[top] Hoff's Path to Platinum

  1. Play through a game on either Easy or Normal. You will have to play through the game on Expert when you are done, so i suggest to just play it on easy and get most of the trophies out of your way early. On this playthrough, focus on getting the majority of the kill with "x" spell trophy out of the way so you can use whatever spells you want on Expert. Also use this run to get all the collectibles except the one you will need Apparition to get.
  2. Play through the game on Expert using NG+. By now you will have a good feel for the game. Concentrate on getting any remaining kill trophies. If you collected all the collectibles on your first playthrough you will only need to collect the first collectible on The Streets of Hogsmeade using Apparate and you will get the Complete Collection trophy. once you have obtained that, the rest of this playthrough can be a speed run. You will need all the collectibles for the Challenge Rooms unlocked to complete the next step, so make sure you collect all the collectibles in this playthrough.
  3. Play through the challenges to get the First Rung, Shining Example and Up to the Challenge trophies.
  4. Use chapter select to clean up any trophies you have left over.
  5. Ding!

[top]Spoiler Warning

This game and this guide will contain MAJOR spoilers for the final Harry Potter movie.

[top]Spell List

  • Stupefy: Stupefy is a stunning spell used to quickly knock down your target. This spell will work on wizards and creatures. If you are a filthy Muggle who is unfamiliar with Harry Potter spells, think of this as your pistol as it fires one shot at a time and isn't overly powerful unless its a head shot.
  • Petrificus Totalus: Petrificus Totalus is a Body Bind Curse that will petrify your target until either someone performs a counter curse to release you, or the wizard who casts it dies. You can zoom in to perform head shots with this curse and will be your Sniper Rifle for long range targets.
  • Expelliarmus: Expelliarmus, is a disarming spell and is widely known as Harry's signature spell. He has used it on more than one occasion against not only Lord Voldemort but also several Death Eaters. In the game, this spell will cause no damage at all to the target, however, this spell will break any enemy's Protego shield with one shot.
  • Confringo: Confringo is an attack spell that will cause anything it hits to explode. This spell is very useful once you obtain it. It's attacks are similar to that of a Rocket Launcher and will cause splash damage to all enemies in the vicinity of the explosion. This spell does have a recharge time which is represented by a blue ring that gradually disappears around your targeting reticule.
  • Expulso: Expulso is very similar to Confringo as it is supposed to cause the object it hits to explode. In the game, however, they have made this spell into your Sub Machine Gun as holding down the will fire a fast stream of spells at the target. This is a very useful spell and can be used for the majority of the game. Make sure you periodically change to different spells as prolonged use of this spell will cause lessened accuracy.
  • Impedimenta: Impedimenta is a jinx that is designed to slow down or completely stop the target. In the game this is one of your most useful spells. Hold the and move the reticule over the targets to highlight them with a small blue light, then press the and this will fire several curses that act like Homing Missiles to take out the targets. This spell does have a recharge time which is represented by a blue ring that gradually disappears around your targeting reticule.
  • Protego: Protego is a shield charm used to block incoming spells. The most advanced wizards will use a nonverbal version of Protego to cast the spell quicker and based on reflexes. They have improved Protego in this game compared to the last game and you will be able to move around while this is cast instead of being stuck in one place. Your Protego can be knocked down over time by multiple smaller spells or one large spell such as Confringo. This can also be used for attack by ramming enemies while your shield is active.
  • Apparition: The ability to Apparate isn't taught until a young wizard is nearing the age of 17 as this is the legal age to obtain a license for Apparition. In the game Apparating can be very useful as you can move from cover to cover in a battle without having to expose yourself by pushing the left stick towards the cover you want to move to and then by pressing you will Apparate to the next set of cover. You can also use Apparition to move next to a target to gain the element of surprise in a battle. The final benefit in the game is you can use Apparation to move past obstacles that would have previously stopped you from gaining access to secrets. Although Harry already knows how to Apparate at the beginning of this part of the movie and book, you will not gain the ability to Apparate until you reach The Battle of Hogwarts on your first playthrough.

Casting From Cover
Defeat an enemy wizard from cover for the first time

This one is NOT story related, but it might as well be considered that. In Gringotts, the very first level, you will be prompted at way points on several occasions to take cover behind small rocks and other various cover by moving next to them and pressing the . From your cover position, for THIS trophy you can either press the to blind fire at your targets while moving the reticule to them and adjusting your aim accordingly, OR you can hold the to aim then press the to fire. As long as you are in cover mode aiming still counts on this trophy. You can tell if you are in cover mode by releasing the while aiming. When you release the button any character you are using will automatically return to their cover position. Your very first kill on any Snatcher, Death Eater or Gringott's Guard will unlock this trophy.

Don't Bank on It
Complete 'Gringotts' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The first chapter of the game, Gringotts will have Harry, Ron and Hermione descending into the depths of Gringott's Wizarding Bank to reach the vault of Bellatrix Lestrange. With the help of Griphook and the Imperius Cursed Bogrod, you shall have no problems gaining entry into one of the most secure vaults in the bank. This first level is more like a tutorial level in which you will learn how to sprint, use cover, use spells and use Protego. There are really no challenging points in this level and at the end you will face the abused Gringott's dragon who is defending the vaults.

When you get to the Dragon, all you need to do is move from cover to cover until the dragon knocks down the pillars trapping you behind your cover. Once this happens, use blind fire to hit the torches in front of him causing them to explode and it will distract him and the level will end. Shooting the torches will also get you the Having a Blast trophy. Your Protego shield will NOT protect you from the Dragon's fire.. This is also an excellent level to get the Not a Scratch trophy.

[top]
Streets of Hogmeade
Complete 'The Streets of Hogsmeade' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The second chapter of the game, The Streets of Hogsmeade, will have Harry, Ron and Hermione Apparate to Hogsmeade. As soon as you arrive in Hogsmeade, alarms will start to go off that have been set up by the Death Eaters notifying them of any after curfew magic. This level will also be the first level in which you will face not only Snatchers but also Death Eaters themselves. You will be able to tell the difference easily. The Snatchers are always dressed shabby and are relatively weaker in both spell casting and defensive abilities. The Death Eaters will be in black robes and are much stronger. The Death Eaters will also use Protego to defend themselves.

The goal of this level is to make your way through the town, which will look abandoned as it is after curfew, to get to Honeydukes so you can use the secret passage to Hogwarts. Make your way through the town to the middle of town and prepare for a Death Eater onslaught. Hold your ground and just before the huge pile of Dementors attack, Aberforth Dumbledore will appear to help you find a place to hide. Watch the cutscene and the level will end as well as the trophy unlocking.

[top]
Snape Sacked
Complete 'A Problem of Security' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The third chapter of the game, A Problem with Security, marks Harry's first return to Hogwarts since the beginning of the Deathly Hallows. You will see that Dumbledore's Army is all gathered together and most have been badly punished or tortured and Neville has emerged as there leader in Harry's absence. There is no exploring in this chapter, this chapter only consists of the showdown battle against Amycus and Alecto Carrow and Headmaster Snape.

The Carrows aren't as difficult as you might think to battle. There are two of them, but there are plenty of tables that you can use for cover. Find a nice cozy place for cover and in between their wand blasts, take your time using Stupefy to damage them. They will use Protego to defend themselves, but you can use Expelliarmus to break their shields. You will notice a green bar at the top right corner that displays their COMBINED health. Once you have taken the health down to under half one of them will fall leaving you with only one to deal with. For this battle they won't charge you so you can just stay behind cover the whole battle till they fall.

Headmaster Snape is more difficult, but nothing major. For this battle you will take over as Professor McGonagall which will unlock the Magical McGonagall trophy. All the tables will be moved to the sides of the Hall so there will be no cover and McGonagall can NOT sprint so you will need to use your Protego wisely on Snape's attacks. Don't be fooled even on easy he is quite strong and if he hits you with a stream of curses you could be close to death very fast. The good news is that you will now have the Expulso spell unlocked and you can use this instead of Stupefy to take his health down very fast. If you use this pattern, you can take him out very fast: Tap Expulso once he appears and he will cast Protego, use Expelliarmus to break his shield, immediately drain his health with Expulso until he Apparates away then repeat the process once he reappears. Occasionally Snape will use Wingardium Leviosa to toss one of the tables at you. When this happens, you will receive a button prompt. Mash on the correct button to toss the table back at Snape causing good damage. Once you get him down to about 1/4 health or so he will Apparate up to the high ledges against the walls in the room. At this point make sure you turn quickly to find him before he can get off a stream of curses at you. Continue your use of Expulso, Protego and Expelliarmus to break his shield and he will retreat when his health bar has been depleted.

After the Snape battle ends, there will be a cutscene and the trophy will unlock.

Pulling Teeth
Complete 'The Basilisk Fang' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The fourth chapter in the game, The Basilisk Fang will have you playing as Hermione as you and Ron navigate the area below Hogwart's on your way to the Chamber of Secrets. At the very beginning of the level you will unlock The Brightest Witch trophy for using Hermione and you will have access to all the spells you've unlocked including Expulso.

It's a pretty slow moving chapter as Ron who has Lumos lit to help light your path moves very slowly for his fear of spiders. That being said, all your enemies in this level will be fairly good sized Black Widows. Nothing like the size of an Acromantula, but they can be a nuisance when they swarm. Throughout the mission, Ron never attacks so it is your job to protect him as the spiders will try and attack him. Also there will be three instances when you must protect Ron while he opens the doors but this is also easy.

At the end of the level after Hermione destroys the the Horcrux, you will need to run with Hermione to escape the chamber. During your running, pay attention to the debris being launched in the air and quickly move to dodge it. The debris seems to follow a pretty set pattern and you have plenty of time for maneuvers so nothing crazy. Once you have finished this section the level will end and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Burning Bridges
Complete 'A Job to Do' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The fifth chapter in the game, Burning Bridges, is focused around Neville, Seamus and part of the D.A. as you and your group are trying to prevent the Snatchers and Death Eaters from gaining access to Hogwart's over the wooden covered bridge. You will start out playing as Seamus which will immediately unlock the Boom! trophy and you will need to navigate under the bridge on the ground to plant 6 magical charges designed to knock down the bridge in a last resort. This is very straight forward as you proceed in a switchback manner down to the bottom taking out Death Eaters and Snatchers on the way while planting. You will also gain the ability to use Confringo during this section.

Once all 6 charges have been planted, you will take control of Neville back on the bridge and it will immediately unlock the Got it Covered trophy. From your stationary position you will need to cover Seamus as he makes his way back to your side of the bridge on the ground below. For this long distance cover, you will gain the ability to use Petrificus Totalus. Alternate between Petrificus Totalus, Confringo and the occasional Expelliarmus when they put up shields and protect Seamus until he gets back to safety.

Now you will have control over Neville and there will be a large hoarde of Death Eaters and Snatchers that will be trying to advance over the bridge. They aren't terribly difficult but if you get into trouble make good use of the cover and your Protego to stay safe. Your job is to keep them from making it all the way across the bridge. Take them out, then you will have another running sequence as the bridge explodes. In this sequence, however, in this sequence you will be being chased by Scabior who is trying to hit you with spells. Use Expulso, the default spell to cast curses back at him while running forward and avoiding the obstacles. Everytime you hit him, he will fall further back and eventually get caught in the explosion and the level will end and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
The Bigger They Are...
Complete 'A Giant Problem' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The sixth chapter in the game, The Bigger They Are... consists of the protection of the main entrance to Hogwarts by keeping the Giants from making it all the way across the bridge. You will take control of Professor McGonagall and you will have help from the statue guards of the castle as they slow down the incoming Giants. At the top right corner of the screen is a green meter that shows their health. You will also gain Impedimenta to use in this level and it is quite useful.

The first Giant doesn't do anything special. Just keep a good distance from him and continuously pound him with Impedimenta and Confringo to deplete his health. That being said, you will have to deal with several waves of Death Eaters at the same time so make good use of Impedimenta for maximum targeting. Once his health has depleted all the way, he will stagger and you will need to hit him with an Impedimenta to knock him off the bridge.

The second Giant is more of the same, BUT this giant thinks he is extremely funny and will occasionally throw large boulders at you. Between the boulders and the Death Eaters it does represent a good challenge. When you see the Death Eaters appear try and hit them both with an Impedimenta as these Death Eaters will use Crucio on you and you will die very fast, especially on the Hard difficulty if they get a chance to attack. You can try and move out of the boulder's way, but McGonagall is slow and can't dodge well. Instead use Protego when a boulder comes at you to defend yourself. It will knock down your shield in one hit, but you won't sustain any damage. Use the same method as the first Giant to finish off the second quickly then prepare for the quick time button pressing the sneaky muggle game developers try to sneak at you. After you finally defeat the Giant the short level ends and the trophy unlocks.

[top]
Lost and Found
Complete 'The Lost Diadem' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The seventh chapter in the game, The Lost Diadem, puts you back in control of Harry along with Ron and Hermione. You will be navigating the Room of Requirement as you battle Draco, Goyle and Blaise who takes the place of Crabbe who sadly was dropped from the movie because of some "alleged" legal issues. This level is straight forward, no boss battles, and no great difficulty. There will be a few occasions when Goyle takes cover in some Furniture Bunkers while firing several Jinxes at you. In these instances use a few Confringo spells to blow up the bunker and move on. There will also be a few times when you will need to take cover and battle the trio until they retreat to move on.

Once you have progressed to the end, Goyle will cast Fiendfyre at you. This was actually changed from the book from the loss of Crabbe in the final movie. In the book, it was Crabbe who cast this spell. The bad part is, he never learned how to control the spell and it is very powerful dark magic and in doing so he sets the entire Room of Requirement on fire. Now you face another running part. Run from the fire and be ready as the fire will cause explosions of furniture to be thrown at you. When this happens, look for the blue colored furniture and use Impedimenta to highlight it and take it all out in one shot. Race to the end of the room and the level will end and the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Hogwarts Burning
Complete 'The Battle of Hogwarts' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The eight chapter in the game, The Battle of Hogwarts, takes place during the climax of the battle. You play as Harry with Ron and Hermione as usual, and you need to get to the boathouse to find Nagini and Voldemort. Follow the path and when you get to the rooftops, you will gain the ability to Apparate which is very useful. Fight your way down the very bottom and into the outside of the school and you will encounter Fenrir Greyback who is about to make a snack out of Lavender.

You will now take control of Hermione to put an end to this disgusting creature once and for all. Greyback will attack like everyone else, with the exception that he likes to Apparate around the battle a lot and he will almost always use Protego once he reappears. other than that this is a very easy battle. at every quarter increment he will have the aid of some Snatchers who come to help him, but they can be easily dispatched with the Impedimenta spell all at once. I recommend a steady attack of Expelliarmus, Confringo and Expulso to make quick work of the wolf.

Once that battle ends you will regain control of Harry as you move down the steps outside to the boathouse. Follow the steps and us Impedimenta to take out the hoarde of Death Eaters that try and stand in your way. Once you get to the bottom the level ends and the trophy unlocks.

[top]
Familiar Faces
Complete 'Surrender' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The ninth chapter of the game, Surrender, gives you control of Harry after watching the vision you acquired from Snape in the Pensieve. Your goal is to get to the Forbidden Forest. This level shouldn't take you any longer than a couple minutes. The only battle for this level is crossing the bridge. That being said almost all the Death Eaters on the bridge will use Crucio and they will attack in a horde. I recommend taking them out with Impedimenta to quickly dispatch the majority of them, then cleanup the rest with other spells. Once you get to the end of the bridge, the Death Eaters will stop attacking but will continue to taunt you all the way down the hill. Once you get to the bottom of the hill, the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Change of Plans
Complete 'A Turn of Events' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The tenth chapter of the game. A Turn of Events, will have you take control of several characters as you lead up to the climax of the game. First you will start out as Harry and must battle Lord Voldemort in the main courtyard with everyone watching. Voldemort can be powerful, but this battle isn't too difficult. On offense he will not use Protego to deflect your attacks, so you will have no need for Expelliarmus in this battle. He can, however, absorb the energy from your attacks and use it to launch a very powerful counter attack at you. I suggest a healthy trifecta of Impedimenta, Confringo and Expulso to keep him on the defense. On defense, his magic is powerful enough to break your Protego in one hit and will momentarily stun you as it knocks you back, so I suggest not even bothering with it unless you really need it. You can hide behind the cover, but he will destroy it if you wait there too long. I recommend to just keep him on the defense with a quick stream of spells. If he does get away from you and start casting curses at you, use your Apparition ability with the to move out of their way and continue your attacks.

Once you have finished his health the chase scene begins. This as actually quite easy, just make sure you continue to shoot the highlighted targets to knock damage into his path so you can stay away from him. If this is your first playthrough on easy try and get the Care of the Castle trophy out of the way during this chase.

After you have escaped the chase you will take control of Ron, which will immediately unlock the Best Friend trophy. Your goal is for you and Hermione to reach the top of the main staircase as you guys hunt for Nagini. This is very straightforward and apart from the final push up the stairs, there aren't even very many Death Eaters or Snatchers to deal with. Once you have reached the waypoint at the top of the stairs the level ends and the trophy unlocks.

[top]
Motherly Love
Complete 'Not My Daughter' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The eleventh chapter of the game, Not My Daughter, will start you out in control of Ginny as you try and defend the front gates of Hogwarts from the Death Eaters in an attempt to give Harry more time to battle Voldemort. As soon as the level starts you will unlock the Defiant Daughter trophy. This battle consists of several waves of Death Eaters and Snatchers that you must repel. Think of this part as an arena battle. The easiest thing to do for this battle is to take up cover back by the door, and use Impedimenta, Confringo and Petrificus Totalus until you have finished off the level. If you take up cover too far into the middle, you will eventually get over run as they will begin to spawn behind you, so just find a cozy sport by the door.

Once that section ends you be inside the Great Hall, and you will take control over Molly as you battle Bellatrix which will unlock the final character trophy Stay Away From Her. This part in the book and movie are fantastic as we finally get to see the power that lies inside the motherly Molly Weasley as she has been pushed into rage to protect her family. Bellatrix is much faster than the other bosses you have battled to this point. I recommend using Expulso and Expelliarmus on her when you need it. Other than that, keep an eye on her Apparating trails and keep her on the defensive. If she gets a quick shot of Crucio on you, don't hesitate to toss up a Protego as she can drain your health very fast. Once you have defeated her the level ends and the trophy unlocks.

[top]
It's All Come Down to This...
Complete 'Voldemort's Last Stand' on any difficulty

This is a story based trophy.

The final chapter of the game, Voldemort's Last Stand, is the climax of all the games and movies of all the Harry Potter series. This is the final duel between Harry and Lord Voldemort. This battle consists of two parts, both easy. The first part has you battling Voldemort up in the rafters in the school. You will be on a narrow walkway, with really no room for dodging so you need to man up and take the fight to him. For this battle use Impedimenta, Confringo and Pertrificus Totalus to cause maximum damage and keep him moving. Once you take off a quarter of his health, he will scream at you, very Gollum like IMO, then Apparate to a new location. You will follow him and the battle continues. Continue your pattern of spells and at the fourth location you will finally deplete all his power. When this happens run up to him to watch another cutscene.

After the cutscene, the battle continues in the main courtyard in front of everyone. For this part you need to use the control stick to keep the big bright ball on Voldemort to push his Avada Kedavra curse back to him. He will at some point try and make his spell stronger, but just continue with your persistence and he will fall quickly and the trophy will unlock as the game ends.

Covert Confidence
Defeated 100 enemy wizards from cover

During your gameplay you can take cover behind pretty much everything. Large rocks and broken pillars on the ground, doorways and walls, and other various destroyed objects. The easiest way to see if you can take cover by something is to press by it and see if it works. The easiest way to accomplish this trophy is to use the cover system a lot. If you use the cover system in most battles you will most likely unlock this around The Battle of Hogwarts. If you are having trouble, your kills will carry over to the next runthrough with the NG+ feature. Once you have defeated 100 enemy wizards from cover, either aiming, not aiming or a nice mixture of both, the trophy will unlock

Blind Luck
Defeated 10 enemy wizards from cover, without aiming

During your gameplay you can take cover behind pretty much everything. Large rocks and broken pillars on the ground, doorways and walls, and other various destroyed objects. The easiest way to see if you can take cover by something is to press by it and see if it works. From your cover position, for THIS trophy you will need to press the to blind fire at your targets while moving the reticule to them and adjusting your aim accordingly. You cannot use the to aim first and still unlock this trophy. The easiest way to accomplish this trophy is to use the cover system a lot. You can unlock this trophy very early in the game and then never have to worry about Blind Fire again. Simply defeat the first 10 enemy wizards you can actually hit with Blind Fire in the Gringotts level and the trophy will unlock.

Wizard in Training
Completed the game on Normal

This is the Easy difficulty for the game. I recommend starting the game on this difficulty to unlock all the spells and learn the game for your Expert difficulty run. All damage is minimal to you, unless they are using Crucio or Petrificus Totalus. Once you have finished the game on this difficulty the trophy will unlock at the credits. The difficulty trophies are stackable so this will unlock if you start the game on Normal.

[top]
Accomplished Wizard
Completed the game on Expert

This is the Hard difficulty for the game. You must finish the game on either Normal or Advanced first to unlock this difficulty. For this difficulty the enemies attacks are much stronger and can take you out very fast if you don't play smart. Once you have finished the game you will be playing this under NG+ so you will have access to all your magic from the very beginning of the game so that helps. Unfortunately you will lose the Auto Aim feature for your spell casting on Expert, but the Impedimenta spell more than makes up for that with it's Homing ability. make good use of your cover and stick to the big three spells, Impedimenta, Confringo and Petrificus Totalus and you shouldn't have too much trouble with this difficulty. The difficulty trophies are stackable so this will unlock the Normal difficulty trophy when you beat the game as well, if you started on Easy.

[top]
Mastering Magic
Completed the game on Advanced

This is the normal difficulty for the game. The difficulty trophies are stackable so this will unlock on your Expert playthrough if you started on Easy. This will unlock once you complete the game on either Advanced or Expert.

[top]
Protego!
Used Protego against 100 spells

You will gain the ability to use the Protego shield charm inside of the first chapter, Gringotts. Once you have this you will find it to be a very useful spell. Holding the will allow you to block unfriendly spells while still being able to move around. You will have no need to farm this trophy as you will probably unlock the trophy before you are finished with Gringotts. You will gain a lot towards this trophy from the guards that shoot the massive streams of curses at you as every one of the spells count towards the 100 you need. Remember that the more spells hit your shield, the smaller it gets until it breaks. As soon as you have blocked 100 incoming spells with your shield the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Expelliarmus!
Successfully dispelled 100 Protego shields with Expelliarmus

You will gain the ability to use Expelliarmus in the second chapter, The Streets of Hogsmeade. Expelliarmus, causes no damage to an enemy but it will break an enemies Protego shield with one shot. The Death Eaters are the only ones who use the Protego shield, and there will be plenty of them to battle. Anytime you see one put up a shield tap the and take out their shield. 100 seems like a large number, but your stats will carry over to your next playthrough on NG+, so you should have no problems getting this trophy by the end of your second playthrough, unless you go out of your way to never use it. As soon as you break 100 Protego Shields with this spell the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Petrificus Totalus!
Successfully paralysed 100 enemy wizards using Petrificus Totalus

You will gain the ability to use Petrificus Totalus in the fifth chapter, Burning Bridges, when you take over as Neville. Petrificus is your sniper rifle. Hold down the to zoom in with the aim then press the to fire. Snatchers will die in one hit from this spell, but most Death Eaters will take two unless you hit them in the head. 100 seems like a large number, but your stats will carry over to your next playthrough on NG+, so you should have no problems getting this trophy by the end of your second playthrough, unless you go out of your way to never use it. As soon as you paralyze 100 WIZARDS, this doesn't count against spiders or Giants, with this spell the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Expulso!
Defeated 100 enemy wizards with Expulso

You will gain the ability to use Expulso in the third chapter, A Problem with Security, when you take over as Professor McGonagall. Expulso is your SMG. Hold down the to aim then hold the to fire. The longer you hold the button, however, the worse your accuracy will get. 100 seems like a large number, but your stats will carry over to your next playthrough on NG+, so you should have no problems getting this trophy by the end of your second playthrough, unless you go out of your way to never use it. As soon as you defeat 100 WIZARDS, this doesn't count against spiders or Giants, with this spell the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Confringo!
Defeated 100 enemy wizards with Confringo

You will gain the ability to use Confringo in the fifth chapter, Burning Bridges, when you take over as Seamus. Confringo is your Rocket Launcher. Hold down the to aim then press the to fire. You don't have to be overly accurate with this spell as it has blast damage and will hit any Death Eaters or Snatchers in the vicinity. As soon as you defeat 100 WIZARDS, this doesn't count against spiders or Giants, with this spell the trophy will unlock.

Magical McGonagall

Now You See Me
Apparated over 100 metres

You will gain the ability to Apparate in the eight chapter, The Battle of Hogwarts. Apparating can be very useful as you can move from cover to cover in a battle without having to expose yourself by pushing the left stick towards the cover you want to move to and then by pressing you will be Apparated to the next set of cover. You can also use Apparition to move next to a target to gain the element of surprise in a battle. The final benefit in the game is you can use Apparation to move past obstacles that would have previously stopped you from gaining access to secrets. This trophy is for a cumulative amount of Apparition travel. You don't need to travel 100 metres all at once. Once you get this spell you should have no problem with this trophy from just your normal Apparating in cover at the game. Your distance will also be carried over to your NG+ playthrough and you will have this ability available from Chapter 2 for the rest of the game. As soon as you hit 100 total metres traveled the trophy will unlock.

[top]
Strategic Spell Casting
Defeated 50 enemy wizards using more than one spell

This trophy you will get without trying on your way to the Expelliarmus! trophy. Anytime you hit an enemy wizard with more than one spell it will count towards this trophy. So if you hit a group with Confringo, but some of them don't die and you finish the rest with another spell it counts towards this trophy. The same goes for the use of Expelliarmus to destroy a shield followed by another spell. As soon as you defeat 50 wizards with a spell combo this trophy will unlock.

[top]
The Best Defence
Used Protego to defeat 20 enemy wizards at close range

Once you acquire Protego in the Gringotts level you can begin working on this trophy. This trophy is extremely easy, but I recommend doing it on the Easy difficulty of your first playthrough. Press and hold the to cast Protego, then ram a Snatcher or Death Eater with the shield and they will either die, or get knocked down. The harder Death Eaters will require you to hit them with your shield more than once for them to die and count towards this trophy. now this being said, be warned, if you run into an enemies Protego the same will happen. As soon as you defeat 20 wizards with your Protego shield this trophy will unlock.

[top]
Back to You...
Defeated 10 enemy wizards with Protego deflections

This is one of those trophies that if you didn't know about, you would probably never even try to do. When an enemy casts a curse at you, if you time your Protego properly and cast it just before you get hit, you will deflect the curse back at the enemy. This only works on smaller spells, such as Stupefy, Expulso and Crucio and will not work against spells such as Petrificus Totalus or Confringo. This will also only work against the first spell that hits your shield so it might take some work on your timing. I recommend getting this trophy out of the way on your easy difficulty so you don't take as much damage while raising and dropping your shield to get these kills. As soon as you defeat 10 wizards be deflecting their curses back at them the trophy will unlock.

[top]
That Showed Them
Defeated 4 enemy wizards with a Confringo cast

Hopefully you will accidentally unlock this trophy on your own and have no need to farm this trophy. Once you have the Confringo spell available you can begin trying this. You can get this on any level, however, anything past the Gringotts level and you will be dealing with Death Eaters who use Protego. Because of this I recommend getting this either on your NG+ or by using chapter select during cleanup on Easy difficulty. Now more often than not, one of them is always wise enough in the group to put up a Protego so they don't all die from the Confringo spell and prevent your trophy. In addition to that there are very few points in the game that have 4 enemy wizards close together enough to get this trophy.

The best place to get this trophy is in Gringotts , after you defend Hermione while she opens the magically sealed door you will come down a path and be ambushed by some guards and there will be an open vault that contains the Character:Scabior collectible. After you take out the Crucio casting guards on the high ledges, hold down the and sprint towards down the path until you see the group of 4 guards appear in front of you. Wait for them to appear and cast a Confringo into the group. If you are lucky you will hit them all with it and the trophy will unlock. This may take several tries and if you try it on the Expert difficulty the guard in back will usually not die in one hit.

[top]
Stopped in their Tracks
Defeated 5 enemy wizards with one Impedimenta cast

Hopefully you will accidentally unlock this trophy on your own and have no need to farm this trophy. Once you have the Impedimenta spell available you can begin trying this. You can get this on any level, however, anything past the Gringotts level and you will be dealing with Death Eaters who use Protego. Because of this I recommend getting this either on your NG+ or by using chapter select during cleanup on Easy difficulty. Now more often than not, one of them is always wise enough in the group to put up a Protego so they don't all die from the Impedimenta spell and prevent your trophy. In addition to that there are very few points in the game that have 5 enemy wizards Pop out all at the same time.

The best place for this trophy is also in Gringotts. After you reach the point when you are on the wooden bridge protecting Ron and Hermione below, the guards will eventually destroy the bridge you are standing on. Once this happens, you will see a lone guard running away. Instead of killing him, hold down the and chase him and at the next area there will be a horde of guards that appear. lock on to them all with Impedimenta, should be 6-7 and if you kill at least 5 the trophy will unlock.

[top]
A Good Offence
Defeated 10 enemy wizards before they cast a spell

This is a trophy you will most likely get on the Gringotts level without even trying. Whenever an enemy wizard appears, immediately start blasting away with whatever spell you have available at the time. If you can defeat them before they cast their first spell it will count towards your trophy. This is actually easier in the beginning with spells like Stupefy and Expulso as they cast so fast the enemy doesn't usually have time to setup like they would with a slower moving Confringo or Impedimenta. As soon as you defeat 10 enemy wizards before they cast a spell the trophy will unlock.

Getting There
Defeated 500 enemy wizards in the Main Story OR Challenges

[top]
Hogwarts Defender
Defeated 1000 enemy wizards in the Main Story OR Challenges

Don't let the number of wizards you must defeat for this trophy scare you away. You should unlock the Getting There trophy around the ninth chapter, Surrender. This trophy is cumulative and you DO NOT need to acquire 1000 kills all in one playthrough. All your stats will carry over into NG+ and depending on if you do the Challenges before your second playthrough, the kills in the Challenges count towards this trophy as well. If you go straight into the 2nd playthrough, you should unlock this trophy sometime around the second chapter, The Streets of Hogsmeade or even during Gringotts

Not a Scratch
Completed a level without being defeated

This is much more simple than it sounds. On the Easy difficulty it is very hard to die on this game, especially on the early levels. The best place for this trophy is the Gringotts level. There aren't very many enemies, there is a lot of cover and none of the enemies are especially difficult. If you are having trouble, simply replay this level on Easy, after you finish the game and the unlocked Advanced Spells will make this a cake walk. Just remember the Dragon fire will kill you in one hit even on Easy, so make sure you avoid it for the easy trophy.

[top]
Up to the Challenge
Completed all challenges

There are a total of 12 Challenges in the game, one for each level you play. These will NOT be available from the beginning of the game. You must find the collectibles that unlock them during the story mode before you can play them. Once you find one it is available to play from the Challenges menu. Now even though they are unlocked, I recommend waiting until you have completed the game once before playing them. Completing the game on any difficulty will allow you to use all of your spells in the challenge rooms, and not just level specific spells. The Challenges have a time limit to complete them and have time rankings for Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

For this trophy you only need to simply complete all 12 challenges at Bronze level or higher. For strategy help with the Challenges please see the Shining Example trophy below.

Shining Example
Completed all challenges at Gold standard

There are a total of 12 Challenges in the game, one for each level you play. These will NOT be available from the beginning of the game. You must find the collectibles that unlock them during the story mode before you can play them. Once you find one it is available to play from the Challenges menu. Now even though they are unlocked, I recommend waiting until you have completed the game once before playing them. Completing the game on any difficulty will allow you to use all of your spells in the challenge rooms, and not just level specific spells. The Challenges have a time limit to complete them and have time rankings for Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

For this trophy you need to complete all 12 challenges at Gold level or higher. Now that being said, the game will help you out. The game offers bonuses depending on your performance that will either reduce or increase your finishing time ti help you gain those pesky Gold Medals. here are the bonuses:
  • Accuracy - If I have to explain Accuracy, go play Hannah Montana: -1 second per 1% accuracy
  • Knockdowns - This is when YOU are killed: +10 seconds per 1 time knocked down
  • Spell Combos - This is by using more than one spell to kill an enemy: -5 seconds per 1 Combo
  • Quick Stuns - This is killing any enemy before they can their first spell: -2 seconds per 1 quick stun

Obviously the most beneficial of these is the Spell Combo bonus so try and use this as much as you can. Now in addition to these, you want to try to not die. Not only is there a penalty or being knocked down, when you start at the checkpoint, you will start at your same time as your death. You will not need to compete against anyone or place in any spot on the leaderboards for this trophy either. Below are some tips that should help you out on your trophy.

Challenge 1: Gringotts
  • Challenge Times:
    • 7:30
    • 9:30
    • 11:30
    • 11:30+

  • Strategy: This is the entire first level. Not really a lot too this one. Use sprint as much as you can and try and gain some spell combo bonuses on the guards. Remember to be patient on the Dragon part so you don't suffer Knockdown penalties.

Challenge 2: The Streets of Hogsmeade
  • Challenge Times:
    • 7:00
    • 9:00
    • 12:00
    • 12:00+

  • Strategy: This is the entire second level. Again, nothing difficult, you should gain a good amount of Spell Combos just from the Death Eaters casting Protego and finish this with plenty of time to spare.

Challenge 3: A Problem with Security
  • Challenge Times:
    • 2:30
    • 4:00
    • 6:00
    • 6:00+

  • Strategy: This battle is only against Snape and excludes the Carrows. Use your same technique of Expulso tap so he casts Protego, followed by Expelliarmus and Confringo or Expulso until he Apparates away, then repeat to finish him quickly

Challenge 4: The Basilisk Fang
  • Challenge Times:
    • 10:30
    • 12:30
    • 15:00
    • 15:00+

  • Strategy: This one is actually quite difficult because Ron moves so goddamned slow. You can't run too far ahead of Ron or he will just stop. On this one you really need to concentrate on getting Spell Combos. I recommend using some quick stupefies to get a quick hit on each spider, then a Protego to finish them to count as your 2 spell combo. These combos can mean the difference in the end for your final score so that you can stay in at least gold or higher. Also when he finally opens the door to the Chamber of Secrets, you don't need to wait for him, just sprint to the end. You do NOT have to do the chase sequence.

Challenge 5: A Job to Do
  • Challenge Times:
    • 5:20
    • 7:00
    • 9:30
    • 9:30+

  • Strategy: This one only consists of the planting of the bombs by Seamus. That being said, it can take a while to clear out the Death Eaters to be allowed to progress. make sure they are all dead in each section to prevent being ambushed and use a heavy does of Confringo and Impedimenta to clear them out quickly.

Challenge 6: A Giant Problem
  • Challenge Times:
    • 2:40
    • 4:00
    • 6:00
    • 6:00+

  • Strategy: This one is actually quite easy. Use the spell trifecta of Impedimenta, Petrificus Totalus and Confringo to quickly take out the Giants and finish off the Death Eaters on the bridge. Get a good spell casting rhythm alternating those three and just keep at it.

Challenge 7: The Lost Diadem
  • Challenge Times:
    • 2:40
    • 3:30
    • 6:00
    • 6:00+

  • Strategy: This one is very hard, because pinche Ron and Hermione take so much time talking to each other. Try and memorize where the waypoints will appear so you can be standing on them when they finally do to save some time. Other than that, sprint from area to area a lot and follow the same strategy as the game. You will not need to do the chase scene with the Fiendfyre at the end.

Challenge 8: The Battle of Hogwarts
  • Challenge Times:
    • 8:20
    • 9:30
    • 12:00
    • 12:00+

  • Strategy: This will consist of the beginning of the level and will end before your battle with Greyback. This one is straightforward, just make sure you use the cover and be careful to not got knocked down so you don't lose time.

Challenge 9: Surrender
  • Challenge Times:
    • 0:50
    • 3:00
    • 5:00
    • 5:00+

  • Strategy: This one is very easy, take the Death Eaters out on the bridge, then sprint from the last set all the way to the waypoint.

Challenge 10: A Turn of Events
  • Challenge Times:
    • 2:00
    • 3:30
    • 6:00
    • 6:00+

  • Strategy: This challenge represents the section where you battle to the top of the main stairs playing as Ron. Take your time, especially on last section and make sure you take out all incoming Death Eaters and Snatchers at each section before moving up the stairs to avoid being overwhelmed,

Challenge 11: Not My Daughter
  • Challenge Times:
    • 6:20
    • 7:40
    • 9:30
    • 9:30+

  • Strategy: This challenge is the outside battle as Ginny, you will not need to fight Bellatrix. Use your same strategy as the story level by using Confringo, Impedimenta and Explelliarmus to quickly make it through this challenge.

Challenge 12: Voldemort's Last Stand
  • Challenge Times:
    • 2:40
    • 3:30
    • 6:00
    • 6:00+

  • Strategy: This final battle is actually the battle that takes place at the beginning of Chapter 10 in the game. This one is really easy if you go on an Offensive Attack by using Confringo, Petrificus Totalus and Impedimenta against Voldemort. If you spend the battle nancing around the courtyard hiding and shit you probably won't make the gold standard. Bodigard finished in :16 seconds. I challenge someone to do better....make sure you taunt him if you do

[top]
Having a Blast
Triggered 5 explosive reactions

This one isn't really a story trophy, but I don't really see anyway to not get this just from the regular story events. At the end of the Gringotts chapter, you will face off against the Dragon who guards the most secure vaults. After you reach the middle pillar you will then need to shoot the torches that are in front of him to distract him to move on in the game. When you shoot one it will cause a reaction that makes them all blow up and the trophy will unlock since there are at least 5 torches.

Care of the Castle
Escaped Voldemort with minimal damage to Hogwarts

This will take place in Chapter 10, A Turn of Events. After the battle outside with Voldemort, he will being chasing you. You must run from him while casting spells at breakable objects highlighted in Hogwarts to slow him down. If he catches you it's game over. Now at first I thought this trophy was going to be a pain, but it really isn't. Try and get this during your first playthrough as it is much easier on Easy difficulty as opposed to Hard. If you don't get it for some reason, wait until you are doing cleanup, then use chapter select on Easy.

The Key to this trophy is the Torches. The torches are perfectly spaced throughout this chase that if you shoot them, it will not only slow him up, but there is so few of them you will get the trophy. Leave all the other objects alone and just shoot the torches and at the end of the chase sequence the trophy will unlock.

First Rung
Completed your first challenge

There are a total of 12 Challenges in the game, one for each level you play. These will NOT be available from the beginning of the game. You must find the collectibles that unlock them during the story mode before you can play them. Once you find one it is available to play from the Challenges menu. Now even though they are unlocked, I recommend waiting until you have completed the game once before playing them. Completing the game on any difficulty will allow you to use all of your spells in the challenge rooms, and not just level specific spells. The Challenges have a time limit to complete them and have time rankings for Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.

For this trophy you only need to simply complete one Challenge at Bronze level or higher. For strategy help with the Challenges please see the Shining Example trophy below.
