hey i'm stuck, how do you get more b-spec drivers, i'm a-spec level 40 and b-spec 0 :S
B-Spec Driver slots unlock every 5 level up to 25. You will not be able to use more than 2 drivers until level 22 in the extreme mode. As for the 24hr endurance races, I believe it's maximum 3 drivers. Good luck.
I am confused, In the trophe guide, regarding the special events it says what is needed is a minimum of a Bronze trophy in each to complete the event as a whole. In the top gear test track event I have a gold in the first race, a bronze in the second race and a silver in the third race , however the trophy hasnt unlocked. Anyone else had this happen ?
You absolutely need to quit the special events after test track event completed because they give you what the bonus awards are... after accepted, you'll get a trophy in GT Menu.
I'm playing this game again after a long while and noticed some things that are helpful to know but not mentioned in this guide. Feel free to add them to the guide if you deem them useful.
1.) Useful car (mostly for Excellent Driver and Expert Manager)
Once you get level 30 you can do the Sebastian Vettel X Challenges. Getting bronze on each of the three challenges is not so hard and will reward you with the Red Bull X 2010, the probably most performant car in the game. You can use this car on both a-spec and b-spec to win most of the later races including endurance races with ease and grind XP.
2.) XP grinding
At least for b-spec the most time efficient way to grind XP seems to be the 4h Nürburgring endurance race which in combination with 200% online login bonus yields about 1.3 million XP per run.
3.) XP grinding / time based endurance races a-spec
Using a very fast car like Red Bull X 2010 you don't actually have to drive the whole race. For instance on Nürburgring 4h on b-spec my Red Bull X 2010 had always about 39 laps in the end while the other drivers were at 26. This means you can safely drive something like 28 laps and then stop your car few meters before the end of the lap. When the time (in this case four hours) has passed just drive your car over the finishing line to end race as 1st. Of course it'll require to be careful and take care of the time passed.
4.) Rubber band trick for a-spec grinding
You can auto drive on the oval track (I think Indianapolis Superspeedway) in the Like the Wind event. You'll need a USB-keyboard and set it up so that you can press a key to accelerate. Keep this key pressed down with appropriate means like a heavy object and put a rubber band around your controller's left stick so that the car steers slightly to the right. This way you should be able to auto-drive the track. Adjust the rubber band so that the car can still accelerate up to 400km/h on the track to ensure that you'll stay 1st but keep it steering to the right because otherwise the car would hit the wall in a bad angle and crash. The pressed down key should ensure that back in the menu you'll automatically start the race again. I got this tip from a friend and haven't actually tried it yet myself but I still have to grind a-spec from level 33 to 40 and already finished most races with gold so it'll be very useful if it works and I can save a lot of time by keeping it running while I'm going to work.
5.) GT-R Official Record
I heard you have to equip Sports Hard even the trophy descriptions says lower is permitted. If anybody can confirm that it doesn't work on Sports Soft / Medium, it should be noted in the section as then the trophy description would be incorrect. Also it might be worth mentioning that you're not allowed to tune the car, in fact as far as I know you cannot use an untuned car from your garage but have to choose the car from the arcade section. I can confirm it's not working with a tuned car but that your own car does not suffice I have only heard from others and can't confirm it, still there is no reason to use the car from your garage so it might be added as a tip to save people unnecessary effort in case my suspicion is correct.
6.) The Air of Experience
Using the Red Bull X 2010 on Sunday Cup Tsukuba track seems the best option. It has only four laps and takes about 35 seconds per lap with the car. So every 3 1/2 minutes you can start the race again. I did this for the last 40 races I needed for my driver to reach the 500.
