[top]Tips & Strategies

  • You're trying to pass some of the tougher tests and races. If you're stuck using a controller, you must change the control settings so that you use for acceleration, for braking, for upshift and for downshift. Using the triggers gives you better control over your acceleration and braking, & you'll need it.
  • For most tougher races, you'll want to turn Traction Control off. It will require a little more skill to control the car when accelerating out of corners, but once you get it down, you'll be a lot faster without it.
  • Load up the game everyday to take advantage of the increase credit payout from the log-in bonus. Five consecutive days makes the payout increase to 200%. Sign in even if you don't plan on playing the game or it will revert back to normal payout percentage.
  • If your prefered car is over in PPs for a race, you can detune it and/or limit the power output setting to bring it inline with the max PPs for the race.
  • Night races can make it difficult to see the track. Turn up the in-game brightness or your TV's brightness for improved visibility.

Series Champion
Become the overall winner of a championship event.

A championship has a set number of races to compete in awarding points based on final race position. The overall winner of a championship is determined by the total number of points earned through the race series. First place is 100 pts, second place is 75 pts, and third place nets you 60 pts. Be first in overall points at the end of the championship to unlock the trophy. Can easily be done in the "Novice Championship" event under "Novice League".

111 Meters a Second
Break the 249 mph (400km/hr) barrier, in a car not specially provided for an event.

You will need a car pushing in the neighborhood of 650 PP to reach this speed. Most "race cars" (Corvette ZO6 LM Race Car '06, X2010, etc) will do. Upgrade the car as much as you can to make it easier. Head to Free Run and choose any track with long straights, preferably "Special Stage Route X". Hold the accelerator till you reach 249 mph and beyond to unlock the trophy.

Travel 7,903 miles (12,718km) in total - the length of the Autobahn.

You will not get this trophy from playing every event in career. You will have to grind it out. You have two options to explore: you can do it legit or create your own B-Spec driver.
  • Load up "Like the Wind" event under International A class and choose the "Special Stage Route X track". This is an 18.82 mile oval track consisting of two long straights with long wide turns. Run this event if you want to earn some credits.
  • Best way is to auto grind the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in "Free Run" with a Red Bull X2010 or X2011 which will set you back 6 million credits. You will need to set up your controller to auto grind. Depending on how you assigned the button configuration for the accelerator: , , or ; tape or rubberband the stick/button down. Set the steering with tape slightly pulling the to the right. Make sure to turn off driving aids to get the best speed. You want to be running in the 41:xxx lap range or quicker.
  • Turn off the rumble feature and connect the controller to the PS3 to keep it charged.
  • Auto grinding with the Red Bull on the "Special Stage Route X track" is a hit n' miss. The car sometimes likes to crash.

You can see your total mileage driven under the "Stats" tab from the "My Home" screen.

Who's Laughing Now?
Go into the final round of a championship in third place or lower, and emerge as overall champion.

This trophy will require you to manipulate the race positions. You can try doing it legit, but it is much easier putting the championship in your favor.
In championships, you earn points from race standings that decide who is the winner of the championship. 1st place is 100 pts, 2nd place is 75 pts and 3rd gets 60 pts for each race.

Run the "Novice Championship" in the "Novice Class" consisting of three 2 lap races.
  • Race #1 - make your way to 2nd place and push the 1st place car off the road allowing 3rd place to pass. Finish the race in 2nd place.
  • Race #2 - Run this race as normal finishing in 2nd place again. The 1st place car from the last race will now finish 3rd. The 3rd place car will finish 1st this time. You will now be in 3rd place overall with a 150 pts going into the final race. 1st and 2nd place are tied with 160 pts each.
  • Final Race - You must win this race. The other cars race positions do not matter.
  • You are now in 1st place overall with 250 pts with 2nd place trailing behind at 235 pts.
The trophy will unlock at the credit reward screen.

[top]
By the Skin of Your Teeth
Reach the finish line and win with 1% or less of your fuel remaining.

Fuel consumption is only available during the S Class events. Cars are refueled by making pit stops from entering the pit lane located near the start/finish line. Start a race in a car that is faster than the rest of the field. Gain as much distance in front of the second place car as you can and pit when your tires are worn out. Dispense 2-4 liters less fuel than the game recommends. On the last lap you should be close to running out of fuel. The red light at the fuel gauge will come on when the car is at 1% of fuel remaining. If you run out of fuel, the car will still run but restricted to 50mph max on an empty tank. Win the race while the red light is on to unlock the trophy.

An alternative method is to pause the game and restart the race. You must be in first place and the red warning light is on. The trophy will unlock after selecting restart. This way you don't have to worry about pitting and running the full race only to screw up at the end.

[top]
Half a Second Clear
Get a time at least 0.5 seconds faster than the target time in any license test.

You need to record a time .5 secs or faster than the gold time for a license test. Can easily be done in "National B License Test: B-1". You want to turn traction control off for this. Simply hold the accelerator down from start till the rear of the car passes over the 900 meters line. Then, nail the brakes till the car stops.

[top]
It's All in the Wrist
Win a race with a PP limit of 550 or more in a car with at least 50 PP fewer than the race limit.

PP stands for Performance Points. Every car is given a value based on its' overall performance. Modifying a car will increase the car's PP rating. You can also detune and limit the power output to lower PP values. The earliest the trophy can be achieved is during the "National B" class "City Trials" series. These 3 races have a 550 PP limit. Win the race in a car that has 500 PP or less.

[top]
David and Goliath
Win a race with a PP limit of 620 or more in a car with at least 100 PP fewer than the race limit.

PP stands for Performance Points. Every car is given a value based on its' overall performance. Modifying a car will increase the car's PP rating. You can also detune and limit the power output to lower PP values. The earliest the trophy can be achieved is during the "International B" class "Supercar Festival" series. These 3 races have a 630 PP limit. Win the race in a car that has 530 PP or less.

[top]
0.01 Seconds!
Win a race by a margin of 0.01 seconds or less.

You basically need to be "nose to nose" to win by a tenth of a second or less. The blue gap time must be 00:00:010 or less. The time displays at the center of the screen after you cross the finish line. You can also see the margin on the race results screen. This may take several tries unless you're lucky on the first attempt.

Set up a race in arcade mode and set it to one lap. Choose "Indianapolis Motor Speedway" or "Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway" and use a fast car or a courtesy car if you don't have one. At the start, draft the 5th place car and race to 2nd place. Draft behind 1st place through the final turns. Upon exiting the last turn, start overtaking 1st place on the inside. You want to put your car ahead just enough to see the change to 1st place and hold it. Don't get too close to the other vehicle or it will slow down.

[top]
Three Miraculous Laps
Record a lap time that's within 0.2 seconds of the best lap time for three consecutive laps.

For this trophy you will need at minimum 5 laps. You can find an event that has 5 or more laps or do it in arcade mode. It is easier to accomplish in arcade mode. Select "Single Player' from the "My Home" screen and choose Single Race>World Circuits. You can pick "Indianapolis Motor Speedway" or "Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway" courses. Choose beginner difficulty and set the number of laps to infinite.

The first lap will be your slowest. Second lap is where you set the best lap time. The next three consecutive laps is where you try to be within 2 tenths of your best lap time. This may take several laps if the other cars don't interfere with your run. Try to be consistent as possible with your line.
-If you're having trouble you can ride against the wall through the turns. This is another way doing it.

The trophy will unlock while in race when the requirements are met.

[top]
Three of a Kind
Register a lap record where the three digits after the decimal point are the same.

This is based entirely on luck. You will get this at one point in your career. The tenths, hundredths, and thousandths digits need to be the same number. e.g. 1:04:888

[top]
High Flyer
Perform a jump with an air time of a second or more.

Go to "Single Player" from the "My Home" screen and choose Single Race>Original Courses>Eiger Nordwand Short Track. Use a courtesy car and pick the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total '10. As soon as the race starts you will be greeted with a nice hill to jump. Simply accelerate and jump the hill. The trophy should unlock on the first attempt, if not restart the race and try again.

[top]
Trailblazer
Win a non-time-limited race having overtaken a car that is a full lap behind you.

Head to "Single Player' from the "My Home" screen. Choose Single Race>World Circuits>Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway. Pick the courtesy car option and select the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP - Team Peugeot Total '10. Choose "Beginner Race Difficulty" and set the number of laps to 6 or 7. At the "Race Start" screen, select "Driving Options" and change the tires to Racing: Soft. Turn off all driving aids and set ABS to 1.

The race starts with the rolling grid style. Take the first turns smooth and you should overtake first place by the end of the backstretch of lap 1. Continue running the race and you should be close to the last place car by the beginning of lap 6. You should be overtaking the last place car before the end of the backstraight on lap 6, lapping him. Win the race to unlock the trophy.

You can also attempt Three Miraculous Laps while doing this.

[top]
One-Make Wonder Win
Come from behind to win right at the finish line of a one-make race.

One-Make races are available in each class and must be unlocked before you can attempt them. Earning 10 stars in a class unlocks the One-Make race for that class. You must own the car for the race you want to participate in. You are able to slightly modify the car to give you an edge. The field will be running the same car as you are.
To unlock the trophy, stay in second place following the first place car. On the last lap you need to overtake first place just before the finish line. You must make the transition to first while passing over the grid boxes for it to count. It may take several tries to get it.

[top]
Old Dog, New Tricks
Win a race in a car built in 1959 or earlier.

Choose the "Recommended Cars" from the "My Home" screen and click on the "Classics" tab at the bottom right. Purchase the BMW 507 '57 (85,500 credits) or the Mercedes 300 SL Coupe '54 (237,690 credits). You can also use the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Racer Concept '59 which is awarded from earning all golds from the 3rd series of the Goodwood Hillclimb events (3-1, 3-2, 3-3). Simply win a race with one of the aforementioned cars to unlock the trophy.

[top]
Hidden Gem
Bump into the tires painted GT6 blue that sit by the side of one of the tracks.

The tires are only located on the "Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit" track. Start up the track in Free Run under World Circuits. You will start on a ending staight where you are supposed to turn left. Instead, turn right and go under the yellow pedestrian bridge that has "Proud to call Bathhurst home" written on it. There is a wall of white tires just pass the bridge. The stack of blue tires is hiding behind the white tire wall. Drive around the wall and hit the stack to unlock the trophy.

[top]
One Giant Leap
Make a jump of three seconds or more in low-gravity conditions.

This trophy is unlocked during any of the "Lunar Explorations" events. Build up some speed and jump a hill to get the Rover airbourne. Trophy will unlock when you have maintained at least 3 secs in the air.
