platform across from you. Once you land there continue on and jump to the next platform which has a chest on it. Inside the chest is your second to last Minotaur Horn.

Port of Atlantis:
  • Minotaur Horn #15: Shortly after entering Port of Atlantis you will need to use Thera's Bane to destroy a chain holding a boulder. After you destroy this chain you will get attacked by a bunch of harpies and three Cyclops'. Defeat them and head into the opening you made by destroying the first chain. Destroy the second chain and the platform will drop. Simply head towards the camera until you stumble upon a chest. If you have been following my guide this will be the last chest you need to open up for any of the Minotaur Horns.

EXTRA MINOTAUR HORNS
Here is a list of extra horns available if you missed any of the ones previously noted above. If you have collected all Minotaur Horns already these chests will either contain Red orbs or mixed orbs of all varieties.

Burning Sensation
Incinerate 500 enemies

Chances are, you won't be receiving this trophy throughout the normal gameplay of this game. However, I do recommend you make an attempt at it this way you get a good chunk of the incinerations taken care of before having to grind the rest out.

To incinerate an enemy you must use Thera's Bane. While you are attacking with Thera's Bane you will notice that some enemies actually catch fire and burn to their death. That counts as an incineration.

Once you have completed the game and still need some incinerations go to Treasures from the Main Menu and select the Combat Arena.

In the combat arena you are going to want to use these settings:
Health - Infinite
Magic - Infinite
Costume - Doesn't matter
Backdrop - Doesn't matter
Difficulty - Easy
Creature Slot #1 - "Atlantis Female", Count = x3, Health = Normal, Attack = off. and Respawn = on
Creature Slot #2 - "Atlantis Male", Count = x3, Health = Normal, Attack = off. and Respawn = on

Then select to start the arena.

once you are in the arena simply attack with while holding . The enemies will catch fire and die in one hit. Once you have gotten 500 total kills between the arena and main story you will receive the trophy.

There is no way to track this but hasn't been reported to be glitched or anything so keep going until you get it.

*Note - While playing the main game, if you die before reaching a checkpoint and have to redo any of these kills in a specific area, the kills you have will still count even if you die and/or reload your last checkpoint.

Master of Arms
Completely upgrade all weapons and magic

Upgrading your weapons greatly helps you throughout the game. To upgrade a weapon simply hit start and select which weapon you want to upgrade and dump your hard earned red orbs into the weapon. Once you have fullfilled the required amount per weapon you will have successfully made an upgrade. Some weapons can only be upgraded to level 3 but some can be upgraded to level 4, when it is maxed out it will tell you the weapon is maxed out.

You may or may not have enough red orbs from the main game to upgrade everything but once you finish your game, as long as you don't start a new game, you will keep all the weapons from the game in the post game for the arena and Challenges. So if you haven't finished upgrading all your weapons during the main game don't worry about it. Here is a list of how many orbs each weapon needs in order to be upgraded:

Blades of Athena:
Upgrade #1 - 2,950 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 8,550 Orbs
Upgrade #3 - 17,500 Orbs

Eye of Atlantis:
Upgrade #1 - 4,500 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 11,500 Orbs

Thera's Bane:
Upgrade #1 - 6,800 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 11,200 Orbs

Scourge of Erinys:
Upgrade #1 - 5,650 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 12,350 Orbs

Arms of Sparta:
Upgrade #1 - 3,750 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 8,500 Orbs
Upgrade #3 - 12,750 Orbs

Horn of Boreas:
Upgrade #1 - 6,350 Orbs
Upgrade #2 - 12,650 Orbs

If you need a method to grind out any remaining orbs please see the Tips & Tricks section of this guide located above the Trophies.

I'd Hit That
Execute a 200-hit combo

There are a few different spots you can use to obtain a 200 hit combo. Two great places to get this out of the way are when you learn your first and second magic attacks. You will be pit against a rather large number of enemies but will have infinite magic power. Simply keep using your magic and you will be invulnerable during the entire length of the animation.

For another method on getting a 200-hit combo please see Greatest Hits

Collisions
Throw 10 enemies into other enemies

For this trophy you will have to grab enemies using and throw them at other enemies. however not all enemies can be thrown and whipping enemies into each other also will not count. The best place to get this trophy is in the Temple of Athena where you are fighting the dogs and kicking them into the grinder. Instead of kicking them into the grinder kick them into one another. After you have done this ten times you will receive the trophy.

*Note - While playing the main game, if you die before reaching a checkpoint and have to redo any of these kills in a specific area, the kills you have will still count even if you die and/or reload your last checkpoint.

Heartless
Rip out 10 Keres Wraith enemy hearts

Keres straight out suck. They are very quick and they like to lurk beneath the ground to strike and take a lot of hits to kill. You will first encounter these enemies when you are in the Streets of Heraklion. These are the shadow enemies of this game. Once you get their health low enough you will be prompted to press to finish them off. Of course, you can always opt out of the final attack and just dwindle their lives away but for this trophy you will have to press . Pressing initiates a 1 hit finishing blow on the Keres by ripping out their heart. The first time you fight the keres there will only be three so if you want to just get this trophy out of the way I have confirmed that you can kill two then die, continue from checkpoint and repeat the process until you have received the trophy. This isn't completely necessary but I would recommend it to get the hang of dodging their attacks and parrying them. Also you don't want to later on down the road find out you killed too many without the action sequence to be able to get the trophy.

*Note - While playing the main game, if you die before reaching a checkpoint and have to redo any of these kills in a specific area, the kills you have will still count even if you die and/or reload your last checkpoint.

The Midas Trick
Attempt to open the Golden Chest for 30 seconds

The creators of these games thought they were absolute comical genius' when they shoved this little chest in the game.

The Golden Chest is located in River of Lament. Once you slide down the rope after your first save point you will come across a bunch of archers you can take out with your Arms of Sparta. Use the wheel to open up the next area and proceed through to where you must fight 5 shielded enemies. Once those have been disposed of you can open up the blue orbs chest located on the back wall. Proceed to your right and jump over the lava pit up to a platform where you see a red orbs chest ahead of you. Stop and turn to your right and jump up to find a hidden ledge with hidden red orbs. Collect those and jump down and open up the chest in front of you containing more red orbs. Turn left and go around the bend and on the walkway ahead of you you will see a Golden Cyclops statue and a Golden Chest. The game developers thought it would be funny apparently to put in a chest that absolutely COULD NOT be opened in any way shape or form throughout the entire game.

BUT they did make it possible to attempt to open this chest as some sort of sick and twisted joke to make people wonder what was in that chest, if it was anything good that they may be missing out on. So position yourself in front of the chest so the "Hold " icon appears and do as it says and simply hold down on until the trophy pops.

Here is a video for the location of this chest:

Make Her Scream
Make a Titan scream for over a minute

This one is pretty tricky. There is only 1 titan that you can actually make scream and that is Thera. Once you get to the level Thera you will be going up a staircase in what appears to be a cave with a lot of fire. At the top of the stairs you will meet the titan Thera. Thera will exclaim that you absolutely must free her in order to obtain her power (Thera's Bane) or else Kratos will fall. Once you get control of Kratos again you can initiate an action sequence by hitting circle on the shining spot on the floor. Then you must rotate the left analogue stick in a counter clockwise position. Once you get 3/4 of the way ripped off Thera will begin to scream. You need to keep rotating the stick to keep her in the screaming range for at least 61 seconds. If for any reason you slip up and she pulls you too far in and stops screaming the timer will reset. If you go too far and complete the action sequence you will need to restart from the last save.

It is pretty tricky to get the hang of but keep trying and once you get the hang of when to pick up speed on the rotation and when to let her pull you back in you will have no troubles making her scream for over a minute.

Here is a video showing you how to accomplish this:

God Amongst Men
Beat the Challenge of the Gods

Challenge of the Gods are a notorious for making an appearance in every God of War game. Not all challenges will be easy and not all the challenges will be difficult. There are a total of 13 challenges. 5 challenges (The Ares challenges) can be completed any time after beating the game. however the Athena challenges must be unlocked using red orbs in the Temple of Zeus. Complete all challenges and you will receive the trophy. The locations for the Athena Challenge of the Gods are:

The first statue head on your left; Costs 70,000 Red Orbs and unlocks Challenge Set 2 (Athena's challenges 5-8)
The last crystal ball on the pillar on your left hand side; Costs 40,000 Red Orbs and unlocks Challenge Set 1 (Athena's challenges 1-4)

All videos in this guide are courtesy of Powerpyx showing his method of completing the challenges, some may differ from my explanations.

Challenge of the Gods - Ares

Challenge #1 - Six Ways To Die
- Objective: Open all 6 chests placed in the arena without dying.

This challenge isn't a problem at all so long as you know how to parry attacks. Start out by running straight down and opening the first chest. This will spawn a dog. Move counterclockwise to the next red orbs chest, kick the dog away from you and open up the chest. You are 1/3 of the way there. Once you open up chest number two a Hoplite Sentry will appear along with the dog. Kick the dog into the Hoplite Sentry to buy yourself enough time to open chest number three (which should be the red chest counter clockwise from the first two you opened). Now another Hoplite Sentry will appear with the dog. Skip over the green orb chest if you still have enough health and head for the red one to the right of it. Here you are going to want to wait until all three area near you, parry a sentry's attack and attack back with while holding to give it Thera's Bane. That should knock the Sentry's to their knees and catch the dog on fire. Open up the chest and head to your next red orbs chest. Do the same thing here but be careful opening that last chest will spawn another Hoplite Sentry and dog to go along with the ones already there. Parry the sentry attack and attack using Thera's Bane and open up the chest. One more to go. This is where things get really hairy because another dog, sentry and a cyclops join the fight. If you are fast enough you may be able to get away with sending out a Scourge of Erinys by hitting left on your D-Pad and quickly rolling over to the chest, sending out another Scourge of Erinys and opening the chest. If you aren't fast enough then send out another Scourge of Erinys and wait for a sentry to attack, parry it and turn around quickly to open the chest. The key in this one is to try to make the Cyclops stay as far from possible from the chest so you can parry the other enemies attacks to buy yourself enough time to open the chest.

Challenge #2 - The Gauntlet
Objective: Kill all of your enemies before they kill you.

This challenge has a LOT of enemies. The fight starts out with you pit against a bunch of Harpies and Triton Soldiers. Take care of the harpies using simple grabs while fighting the Triton Soldiers off your back. There isn't really much to say for the first wave but to use good combos with Thera's Bane and try to conserve as much magic as possible. Once wave 1 has left wait for wave 2 but DO NOT open the chest. Wave 2 consists of 4 Keres Wraith and 4 Minotaur. Try to focus more on taking out the Keres Wraith first as they are harder to see and can attack from far distances. Every once in a while use a Scourge of Erinys to start to damage the Minotaur and keep them off of you while you deal with the others. Once the Keres Wraith are gone you can focus on the Minotaur. Once you deal with the Minotaur by using Thera's Bane attacks trying to conserve magic run and open the chest to get either health or magic. Health would be the wiser of choices. The final wave consists of 2 Armor Cyclops' and The yellow blade wielding soldiers. The blade wielding soldiers can be dodged easily by rolling so try to take out the Cyclops' first with Thera's Bane. When the cyclops' are gone deal with the soldiers normally. This is the final so don't be afraid to use the rest of your magic up, also grab your opponents for some invincibility time or to deal the final blow to these guys.

Throughout the challenge enemies dying will grant you some green orbs but be sure to try killing as many enemies as you can with action sequences to obtain even more orbs.

Challenge #3 - Nocrates
Objective: Retrieve all its red orbs before time runs out.

This one is more of a pain in the butt because of the time limit over the enemies. You will need to break through a a box, holding a box, holding a box, holding a box, holding a box, holding a chest while two waves of Hopelite Soldiers are there. The best route I found was still cutting it close, I only had 2 seconds remaining but my method is very simple. As soon as the challenge starts set off a Scourge of Erinys to destraoy the first set of enemies but IMMEDIATELY start attacking the box by continually press . Don't try press because even though the attacks hit a bit harder they take too long to wind up. As soon as the second set of enemies spawns hit off another Scourge of Erinys. This should take care of every last enemy for this challenge unless one wasn't spawned by the time the magic subsides. If that is the case then don't worry about them at all, they will more then likely get killed in your attacks against the box. Keep pushing your way through the boxes without stopping until you break through the final one and see the chest sitting there. Grab the chest, open it and the challenge is complete.

Challenge #4 - Unscathed
Objective: Kill all the enemies without taking a single hit.

This challenge seems to be the most difficult of the Area challenges and it may takes you a few attempts. There will be four waves of enemies and the waves will intertwine with each other. Also on a side note, don't be fooled by the green orbs you get from enemies, they will not fill your health at all, one hit your dead.

Wave #1: A Cyclops will enter the arena. He isn't much trouble as he just likes to slam around try to punch the floor. Evade his attacks by rolling and make sure you kill him with the action sequences when prompted. As soon as you defeat him wave #2 will spawn.

Wave #2: Two Medusa will spawn. You don't really have to worry too much about these guys unless you become frozen. They mainly attempt to freeze you the whole time and rarely attack. Please note that killing either one of the two of these Medusa will spawn wave #3 so make sure you keep them evenly hit. I recommend attacking them both until the appears above their heads. Then make sure you DO NOT use the animation sequence on the first one you kill. Instead make sure you kill it normally.

Wave #3: 3 fire birds appear at a clip along with 1 more Medusa. The first thing you are going to want to do it right away start the action sequence on the second Medusa from Wave #2. Once you kill that Medusa with the action sequence it will freeze all the enemies around and kill any birds on the field. Next you have two options, either you can attempt to destroy the Medusa while it is frozen from the other Medusa or you can let it unfreeze. If you choose to let it unfreeze dodge the birds' attacks while chipping away at the last Medusa. Use the animation sequence to rid the last Medusa and taking some birds along the way. Finish off any remaining birds between rolling around and jumping to avoid their attacks by grabbing them. Please note, even if there is still a Medusa left defeating the last bird will spawn wave #4.

Wave #4: You will be attacked by waves of Scylla Brood's (The spider things). These enemies flat out suck because they have fast long ranged attacks that are very accurate. The best way to dispose of these is to use the Scourge of Erinys over and over and roll around while you are not casting it. This should kill all but maybe 1 of them enemies. Once you are all out of magic go all out using Thera's bane and rolling to dodge enemy attacks.

Once you complete Wave #4 you will be done with this challenge.

Toggle Spoiler

Challenge #5 - Gear Up
Objective: Collect 3 Automatom Gears before your health is drained.

So long as you are adept to using Thera's Bane, this challenge is nothing more then a giant joke. The fight starts off with you pit up against an Automaton by itself. Use Thera's Bane and keep attacking only pausing to dodge attacks or wait for Thera's Bane to refill itself. You SHOULD be able to completely topple the first Automaton using the action sequence at about the same time the second Automaton is awakening. Start going after the second one and the third one will appear. Fighting the two of them isn't difficult by any means since you don't have to worry about any other types of enemies ruining your party. Just remember to keep using Thera's Bane and dodge their attacks. Health does drop during this fight but does not by any means drop at an alarming rate at all, plus you get health for defeating each of them, so the health drain shouldn't even really be noticed unless you are taking your sweet time attempting to kill them.

Challenge of the Gods - Athena

Challenge #1 - Airborne
Objective: Stay in the air for 10 seconds without touching the ground

This one isn't that bad at all. What you are going to have to do is get next to an enemy that has completely full health, if you hit them even once prior to doing this you won't be successful. But once you find one press and hold to do a swinging uppercut. This will throw your opponent into the air. Then you will go jumping up automatically. As soon as you reach the highest you will go start spamming the button to grab your opponent again and again. Make sure you keep your left joystick pointed towards the enemy at all times to make sure you are grabbing him and not a grounded enemy instead because it will break your combo. On the way down if you are hitting fast enough Kratos will grab the enemy and wind up killing him with 2 more seconds left to go. Keep spamming to make him come down even slower. You should land on the floor and have completed the challenge. It may take more then one attempt but this is the easiest way for anyone to be able to complete it.

Challenge #2 - Ground Pounder
Objective: Hyperion Rush an enemy to the ground and land ten hits in a row.

This one isn't too bad. What you are going to want to do is get all three of the four enemies together in the same area. Then parry one of their attacks and attack back with + to set up a Thera's bane bomb on them. As soon as you do that turn towards the fourth enemy and press + to do a Hyperion Rush. As soon as it shows you on top of the enemy start mashing as fast as you can to get the count to ten. Midway through the bombs should go off knocking your enemies back down long enough for you to get to ten otherwise they will stop you around 8 hits or so. If they stop you just try to repeat the process. Planting the bomb on the enemy is key so that it gives them another hit while you do what you have to do.

Toggle Spoiler

Challenge #3 - Guard Break
Objective: Break 5 shields simultaneously.

This one is surprisingly really easy. There are two methods you can use to attempt this one. One is to try to bunch them all up and parry one attack and set a bomb on all of them by countering the parry using and after the parry and letting them all blow like that, or you can hold and press to do a spin while your blades are on fire to set the bombs. The first method is more effective because it guarantees to put a bomb on all enemies hit while the other one has to connect with the majority of the attacks to place the bomb. Either way once the bombs are set just wait for them to go off. Not all enemies must have bombs physically on them to be affected by the bombs. If they are close enough to the others, then they too will lose their shield.

Challenge #4 - Ricochet
Objective: Parry 5 Arrows in a row.

There isn't really much advice I can give on this one. It is all about timing and it is completely random who fires in what order. The best piece of advice I can give is when the challenge starts to run backwards to give yourself some more reaction time room. You will have to parry (block the attack right before it hits you to deflect it back) 5 arrows in a row. If you miss one all of the archers will respawn and you will have to take another stab at it. Also try not to let the red orbs confuse you with the arrow, its hard to see the arrows while orbs are rushing in sometimes. Also don't mash the block button because you may get a couple but you will begin to have a hard time with this fast. Just try to learn the timing and it will become much easier.

Challenge #5 - FEAR KRATOS!
Objective: All must cower before the God of War.

This is by far the easiest and dumbest challenge of them all. The point of this one is to make all of the Atlantians crouch in fear of you. The best way to pass this mission is set yourself up near the center of the place and waste one of them. Once they see you kill one they will all start slowly trying to run and eventually fall to their knees cowering. So realistically just waste one of them and put the controller down, go make yourself a sammich and possibly take a leak. All in all when you get back you will have already have passed this challenge.

Challenge #6 - Frozen in Flight
Objective: Shatter 5 Ravens simultaneously.

This is yet another easy one. You will have 5 Ravens spawn immediately and a Medusa shortly after. I think the point of this mission is to get the Medusa to shatter all of the enemies however I find it much easier not to depend on such luck. What you are going to want to do it run towards the two sets of Ravens so all 5 crowd around you. Once they are all crowded around you simply hit up on your D-Pad to activate your Horn of Boreas. This will freeze all of the enemies on your first swing and they will all fall to the ground and shatter at the same time.

Challenge #7 - Magic Maker
Objective: Refill your entire Magic Meter.

This one isn't too difficult. What you are going to need to do is defeat enemies and just keep pummeling them until they all release enough blue orbs to completely refill your Magic Meter. I recommend you not use ANY magic unless you really need to as it will just make the process longer then it already is. The enemies in this challenge are all dogs and Medusa but don't worry there are only like 4 or 5 dogs at a clip that really don't do any damage at all and only 1 Medusa at a time. The best odds of getting blue orbs is simply by doing the action sequence on the Medusa. completing the action sequence for the Medusa reward you red and blue orbs each try and freeze the dogs around you, killing a frozen dog may net you some blue orbs sometimes, but grabbing them brings out better odds. Also setting bombs on the dogs using Thera's Bane and killing them by explosion and incineration tends to throw out a few blue orbs. Either way the only real thing you need to look out for as far as dying goes is don't let yourself get frozen, if you do then you will more then likely die really fast. Once your gauge has filled up completely you will receive your trophy.

Challenge #8 - Bone Crusher
Objective: Kill 10 Cursed Remains with grab.

This one isn't difficult at all either. It may seems difficult because when you grab these guys they tend to break apart instead of dying however there is a trick to get it done with one shot per skeleton. What you are going to want to do is hold and press to activate a Hyperion Rush. Rush towards any skeleton and if they make contact Kratos will pick them up and slam them into the ground killing them instantly. Do this to ten skeletons and you will be done with this challenge.

This is laying on the ground after you defeat Callisto. You can pick it up after the cutscene but don't forget to.

Godly Possession #2: Athena's Owl (Located in Temple of Athena)
Once you enter into Temple of Athena you will climb the stairs and see a cutscene. After the cutscene go to the lower right hand corner of the screen. There will be a shining object on the ground behind some pots. This is athena's Owl.

Godly Possession #3: Aphrodite's Ambrosia (Located in Sparta)

Godly Possession #4: The King's Ring (Located in River of Lament)
You will see in the opening cutscene to the River of Lament Thanatos turning a river into gold. Once the cutscene is over, use your Arms of Sparta to knock down a part of the ceiling. Then pull down another section of the ceiling to be able to continue on your way. use the climbable wall to climb up around and back down the gold waterfall. Once you get to the bottom of the waterfall look along the gold river for something shining. This is the King's Ring.

Godly Possession #5: The Bonds of Ares (Located in Death Gate)
As soon as you use the skull of Keres to open up the Death Gate and raise the bridge made of roots, walk inside the opening. After the cutscene walk down the stairs towards the right side of the screen. The Bonds of Ares will be just laying there on the floor.

Godly Possession #6: Grave Digger's Shovel (Located external from the main game)
If you go into Treasures from the Main Menu there will be something called "Temple of Zeus". In this temple you can use red orbs to purchase items for the Combat Arena and other bonuses in the game. You must purchase every last item in this Temple to unlock this Godly Possession. The total amount of Orbs needed to purchase every item in the Temple of Zeus is exactly 1,000,000 Red Orbs. Once you have bought everything a pillar will come up in the middle of the area. You must climb it and do a series of jumps and swings to get up to Zeus' hand. Once there you must turn the crank until the pillar goes down and reveals a set of spiral stairs. Jump down out of Zeus' hand and head down the stairs and into the cave. Grab the shovel laying next to the empty hole dug in the ground.

If you need a method to grind out any remaining orbs please see the Tips & Tricks section of this guide located above the Trophies.

Once you have collected all of the Possessions listed above you will receive your trophy.

Greatest Hits
Execute a 1000-hit combo

There are extremely few and far between places to execute a 1000-hit combo non-the-less even have enough enemies to be able to execute this massive combo.

One spot in which you can obtain this trophy is when you are pit up against the Piraeus Lion in the Jail of Sparta level. You will be pit against this massive behemoth after defeating a set of spiders and a minotaur. Refill your green and blue orbs with the chest in the next area. Once you have filled up take out the beast with any method that fits your style, mine was a head on relentless attack.

Once he is downed a will appear over his head to get you to initiate an action sequences. Instead of activating this sequence keep on relentlessly attacking him. While attacking him he will not stay downed, he will get back up every few seconds but is easily brought back down quickly from your relentless attacks. Keep on top of him because he will move a bit during his time back from being downed. You can use whatever moves you prefer but I highly recommend that you include Thera's Bane into the moves to plant the explosives charges on him to bring him down faster each time he tries to get back up. I found the fastest combo builder was to hold (Block) and hit to do a spinning attack that usually hit for about 12-14 hits each rotation, occasionally hitting once the combo started to add in the Thera's Bane.

Once you get to 1000-hits feel free to initiate the action sequence and relax a bit to let your fingers rest as this is no 2 minute trophy. As long as you hit 1000-hits you will receive the trophy.

OR

Another and much easier way to get the 1000-hit combo is in the Combat Arena. AFTER you have completed the game go Treasures and select the combat arena. Use the following settings here:

Health - Infinite
Magic - Infinite
Costume - Doesn't matter
Backdrop - Doesn't matter
Difficulty - Easy
Creature Slot #1 - "Minotaur", Count = x2, Health = Infinite, Attack = off. and Respawn = on
Creature Slot #2 - "Minotaur", Count = x2, Health = Infinite, Attack = off. and Respawn = on

Once you have those settings, start the Arena. Once you are in the arena simply keep hitting left on your D-pad to use the Scourge of Erinys. The minotaur will not attack you, however they will all walk towards you and surround you. Just keep on hitting the left button on the D-Pad and you will have it in about 2-3 minutes without even having to "work" for it.

Once you get to 1,000 hits the trophy will pop.

Tip from DAVEYHASSELHOFF
If you miss the first opportunity in the Jail, once you get to Deaths Domain, you will come to an area where you need to use Thera's Bane to destroy a conveyor belt on each side of a small hallway to proceed. In this area there will be nonstop respawning skeletons. Use + on the skeletons without using Thera's Bane and with the small hallway you should be able to get the 1000 hits in about 5 minutes or less.

Only One Remains

After your battle with Thanatos has finished and the cutscene plays you will regain control of Kratos and you will be carrying your brother. Once it starts you will receive your trophy.

Zeus May Cry
Finish the game (Hard Mode)

You will receive this trophy right after receiving the Only One Remains IF you played the entire game beginning to end on Spartan (Hard) difficulty.

Overall the game isn't really that bad on hard mode. There may be a few parts that may irritate you but remember, when you die you will respawn from your last checkpoint with a little more health then last time up until you have a little more then half health.

When you find yourself fighting multiple enemies and having a difficult time, keep moving and evading everyones attacks and remember to take advantage of Thera's Bane and your magic.

If you find that certain combos aren't really working for a certain fight, try changing up your pattern a bit for a better effect.

Try to learn patterns of the enemies. Use your deflecting powers to buy you enough attack time when necessary.

In a lot of fights grabbing enemies such as the birds, harpies, and spiders make things a bit easier since you are usually invincible during a grab animation.
