Big Red Button
Go ballistic... Use your first nuke!
This will probably be one of the first trophies you get. Nuke power-ups are red and black, and are triggered with
Collect components to complete a megalaser
You need to collect four of the black and gray megalaser power-ups to complete it. Once you do, use the right analog stick to use it. A yellow meter will appear in the upper right corner of the screen to indicate how much energy you have left. Once it depletes, you're back to using standard firepower.
Stand together with another player to complete one mission
This can only be accomplished offline, so grab a buddy to play through a level using a second controller. You can get this trophy by yourself if you have another controller, but you need to make sure to destroy some enemies and accumulate a decent amount of points as Player 2. Simply letting the Player 2 tank sit there will not earn you the trophy.
Play online with three other players for at least one minute
Self explanatory. If you're having trouble finding other players, you can either create your own room and wait for three other players, or invite some friends to join. Alternately, joining a random game will usually pair you with the required amount of players. The trophy will unlock after the session is complete.
Take a tour of each Red Star Country and trash the place! Complete the first 9 missions.
From the "Deploy!" screen, choose Mission mode and play through it normally. The trophy will unlock after the ninth stage has been completed.
Amass 5,000,000 points
You'll earn this trophy easily as you play through Mission mode, and you should reach the required score amount before clearing the first stage of nine missions. The trick to getting more points is destroying as many enemies as possible on each stage, and doing so without dying. Focus on upgrading your offensive weapons first and grabbing as many shield power-ups as you can (these will allow you to sustain a few hits without losing a life). After you clear the first nine missions, start upgrading the protective orbs that circle your tank - they are a life saver when you reach levels 16 and onward.
Cockroach of Freedom
Withstand eight minutes of the Red Star onslaught in any survival game.

Complete 9 missions without nukes or reinforcements
My advice here is to start on the very first mission and work you way up. If you don't receive the trophy after the ninth mission, keep playing. I didn't get the trophy until after the tenth mission was complete. To clarify, "reinforcements" are your total lives, so you can't die while attempting this. Also, you are allowed to pick up any nukes that are dropped, so long as you don't use them. Keep your finger away from
so you don't accidentally hit it.
Dispel the enemies of liberty. Finish mission mode.
There are 19 missions in total to clear in order to get this trophy. Missions 10 through 18 are rehashes of missions 1 through 9, only with more enemies and slight variations of the original bosses. You can use pretty much the same strategies in the last half of missions as you did in the first half, as things aren't that different. The boss in mission 19 can be a pain, as you will have to do a lot of dodging in between battling it in its three phases, so use any stored nukes to make matters easier.
Freedom's Last Stand
Defeat all 19 Red Star Champions in Boss Blitz Mode.
Boss Blitz mode will unlock after you beat Mission mode in its entirety. Having already faced every boss before, this shouldn't be too difficult. You are given power-ups prior to each encounter that you would have normally earned in Mission mode, so fight each boss the same way you did the first time around. Remember that you need to beat every boss without dying, so use any nukes you've picked up wisely.
Champion of Freedom
Survive 12 minutes of the enemy's attack in any survival game.
If you're confident in your abilities you can get this trophy by playing Survival mode solo. The less stressful alternative is playing online with a group of people; the more firepower, the better. The first 5-6 minutes are relatively easy, and are basically a warm-up for what's to come. Afterward, expect tons of resistance as the challenge seriously ramps up. Here are some tips to help you get through and survive:
- Try and take out any tanks and jeeps that appear on ground level first; otherwise they will hinder you moving from side to side without taking a hit or two.
- Only use nukes when you really need to. They will instantly help you out of a jam, and should only be resorted to if you are getting swarmed and your regular weapons aren't helping much.
- Stay relatively in the middle of the screen. You have more room to maneuver this way, and won't be blind-sided if a ground enemy appears.
- When the huge atom bomb-dropping aircraft start appearing, make them your first priority in destroying. If you let their bombs hit the ground, it's game over. Use a nuke to destroy them or one of their bombs if you're out of reach and can't get to it in time.
- Remember that the longer you survive, the more difficult things become. Not only will you be facing more enemies, but you'll also be facing more of the harder and larger enemies, many times in groups. It will get to a point where things become too hectic and you will die, so don't take it personally.
Destroy 10 enemies with a single nuke.
You have a few options here. You can get this solo on any of the higher missions (16 through 19), as you are dealing with more enemies at one time. Alternately, you can have a friend join you in the later levels, as adding a second player increases the amount of total enemies. The quickest way though, is to go for this while attempting the "Champion of Freedom" trophy with other players. Once you reach the double digit mark in time, the screen will be filled with enemies at all times, making it a cinch to destroy 10 enemies with one nuke. Just hope that the other players don't use the nukes first, as they are shared.
"Ow, Quit It!"
Destroy the Supply Chopper in Mission Mode. Who needs power-ups?
Don't attempt this until the later levels when you have maxed out most of your offensive attacks. The supply chopper can take a beating, and won't go down easily. Nukes do not count towards damaging it, so be sure to focus on it the second you see it if you want to destroy it. Once gone, it will not return for the remainder of the level you are currently on, but it will return in every level afterward.
